Chapter 22

Jessica was slightly stunned. She took the garments and realized that it was really a set of sleeping robes. She shot the man a confused look. Why would she change into sleeping robes for a movie?

“Don’t worry. The robes are newly bought. They don’t recycle items here.”

This kind of private theatre was not built to earn movie tickets. She did not have to pick a fault in the details.

Blake nodded at the room behind her and signaled her to go in. Jessica walked in with the sleeping robe and she realized that the room was equipped with a shower.

She then emerged in the sleeping robe to see that Blake was already lying down on the couch.

The movie was starting, and the intro music was playing. It was an old movie that screamed of nostalgia.

Blake looked at Jessica and reached out to her. She put her hand on his and he pulled her into his arms.

The lights in the room dimmed down, so the silver screen became the only light source.

Jessica leaned on his wide chest as the room was quiet. She was quite nervous at first when she heard his strong heartbeat, but she soon accepted it and calmed down.

The attendant came in with a cart full of fruits, deserts, and red wine. There was even a plate of codfish and chips.

“You didn’t eat anything during dinner.” Blake put the plate on the tea table and urged Jessica to eat something. His big hand curled up around her waist as if he wanted to hug her, but his eyes were glued to the screen. Other than ‘working out’ in bed, the two had never been this close.

Jessica’s heart was pounding and her cheeks were burning while she stole a peek at him.

‘He’s aware that I didn’t really eat during dinner?’

“Were you unhappy back at dinner?” his charming and strong voice asked. It was more melodious than the male character in the movie and it purred right beside her ears.
