Chapter 27

Jessica smiled and signed, “No, something happened at home. That’s why I’m late.”

Dean furrowed his brows slightly. “Is it something serious? Do you need any help?”

However, she shook her head and smiled at him. She picked up a piece of chicken wing from her plate and waved it. “I’m fine. Go have fun. I want a bite first.”

Right after Jessica came back from the hospital, she had accompanied Winson and fed him, thus she had completely forgotten to eat her lunch.

Dean glanced at her. As a psychology student, he could tell whether she was facing a problem or not. Her smile looked forced, meaning that she was not happy.

Nevertheless, Dean did not say anything as he decided to give her some space.

However, Blake was staring at the little bonzai on the table with a sour look.

After the director from the project planning department ended his presentation, the meeting room plunged into silence.
