Chapter 39

Blake realized he had gone too far. He cleared his throat and looked around his office awkwardly. Fortunately, he was alone in the office after Joe left, so no one knew that the fierce and mighty CEO of the company was having naughty thoughts about his wife.

Blake closed the Weibo page and continued his work. Although he might appear to be typing furiously on his keyboard, his mind was still lingering on Jessica’s body.

‘Why am I wasting my thoughts on that woman?’

On the other hand, the confident Kim never would have thought that the proposal she delivered would get her scolded by Blake and even put her current job at risk.

At night, Blake arrived home just in time for dinner. Jessica had her apron on and was taking a dish out from the kitchen. Since she had gotten off work earlier today, she made dinner.

Blake glanced over the dishes on the table and found that they looked somewhat familiar.

Another quick glance later, he finally remembered. They were the dishes the food vlogger on Weibo had posted. He just saw them today at his office. He even knew that the dishes were suitable for toddlers.

Blake went into his room and changed into his casual clothes. When he came out, he saw Jessica putting Winson into the baby chair.

He sat down beside Jessica and Ms. Susan got him a bowl of rice. He picked up a piece of steamed fish with his chopsticks. While it tasted sweet, something felt off.

He glanced at Jessica and realized that she had not looked at him ever since he stepped through the door.

‘Why is she showing her foul temper again? She was fine a few days ago…’

After dinner, just when Blake wanted to go into the study to work, he saw Jessica playing with Winson on the couch. He paused for a moment and said to her, “Bring me a cup of coffee later.”

Jessica was turning the clockwork key on the toy robot when Blake spoke to her. She nodded without looking at him and put the toy robot on the floor. Her eyes were fixed on the moving toy robot, and she did not even glance at him throughout the short conversation.

Blake frowned at her attitude. Rage was burning in his stomach, but he was able to control it as he looked away and walked into the study.

Jessica’s gaze followed Blake into the study, and after the door was shut, she finally sighed a breath of relief.

Time flew by quickly. It was already 8:00 p.m. and the little imp started to get sleepy. Jessica carried Winson to the bathroom for a quick bath. After she put him to sleep, she returned to the living room.
