Chapter 207 The Worst Has Yet To Come

“I'm fine, don't worry about me!”

“Why don’t I get a few people to come and rescue you?” Hansel asked as he looked at Lyla.

Lyla rolled her eyes at him. “Can you not look for trouble?”

“I’m just worried about you!”

“Aren’t I just fine now?”

“Well, if this is the case, then I can only guard outside!” Hansel said.

Lyla looked at him. “Your daddy's company is in urgent need of help now, so you should go to the company to help your daddy if you have time!”

“Roger!”

After talking for more than half an hour, Hansel left. “Mommy, remember, push this button if anything happens!” Hansel gestured at the watch on Lyla’s wrist.

Lyla nodded to express that she understood.

Hansel finally left without worry.

“Boss, where should we go next?” Piers looked at Hansel and asked.

“To my daddy's company, of course!”

“I need to go there too?”

“Didn't you say that you always wanted to go to a publicly listed company? Let’s go, I’ll let you see the real deal!”

“Okay!”

M.K.

Mark had meetings all morning. He had to deal with those old, stubborn shareholders throughout that time.

The moment he returned to the office, Hansel walked in. “Daddy!”

Mark raised his spirits upon seeing Hansel. “You’re here now?”

“Mmhm, I went to see Mommy just now!”

“How is she now?”

“She asked me to tell you to not worry about her too much. She’ll be waiting for you!” Hansel passed the message truthfully.

For some reason, Mark’s heart became much calmer when he heard Lyla being mentioned.

“Alright!”

“By the way, do you know who I saw when I went to see mommy?”

“Who?” Mark casually picked up the coffee on the table and drank slowly.

“Your love rival!”

Mark’s actions were stunned for a moment. “Arden?”

“Exactly. When I first went in there, I even heard a touching proposal. Too bad I’m not a girl, otherwise I’ll definitely be moved to death!” Hansel said casually while observing Mark’s expression.

Obviously, Mark’s expression darkened quite a lot.

‘That damned Arden Pattinson!’

Mark put down the coffee and was about to leave.

“Daddy, where are you going?”

“To pick up your mommy!”

“But do you have any evidence that Mommy is innocent?” Hansel asked.

“Nope!”

“Then how are you going to get her out?”

“I’ll get her out of there even if I have to use force!”

Hansel, “...”

Sigh.

He did not expect that even after Daddy and Mommy got together, Mark would still get jealous easily.

Hansel hurriedly stepped forward to hold him. “Come on Daddy, don't get angry for now. Although he proposed for quite a while, Mommy still rejected him!”

Upon hearing this, Mark turned his head and looked at Hansel. “Really?”

“Of course, who do you think Mommy is? She’ll never give those that she doesn’t like a chance!”

Mark’s mood slowly became better.

“And then?”

“He left in the end, saying that he’ll get Mommy out. I think he must have wanted to take advantage of this matter to win over Mommy’s heart!”

Mark snorted coldly. “Does he think that your mommy is that superficial? No matter what he does, your mommy won't be moved!”

‘Yikes, look at Mark all happy now.’

However, Hansel was scared that he would irritate Mark, so he just nodded continuously. “Yes, Daddy. You’re right!”

Only then did Mark calm down. He sat still in his place and narrowed his eyes. “However, since he can show up there that quickly and even promise that he can release your mommy, this matter definitely has something to do with him!”

“I think so too!” said Hansel. He then remembered something. “By the way, where’s that Kathleen?”

“Why are you looking for her?”

“I suspect that this matter has something to do with her too!”

“Why do you say that?”

“Don't you think this matter is too much of a coincidence? She just came back to the company and such a thing happened. Or is her acting so good that you don’t doubt her?”

When Hansel said this, Mark frowned. “I do suspect her, but there’s no evidence!”

“I heard Mommy say that when both of you saved her last time, she mentioned that she was also rescued by Arden before. Therefore, I have reason to believe that they did this together!”

Mark still remembered that she mentioned that. “However, suspicions can’t be used as evidence, so we must have actual evidence!”

Hansel thought for a while. “Where did you find those things?”

“In the inventory room!”

“Who owns the key to the inventory room?”

“Your mommy!”

Hansel frowned. “Anyone apart from Mommy?”

“Generally speaking, only the director can enter. There’s only one key, so no one except your mommy should be able to enter!”
