Chapter 210 Please, Don't Go

Even though he knew Hansel said it on purpose, Justin felt a little uncomfortable after hearing.

He munched on his food blankly before he said, “You should be, you should learn to repay people’s favor.”

“Then how should I repay you?”

“Why don’t you think about it properly before saying?”

“Should I marry myself to you?”

Justin looked at the boy but what he saw was a grin on the boy’s face.

“Oh well, I guess I’ll have to lower myself to become your grandson.”

Justin tried to continue eating but he instinctively glanced at the boy. Despite his biggest effort to calm down the excitement in him, the quiver gave him away.

“Oh, I guess you have to really lower yourself!” Justin did not want to look weak in front of Hansel.

“Not really. You don’t even want to acknowledge me as your grandson, yet I was bold enough and persistent enough to make it happen. If I’m not lowering myself in this, what is?”

Justin was speechless.

“So, how does it sound? If you don’t want to, beat it! It’s now or never!” Hansel said.

Hansel knew what Justin once said he would never acknowledge him as his grandson but the man had been approaching him recently. Unfortunately, the man had yet to lower his pride, so Hansel had to make it happen.

Even though Hansel’s words sounded a little threatening, he was forced to use them on Justin.

Right after Justin heard it, he hesitated for a while before he said, “Really? Then, let’s see how well you can say grandfather.”

“Grandfather!” Hansel spewed it almost instantly.

Justin was caught off guard. He thought that given Hansel’s temper, the boy would have argued with him, so he did not expect the boy to call him grandfather so easily. It stunned him.

Jesse also called him grandfather before but it did not feel like this. The feeling was indescribable.

Hansel smiled at him. “How does it feel to have a grandson like me? Proud?”

Justin softly grinned. “Meh.”

“You got yourself a bargain you know. You got a grandson and a granddaughter together. Gretel might not like you,” Hansel said.

Justin was actually thinking about Gretel when Hansel mentioned his sister. The twins shared a similar temper, so after some thought, he said, “If that’s the case, I’ll leave this grand undertaking in your hands.”

“My hands? Why?”

“Because you are my grandson.”

“I…”

“I believe you can convince her,” Justin said affirmatively.

Hansel did not argue, he answered with a smile instead. For whatever reasons, he liked Justin, the old man was not as resentful as he thought.

As he continued chewing on his food, Hansel thought of something. “But there’s one thing I have to confess.”

“What’s that?”

“The little incident back there, I did it on purpose.”

“What do you mean?” Justin looked at him.

“I did it on purpose to test you and the outcome did not let me down. My dear grandfather, I can see that you really care about me.”

Justin had a hunch. For a moment back there, he suspected that the boy must have done it on purpose but when he saw the innocent look on the boy’s face, the thought was discarded.

He did not expect his suspicion to be true.

“You little…” Justin wanted to say something but he got closer to Hansel instead. “You really did it on purpose?”

Hansel nodded seriously.

“How did you do it?”

“I took the glass from his hand and splashed it on his shirt.”

Justin was speechless. ‘This kid…’

He was anxious but helpless.

“I did it to test you!” Hansel said.

“So how did it turn out?”

Hansel tapped Justin’s shirt. “You looked handsome when you stood up for me. So I decided to let the past slip and take you as my grandfather.”

The boy made it sound like Justin was the one who asked for forgiveness.

“You are interesting, that little mind of yours is deep,” Justin said after a long thought.

“As a Pattinson, I can’t secure my position without a little ‘depth’,” Hansel said with a chuckle.

The way the boy called himself a Pattinson made Justin happy. The words sounded pleasant in his ears, he grinned happily. The food somehow tasted better.

“Fine. Just eat your food.”

Lyla thought she had to stay in lockup for a few more days but to her surprise, she was released in the afternoon.

“You are free to go now.”

Lyla frowned. She was brought out of the station and when she was at the entrance, she saw Arden.

“Lyla!” Arden showed a smile and strode to her side.

“Senior! It’s you?!”

“I came to bail you out.”

Lyla slightly frowned. “Am I not a suspect anymore?”

“Of course. Otherwise why would they allow me to bail you out?” Arden smiled.

Lyla looked at him but did not say anything. After dealing with the procedures, the two of them left.

However, the moment they stepped out of the station, a car drove over from afar and stopped in front of them with a sharp screech.

Mark came down from the car in his full black suit, looking extremely smart and handsome.
