Chapter 241 Putting The Plan Into Action (1)

“You’ve picked the person who’s the worst at lying!” Lyla looked at Shadow. “If something really happened to you, Shadow would definitely be very worried and wouldn’t come all the way to inform me personally. Also, when Shadow lies, he speaks every sentence fluidly, as if he’s reciting from a book!”

Felix. “...”

Shadow stood by the side and watched on silently. That was true.

“Spill it. Why did you do this?” Lyla asked him.

“I just want you to stay!”

Lyla frowned. The more he wanted her to stay, the more suspicious she got.

“Is there something happening?”

Felix did not speak.

Lyla frowned. Then, she suddenly thought of something and turned to leave.

“Lyla!” Felix stopped her.

Lyla turned around and looked at him. “Mark and Lola are going to take revenge today, aren’t they?”

Felix did not say anything, but his silence was the best answer.

“Fine!” Lyla left without waiting for him to speak.

“Do you know how much danger you’ll be in if you go out now and their mission isn’t successful?!” Felix asked her.

“I know, but I still have to go!”

“Even if you don’t think of yourself, why aren’t you thinking of Hansel and Gretel?”

At the mention of Gretel, she stopped and looked back at Felix. “Gretel is here too?”

Felix narrowed his eyes. “Listen to me. This is the safest place around. With you here, they’ll be able to accomplish their mission without worrying!”

Felix’s words were not unreasonable, but Lyla’s heart was in a panic. There seemed to be a bad premonition spreading.

“I understand what you mean, but I have to go. I’ll be back soon. I’ll leave Gretel to you, so protect her!” Then, Lyla ran out.

“Lyla!” Felix shouted and hurriedly left the bed to chase after her, but accidentally fell to the ground.

“Boss!”

“Lyla—” Felix shouted, but Lyla did not turn back and ran straight out.

Felix narrowed his eyes at her back. His eyes were filled with pain, but there was nothing he could do.

“Should I stop Ms. Lowe?” Shadow asked.

Felix only spoke after a long time. “No need, she has already made up her mind. We can stop her body, but we can’t stop her heart!”

Shadow did not understand, but he did not say anything else and simply helped Felix up from the ground.

……

Lyla ran out and called Mark when she got into the car.

‘Sorry, the number you dialed is currently not available…’

Mark was rarely unable to reach. At this moment, her guess was verified.

“Mister, can you drive faster?” Lyla was very anxious.

“Lady, it’s nighttime now. It’s not safe to drive so fast!” The driver said.

“But I have something really important to do!”

Seeing Lyla’s urgent look, the driver nodded. “Ok!” Then, the car went towards the destination Lyla gave.

“I’ve already found out that he’ll be in this place today. There’ll be around forty people. I’ll help you handle the outside while you go in and kill Angiulo!” Mark said.

Lola listened and nodded.

Currently, the people were all wearing their equipment.

“In that case, let’s go!”

Lola nodded and got into the car.

Mark was just about to get in when a car appeared in the distance. Mark paused at the blinding lights.

When the car stopped, Lyla got down from it.

The moment the two people’s gazes met, time seemed to come to a stop.

Lyla looked at him.

He also looked at Lyla.

After a long time, he finally came back to his senses and walked over.

“Why did you come back?”

“You were the one who deliberately sent me away?” Lyla asked him directly.

Mark pursed his lips. “For now, the safest place is with him!”

Lyla walked up and looked at him with clear and firm eyes. “So you’re not planning to come back alive to see me?”

Mark’s secretive eyes looked at her with unspeakable pain. “I’ll come back alive!”

“Then why won’t you let me see you?” Lyla asked directly.

Mark had no words to say.

It was because he could not bear to. It was because he was afraid he would not come back. It was because he was afraid that if he saw her, he would change his mind…

Those were all reasons why he had to let her go.

However, Mark did not know what to say. He could only go up and take her into his arms.

He held her tightly.

Lyla smacked him fiercely, blaming him.

However, the more she hit him, the tighter Mark held her. In the end, Lyla gave in to his embrace.

“Promise me that you’ll come back alive!”

After a long time, Mark whispered in her ear, “I promise!”

Lyla pushed him away. Her eyes were red, but she desperately tried to hold back. “Mark, you better listen up. If you don’t come back, I’ll definitely take Hansel and Gretel and marry someone else. That person won’t be Felix but someone you’ll never be able to guess. Your son and daughter will call him Daddy, and he’ll also take over your company and your house. They’ll forget you forever!” Lyla said each word slowly. She seemed to want to provoke him and make him angry, so that he came back alive.

Looking at her, Mark lowered his eyes and pulled her in front of him, and said in a low voice, “I’m afraid you won’t have the chance to do that, because I’ll definitely come back alive and marry you!”

“That better be true!” As Lyla spoke, her tears flowed down her cheeks.
