Chapter 245 Worried For Your EQ

Lyla spent the night at Mark’s bedside.

The next morning, Mark saw Lyla by his bed as he woke up. Looking at her sleeping so deeply, Mark could not bear to disturb her, but he also felt very heartbroken looking at her sleep that way.

Just as he was about to move, he realized that he could not move at all.

Mark frowned in pain.

At this moment, Lyla seemingly felt a movement, and her long eyelashes moved before opening her eyes.

Seeing Mark awake, she immediately sat upright. “You’re awake?”

Mark nodded.

“How are you? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?” Lyla asked worriedly.

Mark shook his head. “No!”

Lyla then sighed in relief.

Looking at Mark, the two of them looked at each other, but neither spoke.

In the end, it was Mark who broke the silence and opened his mouth while smiling. “What’s wrong?”

Lyla’s eyes immediately turned red and tears rolled down her cheeks. “You almost scared me to death!”

Lyla was a very strong woman and rarely cried, but due to the recent events, she cried quite a lot of times. However, every time she cried, it always felt like a knife stabbing into Mark’s chest.

Mark stretched out his hand, wiping away the tears on her face. “I already promised you that I would come back alive!”

Lyla looked at him. Although she could not stop crying, she felt an indescribable sense of security by his side.

“Did you know that at that moment, I could only think of you? Lyla, what should I do? I can never leave you for the rest of my life!”

Lyla smiled while crying. “Then you should just stay by my side and don’t go anywhere. Otherwise, you’ll surely regret it!”

“I promise you!”

The two of them looked at each other, enjoying the joy of successfully overcoming a disaster.

……

At this time, Felix walked in. “Oh, you’re awake?”

Hearing his voice, Mark looked at Felix and his tone instantly became as irritating as his. “Yeah, so sorry to disappoint you!”

Felix smiled disapprovingly. “It truly is disappointing!”

Mark smiled at him. “Sorry about that!”

Felix walked towards him and looked down at him. “Mark Pattinson, are you still not willing to back down at this point?”

Mark looked back at him. “I don’t know what that word means!”

“Then do you know where you are?”

Mark looked at his surroundings. “The place where you usually sleep!”

“... Since you know whose territory you are in, you should know how to back down!”

“I already told you, I don’t know what that word means!”

“You—”

Seeing those two argue, Lyla felt extremely helpless. Those two grown-up men acted like kids, bickering every time they met.

Lazy to deal with them, she got up and prepared to leave.

Felix and Mark seemingly open their mouths at the same time. “Where are you going?”

“I’m heading out to give you guys more space so that you two can continue bickering!”

The two of them, “...”

They went silent immediately.

Glancing at each other, both of them looked to the side and stopped talking.

Lyla frowned and looked at them, “What, done arguing?”

They still did not speak.

“You two are just like quarrelsome lovers. You’re so in tune with each other!”

“Who’s in tune with him?!”

“Who’s in tune with him?”

Both of them said disdainfully but in unison.

This time, Lyla did not need to say anything. Mark and Felix looked at each other, both not having the gall to refute.

The corners of Lyla’s mouth hooked, but she was afraid that they would notice, so she pretended to look serious.

“I’m going out to grab water!” After saying that, Lyla went out immediately.

Only the two of them were left in the ward.

Mark coughed lightly. “I’m grateful to you this time!”

Felix looked back at him as if he had heard wrongly. “Hey, you actually know what ‘thank you’ means!”

Mark rolled his eyes at him. “I owe you a favor this time. It’s not like it’s the first or second time anyway!” Mark said comfortably.

Felix turned his head and looked at him. He always approved of what he called favors.

In Mark’s eyes, Lyla, Hansel, and Gretel were all favors.

However, that was not the case.

Felix suddenly came up and looked at him. “Mark Pattinson, don’t act like Lyla belongs to you. If you piss me off, I’ll throw you outside immediately. You should know very well that Angiulo is searching for you!”

Mark did not take his threats and intimidations to heart but instead looked at him with a composed smile. “I believe that you won’t do that!”

Felix’s mouth hooked up a light smile. “You’re right, I won’t do that!”

Mark smiled.

At this moment, Hansel ran in from the outside.

“Daddy, you’re awake?”

Hansel’s arrival also interrupted the two of them.

Mark looked at him, and his mouth pulled up a smile. “Yep!”

“You really gave me a shock!”
