Chapter 31 Shooting Herself in the Foot

The next day, the company went into a frenzy when Lyla arrived.

Everyone had gained a new understanding of her work abilities.

Lyla had been able to immediately settle the case that M.K. Corporation had shelved, and she had come out of it unscathed.

“Lyla, I admire you so much!” Lily said as she held Lyla’s hands. “You’re literally a goddess in my heart!”

“You’re not only beautiful but also capable,” a male colleague also said with a smile.

“Why? Have you fallen in love with her?” Everyone teased.

“No way! I’m just an ugly duckling compared to her.” The man blushed and giggled.

“Well, in my opinion, you’re not just an ugly duckling compared to her, you’re literally a toad,” another person said.

Was it really fine to belittle him like that, though?

“Haha, Lyla will be the Department of Design’s goddess from now on.” Everyone laughed.

The entire Department of Design became lively.

Lyla felt happy as well when she saw everyone laugh while they engaged in lively conversation.

Even though it had not been long since she first came to the company, her colleagues treated her well. Lily, especially, helped her the most.

“I also want to thank all of you for looking after me all the time!” she said sincerely.

The smart, beautiful Lyla was capable and modest, which was why everyone liked her.

At that moment, Kathleen was the most displeased. She had wanted to create difficulties for Lyla to teach her a lesson at first. However, she ended up giving her a chance to get the contract signed and proved herself instead.

“Hmph, just wait and see! I wonder how long you can be proud of yourself!” Kathleen gnashed her teeth in hatred. ‘One day, I’ll make you vanish from my sight!’

She took a document and walked to Mark’s office.

After she knocked on the door twice, she opened the door and walked in directly.

Mark was busy working at his desk. He frowned when he found that Kathleen was the one who had entered. “Do you need anything?”
