Chapter 315 Lost Contact

Hearing his words, Lyla smiled gratefully. “Thank you for saving me!”

Kyle blushed with embarrassment and did not dare to look directly at Lyla. “Ms. Lyla is too polite!”

Lyla laughed at that. “My surname is Lowe, Lyla Lowe!”

When Kyle heard that, he became more embarrassed. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know!”

“I don’t blame you, I just didn’t make it clear!” Lyla looked very gentle, the type that Kyle rarely saw.

Kyle looked at her. At this moment, Lyla, who just regained consciousness and talked to him, was also astonishingly beautiful. “Um, you, how did you fall into the water?”

Speaking of this, the smile on Lyla’s face slowly faded, replaced by the scene that happened.

She knew that doing that was a little too heartless to both Mark and Felix. However, that was the only way to stop Felix’s crazy behavior.

She could not accept Mark and Felix killing each other. No matter which side was gone, she would not be able to live in peace.

So, this was the only way!

Seeing Lyla not speaking and her complexion not as good as before, Kyle realized that he asked the wrong thing. “Um, did I say something wrong? You don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to!”

Lyla raised her clear eyes and observed the person in front of her. He looked around twenty years old. He was not very handsome, but he looked sunny, healthy, and clean, giving out a very comfortable feeling.

The corners of her mouth lifted to form an arc. “They’re just bad memories, so… I don’t want to talk too much about it!”

“Since it’s not pleasant, you don’t have to say it. Ms. Lowe, d-do you want to eat more? I can serve you some more!” Kyle had an indescribable tolerance towards Lyla.

“No need to!” Lyla looked at him. “I’m not hungry anymore!”

“Oh, is that so!” Kyle looked even more restrained than Lyla as if he were the outsider.

Lyla looked at him and thought about it before opening her mouth. “Kyle, can I borrow your cell phone?”

Kyle immediately nodded when he heard that. “Sure!” He took out his cell phone as he spoke and handed it to Lyla. His assured look could give others a sense of helplessness.

“Thank you!”

“Well, take your time. I’ll go out first!” Kyle was quite respectful in this aspect.

Lyla nodded, and Kyle went out immediately.

Holding the phone, Lyla looked at it but did not press any numbers.

She did not expect to have slept for two months.

Lyla did not know what happened in the past two months, but as she held the phone and thought of contacting them, there was an indescribable uneasiness in her heart.

She did not doubt Mark’s feelings for her, but she believed that time could dilute many things.

After all, she had disappeared for two months. Surely they would also think that she was dead.

Many things could happen and change in two months, who knew whether they would still remember her...

After pondering for a long time, she finally gathered the courage to dial the unforgettable number in her heart.

However, as she dialed it and placed the phone beside her ear, her heart thumped rapidly.

To her surprise, this number was still in use.

Beep—

One beep.

Two beeps.

Three beeps.

After countless beeps, a mechanical voice came from the phone. “Sorry, the person you called is unavailable. Please try again later!”

Lyla frowned. This was Mark’s private phone number, which was rarely unanswered.

Thinking a bit, Lyla called again.

This time, the call was answered very quickly.

“Hello!”

Lyla wanted to speak, but she froze as she heard a woman’s voice.

“Who are you looking for?” The woman asked.

“I-Is this not Mark Pattinson’s phone number?” Lyla asked cautiously.

The person on the other side heard that and spoke immediately. “Sorry, wrong number!” After saying that, she hung up.

Lyla looked at the phone. After hearing that it was the wrong number, she did not think too much and felt relieved.

Unable to contact Mark, she called Hansel.

“Sorry, the number you have dialed is unavailable!”

At that moment, Lyla was a little disappointed.

She initially thought that it would be easy to contact them, but now she realized that it was not the case.

One’s imagination was usually too perfect.

As she held the phone, below her long eyelashes was a sense of loss, but she still comforted herself in her heart.

At that moment, Kyle walked in. Looking at her, his eyebrows furrowed in concern. “What happened, are you okay?”

Hearing his voice, Lyla raised her eyes to look at him and smiled gently. “I’m fine, thank you!” She handed the phone back to him.

Kyle took it and put it away. Then, he looked at her and asked carefully, “Did... you not get through?”

Lyla shook her head.

“Maybe it’s because a long time has passed… Do you want me to ask around for you?” Kyle asked.

“It’s okay!” Lyla opened her mouth. “We can talk about this after I get better!”

Kyle listened and nodded. “Alright then!”

At that time, Lyla looked outside. Her sense of loss was gone, and there was instead a sense of longing for the outside. “I want to go out for a walk!”

Kyle nodded. “Sure, our place here might not compare to big cities, but it’s full of nature, and the environment isn’t bad!”

Lyla nodded. As she was about to get off the bed, she looked at her clothes and froze.
