Chapter 356 There’s No Helping It. I’m Just That Smart

Besides Hansel, Neil also thought the same.

After all, the news came from over there.

They looked at each other.

Even Mark was in doubt. “The other party must have used something like distortion. Their voice was rough so I couldn’t hear them clearly at all!”

“If they want to hide, they definitely won’t let you hear their real voice!”

Lingo did not talk nonsense with them and directly dialed Piers’ phone. “How is it?”

“I’ve been watching, but no one has been to her house except her secretary!”

“Her secretary?”

Lingo was once again intrigued by this person.

“Are you sure?”

“Of course I’m sure. I’ve got people watching all around. If anyone goes in, I’ll definitely know!” Piers said with 100% certainty.

Lingo thought about it. “Piers, get someone to tail that secretary and see if there’s anything strange!”

“Okay, I got it!”

After hanging up, Lingo pondered over something and looked at them. “Have you guys ever thought that maybe we’re going in the wrong direction?”

Hearing Lingo’s voice, Hansel looked at her. “What do you mean?”

“Maybe it’s not a lover. Maybe it’s someone else, like a relative, who wants to protect her!”

“Lingo, do you have some idea?” Hansel asked.

“I told Piers to put Delilah on 24-hour surveillance. She stayed at home all day and didn’t go out at all, so there’s no way that this was a one-man-show directed and performed by her. I think it should be someone else!”

Everyone remained silent and looked at Lingo.

“Just get to the point!” Mark said.

“Just now, Piers said that he had been watching her house for a day and no one went in, except for one person…”

“Who?”

“Her secretary!” Lingo said.

Mark frowned at that. “You mean Ms. Davis?”

“Yep, that’s her!” Lingo said.

At that point, Mark also thought about it and suddenly remembered the incident when Delilah attempted suicide and was hospitalized. When Lyla and he rushed over, the secretary let them stay there and said she had to go back to pack up...

His thoughts returned to that day. When she came back, she had changed into another set of clothes.

Thinking about this, he suddenly had a realization.

Mark had a photographic memory, but many things led him astray in this matter so he had never thought about it. Once Lingo said this, it made him remember that day, and there seemed to be a moment where everything clicked.

“It’s possible!” Mark said.

Hearing how sure he was, Hansel and Gretel still had a hard time believing it. At that moment, Amanda said from the side, “Is Ms. Davis that woman?”

“Yep, that’s her!” Lingo said.

“How could that be? How could a woman be so strong as to kill two men and kidnap another woman?” Amanda was slightly incredulous.

Lingo’s lips quirked up at that. “What you think is impossible is actually pushing you towards a misconception. There’s nothing strange about a woman doing such a thing, and it’s not that such capabilities don’t exist. If you don’t believe me, you can pick someone here to try it out with me!”

Amanda. “...”

She had heard what Lingo did from Lyla, so when she heard this, she meekly shut up.

“Lingo is right. We were too sure that it was a man before. That’s why we didn’t make any progress!” Mark looked at Hansel. “Investigate that secretary’s background!”

“On it!”

“I won’t overlook any information, even if it’s wrong!” Mark said word by word. However, his intuition told him that this time, there was no mistake.

Lingo stood by the side. No one knew what she was thinking, and after a long time, she said to Hansel who was in front of the computer. “Check her relationship history!”

The moment the words fell out of her mouth, many eyes fell on her body. They all understood the other layer of meaning in her words.

Lingo blinked. “What are you looking at? I have a reason for thinking that!”

Although they were astonished, they were even more amazed. Lingo was indeed very imaginative, but one should never underestimate a woman’s intuition. Sometimes, it was amazingly accurate.

Hansel believed her and nodded. “Got it!”

Lingo held a glass of red wine and turned to the side.

Sometimes, it was not a bad thing if a person was too smart.

……

Neil and Amanda did not leave and stayed at the Pattinson residence on standby.

Neil sat beside Amanda, but Amanda moved away and did not want to sit too close to him. However, that distance made Neil very unhappy.

They were just fine earlier!

“What’s wrong?” Neil asked her.

“Nothing!” Amanda smiled awkwardly and remembered something. “By the way, I won’t go to your place. You’d better change the password, lest something happens afterward!”

The frown on Neil’s brows deepened. “What do you… mean by that?”

“That person’s target isn’t me, so nothing will happen to me, but thank you for before!” Amanda said.

The situation changed too quickly. It was fine just earlier. How did it turn out like this in an instant?

“No, did you misunderstand…”

“We don’t walk the same path and we’re from different worlds, so it’s better if you give up!”

Neil frowned.
