Chapter 366 Neil Abandoning His Dignity

Once Lyla heard about this matter, she felt some feelings of reluctance. After all, this matter did not have much to do with Delilah. Everything was done on Ms. Davis’ own accord.

At that moment, Delilah helped them, so she ended up hurting the person she loved the most. She even had to take the blame again. Her life that was already not going well became even more miserable.

Previously, Lyla had already been feeling bad that her appearance ruined Delilah’s original life. Ever since this incident happened, Lyla felt unspeakably guilty. It was the kind of guiltiness that could not fade away easily. Maybe Lyla would only feel better if Delilah could have a better life.

Therefore, after Lyla’s constant pleading, she was finally allowed to visit Delilah at the hospital.

……

“Ms. Collins…” Lyla frowned as she looked at Delilah.

“I’m relieved that you’re fine!” Delilah said calmly.

Lyla frowned. “Thank you for saving me!”

“You’re welcome. Even if it was for someone else, I would've done it too!” Delilah said calmly.

The more Delilah behaved like this, the more disturbed Lyla felt. “Why did you do it?”

“Someone has already asked me this question, so I don’t want to answer it again!”

“You’ll only hurt yourself if you’re like this!”

“I’m already like this now, so is there any difference from already being hurt?” Delilah sneered lightly and asked.

Lyla furrowed her brows, feeling uneasy. She could tell that Delilah was already in a pessimistic state. The moment someone became pessimistic, it would be a terrible thing.

“Ms. Collins…”

“I know what you want to say, but I’ve already made my decision, so you don’t have to say anything else!” Delilah said.

Once Lyla heard Delilah's words, she did not know what to reply.

“Ms. Collins, what I want to tell you is that there are a lot of things in this world that are waiting for you to explore. What you lost now isn’t everything, so you should cheer up and find your own happiness!” Lyla said.

Delilah just smiled at Lyla lightly, not saying anything else.

In the end, Lyla failed to persuade her and just walked out.

When Lyla went out, Mark was already waiting for her by the door. Upon seeing her disheartened look, he already knew what happened.

“I’ve failed!” Lyla said disappointedly.

Mark reached out his arm and wrapped it around her shoulders. “This isn’t an easy task, so failure is within my expectations!”

“Then what should we do now? We can’t just watch her be like that!” Lyla said anxiously.

Mark also knew this. However, to someone that wanted to die, what else could she still be afraid of?

“We’ll talk about it when we get back!” Mark said.

At that moment, that was all they could do. Lyla nodded and got into the car.

……

Delilah did not have any significant problems, so she was discharged after being hospitalized for a few days.

In those few days, things had also been getting much smoother.

The Pattinsons’ home.

Mark had asked someone to prepare a table of food and invited Neil, Lingo, Amanda, and Piers to come over.

During their meal, one of them mentioned Delilah’s matter.

“So Delilah is really going to jail?”

Upon mentioning this, Mark was taken aback for a moment. He then said calmly, “That’s the case for now. However, we’ll need to see whether Caty has a conscience. If she really treats Delilah well, then I believe that she’ll show up!”

“I still can’t find traces of her until now. It’s as if she has disappeared into thin air!” Piers said.

“You don’t have to look for her. She’ll show up sooner or later!”

“What if she doesn’t?” Gretel asked.

At that moment, everyone was filled with sympathy for Delilah. After all, she was indeed innocent in this matter.

Although she also helped them, she still ended up like this.

Even if it was others, who would not feel sympathetic? Who could bear seeing her like this?

“Exactly, Daddy. What if she doesn’t? There isn’t anything absolute in this world. Ms. Davis does treat Delilah very well, but what if she becomes afraid when facing a serious situation? People are selfish, so we still have to consider this!” Hansel said.

Everyone’s eyes were all on Mark.

After some time, Mark said, “I’ll have other arrangements!”

Everyone became relieved once Mark finished speaking.

“Alright, let’s not talk about this anymore! Let’s eat!” Lingo said.

She did not care about these matters. Instead, she cared more about eating.

Only then did everyone stop talking about this topic and started eating.

Neil looked at Amanda as he gave her constant hints and winks. However, Amanda just acted as if she did not see them.

Lingo was also annoyed by this. She then went to sit in between Neil and Amanda to interrupt Neil’s winking.

Once Neil saw this, he knew that Lingo did it deliberately. Neil and Lingo glared at each other for some time. In the end, Neil gave in and said, “Ma’am.” Only then did Lingo let him off the hook and gave up the seat.

Seeing this, Neil immediately sat over there.

Once Amanda saw Neil sitting, she immediately moved away from him a little. However, Neil was thick-skinned and just followed her.

Amanda became angry and rolled her eyes at him. “Mr. Issac, please mind yourself!”

Neil did not become angry or annoyed at all. Instead, he looked at her with a smile. “What does ‘mind yourself’ mean? Is it something edible?”

Everyone, “...”

The moment Neil said this, everyone rolled their eyes at him.

Lingo could not take it anymore and gave Neil a look. “Neil, where’s your dignity?”

“Dignity isn’t even essential for survival, so what use does it even have?”

Everyone, “...”

“Damn it!” Lingo could not take it anymore. “Don’t say that I know you next time!”
