Chapter 383 A Man’s Scent

Delilah froze upon seeing Caty curl herself up in the suitcase.

Was this really possible?

“This way, you can go straight to the garage later and put me in the trunk to transport me out!”

“What if they find out?” Delilah was worried.

“They don’t have the right to search your car, so don’t worry!” Caty said.

She studied law before, so Delilah believed what she said. Delilah also nodded. “Alright, I got it!”

Thus, after putting Caty in the suitcase, she began to move it downstairs.

Aunt Joyce immediately came up when she saw Delilah hefting the suitcase. “Ms. Collins, where are you going?!”

“It’s fine, I’ll do it myself!” Delilah said.

Aunt Joyce’s hand froze in the air before finally retreating.

“I’ll come back after I deliver this to the company. You go on with your work. Don’t mind me!” Delilah said.

Aunt Joyce nodded and did not help anymore.

Fortunately, the garage could be reached by passing through the back garden. Delilah pushed the suitcase from behind and put it in the trunk. After shutting the trunk, she took a deep breath and got into the car.

Delilah had a docile personality and had never done something like this before, so she was extremely nervous.

Her car just reached the entrance when she was stopped by someone.

It was the officer from earlier.

“Ms. Collins, where are you going at this late hour?” The officer looked at her and asked.

Delilah looked at him. “Is it any of your concern where I go? Also, why haven’t you left yet? What are you doing here?”

The officer took the opportunity to look into her car and see if there was anyone inside. “I’m here to protect Ms. Collins, of course. What if Caty Davis came back here and hurt you?”

Delilah frowned at the fact that he was surveilling her under the guise of protection. “I don’t need your protection. Please leave immediately!”

“That won’t do. It’s our duty to protect the public!”

“Why are you so annoying?!”

The officer smiled at Delilah. “I’m sorry for making you worry, but it’s for your safety. Please bear with it!”

“Bear with it? Did you understand a word of what I said? Also, this isn’t called protection, it’s called surveillance. I can lodge a complaint about you!” Delilah said impatiently.

Obviously, this was not enough to threaten and scare the person in front of her. The man raised his eyebrows. “I’m Tim Burr. Feel free to lodge a complaint!”

“Timber?” Delilah frowned.

“It’s Tim Burr!”

Delilah was obviously not interested. “Ok, just you wait!”

Tim smiled.

“Can I leave now? Or do you want to search the car too?!” Delilah asked.

Tim raised his brows. He did not have the right to do that. Even if he had his suspicions, he would not cross the line.

Watching him give way, Delilah drove away.

Tim frowned as he watched the car disappear.

“Boss, what do we do now?”

Tim found it strange and frowned. “Go in and ask the nanny again!”

“Got it!”

Tim stood where he was, thinking about the conversation with Delilah earlier, wondering what felt off.

At that moment, the person who went in ran back out. “Boss, the nanny said that Delilah Collins left with a luggage bag!”

“A luggage bag?”

“Yes, it seemed very big and the nanny wanted to help, but Delilah Collins stopped her!”

Tim immediately felt that something was wrong. “Get in the car. We’re going after her!”

They immediately got in the car and chased after Delilah.

“Faster, go faster!”

“Boss, she’s driving a sports car, while ours is… We can’t catch up no matter how fast we are!”

Tim sighed and thought about it before immediately taking out his phone. “Yeah, it’s me, Tim Burr from the Southern District Branch. There’s something I need your help with… Yes, the car plate number is 899!”

After hanging up, the person sitting next to him said, “Boss, you’re so smart!”

“Stop talking nonsense and drive. Don’t think of getting off work if you don’t find her!” Tim said.

The person really stopped talking and started driving seriously.

Tim gripped his phone. No one knew what he was thinking of.

……

At Delilah’s side.

As she drove, she turned directly into a jungle path halfway down the road.

Then, the car stopped.

She got down from the car and opened the trunk and suitcase. At that moment, Caty was laying inside.

“Hurry!” Delilah said.

Caty looked around and crept out of the car.

“I’ll leave now. Take care, Ms. Collins!” Caty said.

“Wait!” Delilah suddenly spoke.

Caty looked at her.

“Take this. It’ll last you for a while!”

“I-I can’t take this!”

“You have to take it!” Delilah stuffed it into her hands.
