Chapter 52 Why Make Women Suffer

Meanwhile, Mark Pattinson stood still at the same spot. The smile on his lips gradually turned sinister...

‘Want to control him?

‘Hey…

‘They are not qualified enough!

‘If you want to play, he does not mind taking more risks. He does not mind sacrificing more people on the way!’

The next day.

News of Mark Pattinson’s engagement with Kathleen Turner spread throughout Alpine City.

The news made the headlines in newspapers’ and magazine’ covers and became a hot topic in the entire Alpine City instantly.

Some said that Kathleen Turner's persistence had paid off and bore fruitful results.

Some said that Mark Pattinson was tired of the temptations of the world and was touched by Kathleen Turner's sincerity.

Some even exaggerate the whole story and said that Mark Pattinson was having a shotgun marriage with Kathleen Turner...

All kinds of news and opinions exploded in Alpine City.

Lyla looked at the newspaper and smiled faintly. If the reporters had not come into the picture, this matter would be much quieter. But she felt that having such a result might be a good thing.

But among the news, she believed the last version the most.

‘If a shotgun marriage was the case…

‘Hansel and Gretel will be having another sibling?’

Thinking about this, Lyla could not help shaking her head and praying secretly. They had no relationship with each other!

But it seemed that Mark Pattinson understood what she said to him yesterday.

As the news broke out, the scandal between Lyla and Mark Pattinson had turned insignificant. The scandal gradually faded away and no one ever mentioned it again.

Lyla went to work as usual.

Although news of Mark Pattinson and Kathleen Turner getting engaged had been spreading in the company, everyone was sceptical but now they were sure about it.

Many people in the company were gossiping about this matter. Some were giving their blessings. Some were envious, jealous and for a few who did not like Lyla, they were whispering at her back. They said that all Lyla’s effort had all gone in vain. Finally, Mr. Pattinson was getting engaged to Kathleen Turner in the end.

“A rich family background is the contributing factor!”

“No way. You just couldn’t fight the facts.”

When facing these remarks, Lyla smiled. She did not have to explain herself to all these people and respond to their remarks.

‘He was not someone to her, why should she explain herself?’

Lyla was a person with such character, and she was not obliged to explain to anyone.

Her life was fulfilled with her two dear ones at home!

At this time, Lily came over, holding today's newspaper in her hand.

“This finally happened!” Lily said with a look of regret.

Lyla was amused by her expression, “This is meant to happen. Why are you feeling sorry about it?” Besides, this would happen sooner or later.

“I'm sorry for you!” Lily said solemnly.

“Me? What's wrong with me?” Lyla was surprised.

“Are you not aware that people in the company are talking behind your back? They are saying that you failed to climb up the ladder and are still abandoned by Mr. Pattinson...” Lily said.

……

Lyla smiled.

Lily stared at her, “You could laugh in such a situation?”

“What's the matter? I don't have any relationship with Mr. Pattinson. Just let them say what they want to say. What's more I could do. I can't shut their mouth and suppress their thoughts!” Lyla explained.

When Lyla said this, she really forgot about the existence of her two babies at home!

If they had no relationship at all, how did the two babies come into existence?

‘Were they born out of a rock?

‘When the babies know about it, they would certainly protest and protest!’

Lily understood Lyla's temperament. So, she spoke out casually to fight off injustices for her.

Lily held the magazine and looked at the photo on it.

"Do you think Kathleen Turner would be happy with Mr. Pattinson? Would Kathleen Turner have to stay in her empty room every day?"

Lily was voicing out her opinion and asking a question casually.

Lyla sat in her seat, packed her things, and raised her brows when she heard Lily said, “It's hard to tell, they are a good match, but Mr. Pattinson was too flirtatious and needed an emotionally strong partner to tolerate him!”

Lyla was just stating her point of view.

But she never expected that these words would be heard by Kathleen Turner coincidentally.
