Chapter 86 Hansel's Sheepish Look

They both knew what the other was like, and they knew it very well. So they need not put airs up with each other.

“Is that so? If someone wasn't deliberately withholding information, then why couldn't I find any news about it!” Eileen Dawson asked.

She had even asked the teachers from school. None of them knew her home address, even the men sent to follow her had lost her too...

She believed that this was no coincidence.

In fact, it was not a coincidence at all. When she sent someone to question the teacher, Hansel had accidentally overheard it. Then he took note of it. So after school every day, she would part ways with Hansel on purpose then lead them on a wild goose chase.

Even though, Gretel's talents with the company are not as great as Hansel's. But her senses and sensitivity were extraordinary.

It was not just her, even Mark Pattinson was stunned at Eileen Dawson's words. This was because he too did not believe that any of this was pure coincidence.

Could it be someone protecting her from the shadows?

He did not get to dwell too much on it. More importantly, Gretel was safe. Now that he thought back to it, he could feel lingering fear. It was a good thing that she did not find out. If anything were to happen to Gretel, he would never forgive Eileen Dawson or himself as long as he lived.

“I said this before, she is my friend’s child. Her family background and her influence are strong. You’d better not meddle or offend, otherwise, it would do no good for the company’s growth.” Mark Pattinson warned.

“Your good friend’s child? Who?”

“I have so many friends. Do you know all of them that you’ll recognize them, even if I told you?” Mark Pattinson questioned back. It was obvious that he was dissatisfied with her digging and questions.

“You are not answering. Is it because you are guilty? Or are you lost for words?” Eileen Dawson asked.

Mark Pattinson smirked, “Are you really that curious?”

Eileen Dawson said nothing. Her eyes were fixed tight on him. Her answer was obvious.

“Someone from the underworld. Why, do you want to meddle with them too?” Mark Pattinson asked.

As expected, right after he said this Eileen Dawson was dumbfounded. Then she kept silent.

She was not that ambitious. All she wanted to do was to ensure Logan Pattinson’s place in the company, and not to create too many problems on the way. Even though she did not know what was up with the underworld, in her mind, it was a ruthless world. No amount of logic or reasoning would matter there.

Not to mention, even if she really was ambitious, she still could not escalate this even if she wanted to. She was already more than half a century old. The only other way besides using money to escalate her “career”, was to use more even money on it.

When he saw that Eileen Dawson was silent, Mark Pattinson knew that she believed him.

Even if she did not believe him, at least she feared him. This was precisely Mark Pattinson’s goal.

“You’d better not lie to me. Otherwise, I will never let this go!” Eileen Dawson warned.

Mark Pattinson only curled a corner of his lips into a smirk, saying nothing.

Even if he lied to her, so what then. Currently, he was no longer the Mark Pattinson who was at her mercy when he was younger.

Eileen Dawson glared at him viciously. Just as she was about to leave, she suddenly remembered something and turned back to look at Mark Pattinson. “When are you going to arrange for Logan to enter the company?”

Mark Pattinson knew that Eileen Dawson would not rest until she reached her goal. After some thought, he opened up. “Let’s discuss it further when he comes in tomorrow!”

When she heard this answer, then only did Eileen Dawson’s expression lighten. With no further words, she turned and walked out.

Just as she left, then only did Mark Pattinson let out a sigh of relief.

He was never scared of anything. But now he started to worry and feel terrified.

He was not scared of Eileen Dawson himself, but he was terrified that she might find out about Hansel and Gretel and do something to them.

He was now lucky that she had not found out about Hansel yet. Otherwise, based on the look on her face, he knew what she would do even without asking.

When he thought of Hansel and Gretel, the look on his face suddenly became gentle.

When he thought of the two, he could not help but let a smile creep on his face. That smile was even more genuine than any other he had in the past few years.

Just at that moment, his phone rang. Mark Pattinson composed his facial expression before he picked up the call.

“Hello!”

“Mr. Pattinson, we found it!”

When he heard this, Mark Pattinson’s eyebrows furrowed together. “Who?”

His face was gloomier and darker by the moment. After a few seconds, he opened up. “Alright, I understand!”

After the call disconnected, he sat in his office. His exquisite features were getting gentler and softer. Then, a cruel grin played at the corner of his lips.

...

Back in the hospital, Lyla woke up for a moment, only to fall back to sleep right after.

This scared Hansel and Gretel to bits; they quickly called the doctor in. In the end, the doctor said that Lyla has lost too much blood, rendering her body too weak. That was why she passed back out, there were not many problems.

When they heard this, then only did Hansel and Gretel feel reassured.

If Lyla could not wake up, then she could not drink his soup. In the end, he gave it all to Lingo.

With her legs crossed, she sat on a sofa at the side, enjoying herself thoroughly. “Sweetie, did you really make this?”

Hansel nodded. “Yep!”

“Your cooking is incredible. I have been to many places and tried my fair share of delicious food and drinks. But this taste is absolutely divine!” Lingo enjoyed and praised at the same time.

Hansel was speechless at this. “That soup was made with love, okay!”

“Then when will you boil a soup with love for me?” Lingo asked, her eyes sparkling.

“Aren’t you drinking it now?”

“You boiled this for your mummy. It’s not like you made this especially for me. So when will you make one specially just for me?” Lingo teased as she watched Hansel. Whenever her thoughts drifted to this little genius, she would get all worked up in her heart.

“You aren't afraid of getting fat?”

“Drinking soup won’t make you fat. Besides, I am born with grace and beauty, and gifted with a figure that will never grow fat no matter how much I eat. What is there to be afraid of?” Lingo cocked a brow as she mumbled lazily.

If there were anything unfair about this, it would be that God has given her an alluring figure and had also blessed her with unparalleled beauty. Most importantly, she was the Hall Master of the Hell’s Angels Alliance’s Assassination Group.
