Chapter 99 Lyla Lowe’s Discontent

People say a woman is at her most beautiful when she gives out her inner smile, and this was true, looking at Lyla's smile. It felt as if time had frozen.

The corner of Mark's mouth also slowly raised into a smile that even he himself did not notice.

Lifting the cup in front of him and taking a sip, he suddenly felt reluctant to part with such a day. He watched the two playing in front of him along with the person sitting quietly beside him. Mark would have never dared to imagine all of this, but now it was playing out right in front of him…

How he wished time could stay at this moment!

‘Mark Pattinson, you should be content to have experienced such a day!’

He clamored from the bottom of his heart.

However, humans will never be fully content, and that included Mark himself. He even sprouted an idea to be together with them for life.

However, would there be such a chance?

If he had known that there would be today, he would have never set foot on that road, a road of no return...

At this moment, Gretel looked at Mark and her eyes brightened. “Daddy, what are you thinking about?”

Mark returned to his senses, looked at her, and smiled. “Nothing!”

At the same time, Lyla glanced at him from the side. Mark actually seemed quite pleasing even when he was quiet.

In fact, besides Mark, even Lyla felt at peace. The corners of her mouth upturned slightly.

“By the way, do the people at the company know the news of my accident?” Lyla asked.

Mark shook his head. “I don’t know!”

Lyla frowned.

“I didn't go to the company much in the past few days. I went today and came straight after the meeting, so I don't know!” Mark continued.

His subconscious mind was also saying, ‘Look how worried I am about you, Lyla.’

However, Lyla did not think in that direction.

She did not work for the past two days and she lost her cell phone, so she did not know if anyone would look for her.

Sigh, she needed to buy a new cell phone soon.

While she was thinking, the waiter pushed a cart over and started to serve their meal.

It was indeed a feast. They ordered a whole table of food.

There was also a bowl of soup.

However, the soup was given to Lyla.

“What… is the meaning of this?” asked Lyla.

“You eat this!” Mark opened his mouth calmly.

Lyla looked at the soup in front of her. “Why?”

“These foods are not good for you since your wounds are healing, and can even cause inflammation, so it’s best that you eat this instead!” Mark replied. His intention was completely for Lyla’s wellbeing.

If she had known that this would happen, Lyla would definitely not have come.

Even Hansel echoed, “That’s right Mummy, Mr. Pattinson is right. You should just eat the porridge. Don't make the wound more serious!”

“Daddy is so thoughtful!" Gretel said girlishly at one side.

Lyla. “...”

Her expression should be impossible to describe with words.

Thus, the next scene saw Mark binging with Hansel and Gretel, while Lyla could only hold her bowl of soup pathetically and eat slowly.

Looking at them eating so heartily, only God knew how the greedy glutton in Lyla’s stomach felt.

If she had known it would be like this, she would have preferred to stay in the hospital and sleep rather than watch them eat and drink here while she could only hold her bowl of plain soup and drink it.

Mark couldn't help but laugh from the side. It was the first time he saw Lyla like this. She actually showed such a pitiable look because of food.

Mark ordered dessert and fruits for Lyla.

Even though it was thoughtful, Lyla did not appreciate it. She wanted to eat meat instead!

However, what the three of them ordered was all seafood, beef, and food that would cause inflammation of the wound.

Lyla could only endure it in her heart!

This was also the first time Hansel and Gretel saw Lyla like this. It was a feeling that could not be described. Mummy had always been confident and without scruples, but she was displaying an expression like that because of food. The two of them could not help but snicker.

Seeing them taking pleasure in her misfortune, Lyla rolled her eyes at them.

She never wanted to eat out with them ever again!

After eating, Mark looked at them. “How was it? Are you full?”

Hansel and Gretel nodded in unison. “Yep!”

“Then let’s go!”

Lyla. “...”

Thus, the family of four walked out. Lyla was a little glad that she only injured her left shoulder, otherwise she could only watch them eat for the entirety of today.

When they got into the car, Lyla still did not speak, and Mark looked at her. “Ms. Lowe, are you unhappy?”

Lyla smiled faintly at him. “I wouldn’t be unhappy even if you were unhappy!”

Mark raised his eyebrows. “Ok!” He started the car and headed back.

At this moment, Hansel quietly came forward. “Mummy, when you get better, I will make you a big meal, okay?”

After hearing the words ‘big meal’, Lyla brightened up. “Really?”

Hansel nodded. “Of course!”

“It's a deal!”

The two people also hooked their fingers childishly.

Mark looked at them through the rear-view mirror and thought of something as they spoke. "Lyla, is this how you act as his mummy? He is only a few years old, but you let him cook for you to eat every day?”

“What of it?” Lyla retorted, as if Hansel cooking was a perfectly normal thing.

“Do you know what other kids do at this age?” Mark asked while driving.
