Chapter 134 Anonymous Letter

Looking at Hansel, Lyla shook her head helplessly.

In Hansel’s opinion, that expression seemed like she was no longer angry. He grinned and went over to her. “Mummy, you’re not mad anymore?”

“Is there a point in getting mad? Will anyone still cook for me if I’m mad?” Lyla looked angry, but her tone of voice had already betrayed her.

Hansel immediately grasped what she meant. “Yes, Mummy, I’ll go cook right away!”

The corners of Lyla’s mouth pulled up in a smile. That child immediately knew what she was thinking with just one sentence.

Seeing Hansel head towards the kitchen, Gretel also quietly breathed a sigh of relief. They finally got through this.

Mark sat at the side with his legs crossed. His thin lips were pursed and his delicate facial features were expressionless; he had not said anything from start to finish. He believed what Hansel said, but not completely because, in some ways, he knew more than Lyla did.

Thus, even if Lyla was fooled, he was not.

Lyla chatted with Gretel on the sofa while Mark got up and walked toward the kitchen.

Hansel was busying himself and smiled at Mark. “Daddy, what do you want to eat?”

“Anything is fine!” Mark replied.

Hansel nodded and continued to cook.

Mark looked at him with a deep and dark gaze, and said after a long time, “Where did you go today?”

Hansel was stunned at that. Had he not already explained it just now? Why was Mark asking again?

“Didn’t I say earlier? I went to a friend’s place to fix his computer!” Hansel said without raising his head.

“Which friend?” Mark continued to ask.

Hansel worked while saying absentmindedly, “You’ve seen him before. It’s that guy, Piers Brion. He was with me that time we went to save Mummy!”

Mark did indeed remember Piers. The woman called Lingo was also fresh in his memory.

It was because they looked very unusual, especially that woman.

Mark looked at Hansel. “I remember I told you that he’s not a simple person!”

“I know!”

“In that case, why are you still associating with him?!”

“Daddy, do I have to stop associating with him just because he’s not simple?” Hansel retorted.

Mark frowned. “The ‘not simple’ I mentioned is far beyond your imagination!”

“No matter how complicated he is, to me, as long as he’s good to me and doesn’t do anything to hurt me, I have no reason to stop associating with him!” Hansel said word by word.

“How would you know that he won’t do anything to hurt you?” Mark asked.

“Daddy, do you think I can’t tell people apart?” Hansel retorted.

The topic had already stiffened by this point.

It was clear that Hansel had his own insistence and ideas in this regard.

“Okay!” Mark nodded. “Since you say so, I respect you!”

Hansel smiled. “Thank you for your respect, Daddy!”

His smile was to ease the awkwardness. Mark still had countless questions, but now was not the time to ask them, so he simply stopped.

“Do you need my help?” Mark asked with raised eyebrows.

Hearing this, Hansel’s eyebrows quirked. “Daddy, do you mean that you’re willing to cook now?”

“Don’t overthink it. I’m just acting as an assistant!” Mark said.

“...Daddy, is it just my imagination, or do I feel like you’re starting to get interested in cooking now?”

“It’s definitely your imagination!”

Hansel, “...”

“Well, in that case, I won’t force you. I don’t think you can do it anyway!” Hansel drawled.

Mark raised his eyebrows lazily and glanced at Hansel. “You don’t need to taunt me. Those tricks don’t work on me!”

“I’m not. I’m being serious. Mummy is a picky eater, so Daddy wouldn’t be able to satisfy her!”

Satisfy?

Mark’s thoughts strayed at that word.

At that time, he looked at Hansel. “It doesn’t matter. Even if I can’t satisfy her in this aspect, I can satisfy her in others!”

Huh?

Hansel’s thoughts also strayed at that. His mind was full of inappropriate images for children.

“Like what?” Hansel asked.

“Money!” Mark said calmly.

Hansel. “...”

Pretended like he never asked.

Seeing him fall silent, Mark smiled.

There was no helping it. Children nowadays matured early, and his son even more so.
