Chapter 165 What's More Important Than You?

When Logan Pattinson heard that, he was not willing to show weakness and yelled, "Mark Pattinson, watch who you’re yelling at! Don't think that I won’t dare to mess with you just because you’re in charge of M.K. You’re just a puppet!"

"Shut up! If you say one more word, I’ll kill you!" Mark shouted. At that moment, he did not have anywhere to vent his anger and Logan kept wanting to provoke him.

When Logan saw Mark’s anxious red eyes, he was a little scared. He was also very clear about the current situation. Although Mark was a "puppet", they could not control him and needed him at the company.

Logan only said this to agitate Mark.

With Mark looking like this, Logan was frightened and blinked his eyes. He said, "You don’t scare me...I’m not afraid of you!"

Although he said so, his voice still trembled in fear.

Mark was about to charge forward. Logan was so terrified that he immediately hid behind Justin Pattinson.

"Are you done making a scene?"

Justin’s words made the entire room fall into silence.

Mark looked at Logan with a murderous look in his eyes, as if he was warning him that he would really kill him if he dared to utter one more word.

Logan just hid behind his father quietly.

Justin looked at Mark and questioned in a cold voice, "Did you come back just to create trouble?"

Mark's brows furrowed tightly and he clenched his fists. He knew that they did not welcome him and never bothered to come back, but he was doing it for Lyla.

"Dad, you should know why I’m here!"

"You've got the wrong person!"

"Is that so? Then may I ask, where is the car registered under Mr. Roy’s name?"

Justin's face changed slightly as he said, "I’m not sure what you’re talking about!"

Mark laughed coldly and said, "Dad, now that things have come to this point, do you still want to deny it? Do you know what you're doing? This is kidnapping and it's against the law!"

"What are you talking about? I'm telling you that I don't know anything!" Justin shouted.

Mark’s eyes narrowed and looked at him incredulously.

Seemingly sensing that he had lost control, Justin twisted his head and shouted, "I'm telling you to be clear about what exactly you're talking about!"

"I know exactly what I'm talking about, Dad. If you let her go now, I can pretend that nothing happened, but if..."

"If not?"

Mark pursed his lips and hesitated before speaking, "If you insist on doing so, I have no choice but to call the police!"

Slap!

Justin slapped Mark across the face and looked at him as he said, "Now that you’re all grown up, you want to threaten me? What? You want the police to come over and arrest me?"

Mark turned his face sideways and said, "I just don't want you to keep making mistakes!"

"I'm telling you it’s not me. Even if it was me, I wouldn't let her go!"

It looked like Justin had no intention of releasing Lyla.

Mark suddenly felt despondent and a sense of powerlessness that could not be described.

He always knew that he was not welcomed in the Pattinson family, but he still had some illusions due to their blood relations. However, at that very moment, all his illusions and expectations disappeared.

Mark looked at Justin and Logan's mocking smile. All of a sudden, he laughed instead of getting mad.

"In that case, Dad. Goodbye!"

After saying that, Mark did not say another word. He turned around and walked out.

Mark’s actions puzzled everyone. What did he mean by this?

He would stop pursuing this?

Or...

After Mark left, Logan called out from behind, "Dad, look at him! He's getting more and more arrogant now. You must do something!"

......

Mark walked out from the Pattinson family home and got into the car. He sat dumbfounded for a few seconds before taking out his phone.

"Help me check all the hidden properties under his name!"

......

After hanging up, Mark looked ahead. His gaze was unprecedentedly cold. He no longer had any attachment to the Pattinsons.

This home no longer belonged to him.

As he thought of this, he drove away and went back home.

Hansel, Gretel, and J were all waiting at home. As soon as they saw Mark return, the twins immediately went up to him.

"Daddy, you're back! How was it?"

"Daddy, what happened to your face?"

Gretel was attentive enough to discover the red mark on Mark's face.

Hansel’s eyes narrowed slightly with a hint of coldness. Even without an explanation, he could already guess what happened. He knew what kind of person his father was and only a few would dare to hit him or hurt him.

Thus, the only possibility was the Pattinsons...

Hansel's fists clenched up. He felt angry that someone hurt his loved one.

However, Mark did not notice Hansel’s anger. Otherwise, he would have been overjoyed with Hansel’s heart to protect him.

Mark pressed his lips together and thought, ‘This was the warmth that belonged to me.’

He said with a smile, "I'm fine!"

Gretel was heartbroken and said, "How can you be fine? Daddy, did he hit you?"

She had never addressed him as Grandpa because she knew that their existence was not welcomed. She also did not care for their acknowledgment because she did not like that family anyway.

Mark sat down and said, "It's okay."

Gretel immediately went up to him and said, "Daddy, I’ll help you soothe the pain!"

It was very heartwarming seeing that his daughter was so thoughtful.

At that moment, he saw Hansel sitting on the side with an angry face.

"What's wrong?"
