Chapter 187 Love That Seeped Into His Bones

Perhaps when he was young, he would have longed for a little care from Justin Pattinson, but by now, he had long since stopped wishing for it.

This time, what moved him was Lyla’s words.

His cold face hooked up in a rare warmth again.

Lyla Lowe...

That name was very beautiful.

Her appearance warmed his life.

Mark thought to himself, he might not be able to express his love for Lyla with one sentence, so the only thing he could do was to stay by her side for life and explain it to her with time.

That afternoon, Mark thought a lot.

At first, he was attracted by Lyla, then it was Hansel and Gretel who made him more certain about this woman because he did not want Hansel and Gretel to live in an incomplete family like he did. He fell in love with her completely when he used his life to save her, and now, this woman had burrowed right into his bones.

It happened bit by bit, but looking back, so much had happened.

Mark felt that the only thing he was glad for in his life was that he fell in love with Lyla Lowe.

……

In the afternoon after work, Lyla saw that her face looked much better. Fortunately, the company had ice cubes she could use to press on her face, so it did not look as bad as it did, and there were no traces left after she covered it with foundation. Lyla was relieved.

She agreed to meet Hansel at the hospital entrance, who solemnly handed the soup to Lyla. “Mummy, you can use this to present as a gift!”

Lyla. “Good work!”

“As long as you and Daddy are well, I’ll be relieved!”

Lyla laughed at how mature the words sounded. “Aren’t you going in?”

“I won’t go in and disturb your little moment!”

“Alright then!” Lyla nodded and walked towards the ward without him.

When she arrived, Mark had been sitting on the bed waiting for her for a long time.

When he saw her enter, he looked at her face immediately, but when he could not see any traces of it, he pretended to look away carelessly.

“You’re finally here. If you were any later, I’d have gone straight to the company!” Mark said to her.

“It’s not like you don’t know what time I get off work. Besides, it’s rush hour now. All the roads are congested, okay?” Lyla put the soup in front of him and gave him a bowl.

“Drink up. Hansel used a lot of time to make it!”

Mark looked at the bowl of soup but did not take it. Instead, he asked, “When are you going to personally make soup for me to drink?”

“I’m afraid you’ll cry if you drink it!”

“Don’t worry, I’ll endure even if it’s hard to drink. The most important thing is your sincerity!” Mark’s eyes were filled with love.

“You can endure, but the kids can’t. For fear of the kitchen catching fire and for safety’s sake, I’d better wait obediently!”

Mark rolled his eyes at that. “Are you a woman?”

“From head to toe, minus my skills in the kitchen, which part of me doesn’t look like a woman?”

Mark. “...”

He dropped the topic and looked at the soup in front of him. “Feed me!”

“Don’t you have hands?”

“I do, but they were injured to save you!”

Lyla. “...” Well, what else could she say?

When she lifted it to his mouth, Mark said in disdain, “Lyla, have you never fed others before?

“You didn’t even blow the soup. What if I get scalded?”

What a drama queen. Lyla had no choice but to blow on the soup, and Mark sipped it with satisfaction.

Then, he looked at Lyla with a somewhat unnatural expression. “Who else have you fed before?”

“Those two at home!”

“There’s no one else besides them?”

Lyla thought about it for a moment. “There is!”

“Who?”

“My mom!”

Lyla. “...Besides that, is there no one else?”

“Nope!”

“Then, your mom…?”

“She was gone before I became an adult”

Mark was stunned. “Did I say something wrong?”

“No, it was a long time ago!” Lyla said casually. There was no sadness visible on her face.

Mark looked at her. “Don’t worry, from now on, you’ll have me and the kids!”

Lyla smiled. So far, that was indeed the luckiest part of her life.

“Eat!”

Mark nodded. Lyla fed him bite by bite. Looking at her face, although it was not obvious, it could still be seen.

After drinking the soup, Mark said, “I want to leave the hospital today!”

“Why?”

“Anyway, it’s already been settled. The doctor said I can recuperate at home!”

“You can?”

“I can!” Mark said with absolute certainty.

Lyla looked at him with some suspicion. “Well, the doctor has the final say!”

Mark shrugged. “Fine, you can go ask!”

Thus, after the doctor came over, Lyla asked about it. The doctor watched the situation and said, “There’s no problem if you’re discharged as long as you recuperate well and don’t do anything strenuous like… Ahem. In short, don’t do too much taxing exercises!”

The doctor’s words sounded fine, but the words that followed could not help but make others blush.

Lyla was embarrassed.
