Chapter 194 As Expected Of My Woman

Seemingly sensing the movement there, everyone looked over and froze when they saw Lyla, obviously guilty.

They all acted like they had not said anything. They were just minding their own business.

Lyla walked over and looked at them with a smile. “I hope that you all won’t delay your work when gossiping. Everyone, do your best!”

“Lyla, why are you cheering them on?”

“What else should I do?”

“Aren’t you encouraging their bad behavior now?”

“If they really do that, then that’ll only show that they’re too brainless!” Lyla said.

Lily nodded. “That’s true, but Lyla, the person who spread this incident is really too much!”

Lyla smiled indifferently. “Don’t worry, that person will come to me soon!”

At first, Lily did not believe her.

However, on the second day, Lyla was just about to start the meeting when someone from the design department appeared.

“Ms. Lowe!”

Lyla looked over. It was none other than the person who had seen them in the office that day. Lyla did not know exactly what department she was from.

Turning around, the woman walked up to her. “Ms. Lowe, you have to believe me. I didn’t spread those rumors!”

Lyla was completely indifferent and leaned comfortably on the table. “And?”

“It really wasn’t me, Ms. Lowe. Mr. Pattinson wants to fire me now. You promised to help me!” The person seemed to cry.

Lyla pursed her lips and looked at her. “What’s your name?”

“Oh, Julia Lawson!”

“Well, Julia, did Mr. Pattinson say he was going to fire you because of this matter?”

“Um, although he didn’t say that, what other reason would it be?”

Lyla gave a disdainful smile. “In your eyes, is Mr. Pattinson a person who doesn’t know how to distinguish between work and private matters?”

“I… That’s not what I meant!”

Lyla smiled. “You came running to me before you even know why you’re being fired. It seems that you’re just making what you want to hide obvious!”

“I…”

“If you really want to know why you’re being dismissed, ask the personnel department. If that doesn’t work, then you can ask Mr. Pattinson directly, but not me!” Lyla said word by word.

“But—”

“No matter what position I have or what my relationship with Mr. Pattinson is, I will not interfere with him at work, so it’s useless for you to come to me!”

Lyla’s statements left Julia at a loss for words and she stared straight at Lyla.

“Alright, if there’s nothing else, we’ll be starting the meeting!” Lyla directly ordered her to leave.

Julia stood where she was. The pitiful eyes she had just a moment ago suddenly became ruthless, and she finally stomped her foot and left.

Lyla ignored her anger and urgently called everyone for a meeting.

No one in the design department dared to say anything. They found that Lyla was becoming increasingly amazing, and no one mentioned that matter again.

After the meeting, Lyla looked at them and said after some consideration, “In addition, I have a little personal topic to talk about!”

Everyone looked at her.

“Regarding the recent rumors circulating within the company, I think that there’s nothing wrong with couples doing something intimate, but it’s a bit too much to create rumors, exaggerate, and intentionally destroy the image of the company and Mr. Pattinson. I believe that a wise man does not believe in rumors!”

As soon as she finished speaking, everyone was silent.

No one dared to speak.

“Also, I’d prefer for everyone to discuss with me directly whatever they have to say, because I can accept whatever they say, but do not slander and spread rumors behind my back!”

Lyla was seated and spoke up when she saw no one speaking. “Can we ask you anything?”

“Yes, I believe that everyone here also doesn't wish for others to point fingers behind their backs. I prefer to say things straight. It’s fine if it’s unpleasant, but at least be frank and honest!”

“Then, I have a question!”

“You and I already have such a good relationship. What else don’t you know?” Lyla retorted.

Her candid words made the others relax a little.

“Director Lowe, is what you said true?”

“Of course!”

“Then, can I ask?”

“Sure!”

“If you’re saying all this, is it an admission that you’re together with Mr. Pattinson?” The colleague asked cautiously.

As soon as her words were spoken, everyone looked at everyone else. No one knew what was going to happen next.

Lyla smiled and nodded. “That’s right!”

Her unexpected response made everyone surprised and relieved.

“When did you two get together?”

“In the days where Mr. Pattinson and I disappeared, we were both in the hospital. He was the one who saved my life. It started from that incident when we were in the hospital!”

“In other words, the damsel in distress got together with the hero after he saved her?”

Lyla laughed. “You can say that!”

“Was what happened in the office also true?”

“Only half-true. It’s not that exaggerated. We were just a little intimate!”

She really did answer everything that she was asked so that people would not say anything behind her back. The tense atmosphere in the conference room suddenly changed into a relaxed one.
