Chapter 198 Hansel’s Surprise Attack On M.K. Corporation

They originally wanted Carmen to stay the night, but she left after midnight.

Lyla and Mark did not insist, because they also knew why she was going back.

The next day.

Early in the morning, the two people went to the company together.

Lyla had just entered the office when Zana from the personnel department came over. “Director Lowe, this is the newly recruited deputy director. I’ve placed the information here!”

“Alright!”

Lyla was not in a rush to read it, so she put it aside first and tidied up her office. It was a habit she cultivated since she was abroad.

Before 10:00 am, Lyla was talking to them about the recent competition when a figure walked in. Everyone was instantly stunned when they saw her. Their eyes all went to her in unison.

Lyla realized something off and turned as well, and also froze for a moment when she saw the person behind her.

Kathleen Turner?

Why was she here?

Kathleen was dressed in white casual style clothes. Her long hair draped softly behind her and her makeup looked clean.

It was different from her previous style.

However, it could not hide her beautiful face.

Kathleen looked at them and smiled. “Hello, everyone. I’m Kathleen Turner, the new deputy director!”

Deputy director???

Everyone looked at each other and started discussing. Everyone in the design department knew about what happened between them, but she came back to work now?

Even Lyla was surprised.

She thought of the resume that Zana gave her in the morning that she had not opened yet. So, the deputy director of the design department was Kathleen Turner?

Kathleen stood there indifferently with a cool smile on her mouth. “I believe there’s no need for me to do introductions. I know that I’ve had a lot of misunderstandings with everyone in the past, but I hope that you can forgive me and work together with me in the future!”

No one spoke. They all looked at Lyla’s expression.

After all, she was the lady in charge here.

Lyla also smiled. “Ms. Turner, have you reported to the president?”

“Not yet. I’ll go now!”

“Alright, go ahead!”

Kathleen nodded. “Alright!”

Just as she was about to leave, she suddenly remembered something and walked over to Lyla. “Ms. Lowe, I know there have been many misunderstandings between us, but my family fell and I need this job to support myself. I hope that you don’t misunderstand me!”

“Of course not. As long as you work well, I won’t misunderstand you!”

“That’s good!”

Then, Kathleen turned and started walking towards Mark’s office.

Just as she left, the office became a mess. A few people who had good relations with Lyla said, “There’s no need to say anything. The reason she came back is obvious. She’s just revealing what she intends to hide!”

“Yeah, why doesn’t she go to other companies instead? Why must she come here?”

“Lyla, you have to keep an eye on her. The more she says that, the more suspicious she is!”

At the same time, Lily frowned and looked at Kathleen, finding her somewhat familiar.

“Have you guys noticed that she looks very similar to someone?”

“Similar?”

“Yeah!”

Several colleagues thought, then someone said, “She looks like Lyla!”

“Her dressing style is similar to Lyla’s!”

When she said that, several people suddenly realized. “No wonder it looks familiar!”

Actually, Lyla could tell from the first time she saw Kathleen. However, there were no ripples in her eyes now, and no problems could be seen.

“Alright, everyone back to work. No matter what, I hope that you’ll achieve good results in the competition!” Then, Lyla went back to her office.

Looking at the information on the table, Lyla picked it up and looked at it.

Kathleen had indeed come in through the examination. It seemed that she did not study design for nothing. She had some skills.

Now, it depended on what Mark would do.

In Mark’s office.

He looked at the person in front of him and frowned before finally saying, “I’m sorry, but I can’t hire you!”

“Why?”

“There’s no reason!”

“So, you won’t even give me a chance?”

Mark frowned. “Kathleen Turner, you should know that you won’t be welcomed here!”

“I came here to work, not to be welcomed!” Kathleen said and played the sympathy card. “The Turner family fell, my mom is in the hospital, and my dad is still locked up. Now, I’m the only one who can support my mom’s medical bills!”

“You can go somewhere else!”

“You think I don’t want to? I tried, but they all know my father’s identity and aren’t willing to take me in. I had no choice but to come here!

“Do you mean that you really can’t forgive me because of the past?” Kathleen asked Mark, showing her pitiful nature.

Mark pursed his lips. “I can give you a sum of money to get you out of here!”

Hearing this, Kathleen sneered. “So, are you dismissing me or pitying me?”

“I’m doing it for your own good!”

“If you’re really doing it for my own good, then let me stay here and work. I want to make money and support myself by my own efforts!”

Mark. “...”

“I know that things happened in the past, so you might not believe me. You’re the president here and whatever you say goes. If you say no, then I have no choice. In that case, I’ll leave first!” Then, Kathleen turned around and left.

“Wait!” Mark said.

Kathleen turned around. “Is there anything else?”

“In that case, you can stay here and work!”

“Y-You’re agreeing?”

Mark nodded.

Kathleen smiled. “Ma… Mr. Pattinson, thank you. I’ll definitely work hard!”

Mark did not speak and nodded. “Go to work!”
