Chapter 218 Kathleen Disappeared With Gretel

After a glance, Mark frowned. “Hansel’s department specially made this; no one knows how to use it other than him.”

“What should we do?”

“We’ll go back to Hansel right away, maybe he can find her,” Mark said.

Lyla nodded. Mark quickly turned the car around and sprinted back home. This time around, Lyla did not feel the speed in his driving, she felt it was too slow.

Her heart felt heavy and she could not describe it with words.

……

Hansel did not sense anything wrong from the short call, he was talking to Lingo about Hell’s Angel’s next step and the plans for the future.

It was until Lyla and Mark came back nervously, he noticed something went wrong.

“Daddy, Mommy, what’s wrong?”

Mark took a deep breath and said, “Use your GPS and locate Gretel.”

“What’s wrong with Gretel?”

“She said she’s going to the office to surprise your mommy but she didn’t show up and we can’t find her anywhere, she’s not answering her phone. Hurry up and locate her,” Mark said.

Hansel reacted with a serious look. Without further ado, he started to use the watch to locate Gretel.

It was then Lingo said, “Gretel left her watch with me yesterday.”

Everyone was silenced and speechless for a moment.

They did not know how to react or what to say.

Lingo realized how serious the situation was. “She said she wanted an upgrade and linked it to mine, so she gave it to me for the necessary upgrades.”

Her words cut off their last hope.

The atmosphere plunged into silence for a moment there, no one knew how to react.

Lyla tightened her lips and forced herself to calm down. She should not assume the worst case scenario just yet, maybe the girl was just lost or forgot about the timing.

However, even her own excuse failed to convince herself.

Lingo then said, “I’ll go to Piers and see whether they are together or not. If not, I’ll contact everyone in Hell’s Angel to find her.”

She then left in a hurry.

Hansel did not know what to say to console Lyla either. “Mommy, don’t worry, Gretel will be fine.”

Lyla forced a smile on her face. She wanted to believe it either but she could not control her mind from thinking about the worst.

…..

It had been a day since Gretel went missing.

Lyla was up the whole night and she was certain that Gretel did not just go missing because she forgot about the time, something bad happened to her.

For some reason, Lily got the news and she called Lyla on the second day.

“Lyla, don’t worry. Gretel is a smart girl, she will definitely try her best to contact you,” Lily said. It was already too late to say that Gretel would be fine and since Lily was a straightforward person, she might as well speak her mind.

Lyla took a deep breath. “I know she will. Don’t worry, I’m fine.”

“Mhmm. Okay. Speaking of which, after you took the day off, Kathleen didn’t come into the office as well,” Lily said.

Lyla frowned. “She didn’t come into the office today?”

“Yeah. She left in a hurry yesterday and had not shown up until now. I’ve tried calling her but she’s not picking up. We have to cover for her…”

Kathleen left in a hurry yesterday and coincidentally Gretel went missing yesterday.

Lyla did not want to link the two matters together but the coincidence was uncanny, she could not help but think about it.

“Lyla, Lyla, are you still there?” Lily asked from the other end of the call.

Lyla regained her senses. “Yeah I’m still here. When did Kathleen leave yesterday?”

“When? Hmmm, I think about 1:00 p.m to 2:00 p.m. yesterday. I heard that she left in a hurry and did not even tell us where she’s going.”

Afternoon 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.?

It was when Gretel should arrive at the office.

The coincidence was uncanny.

“Lily, I got something to take care of. Talk to you later.” Lyla hung up the phone.

Kathleen, Kathleen…

Lyla scrolled her phone for Kathleen’s number and gave the woman a call. No matter what happened, she must confirm something that troubled her mind.

However, what she got was a mechanical voice, telling her that the number was out of service at the moment.

Lyla’s heart clumped together tightly.

Katheleen was the last person that she wished to have anything to do with Gretel’s missing.

She knew the grudge between her and Kathleen and she knew that if Kathleen was responsible for Gretel’s missing, Gretel might really be in danger.

Her heart hurt as if it was stabbed by a thousand needles.

Gretel! Please be fine! You must be fine!

She could not think of anyone who could have contacted Kathleen other than Arden, so she went to him.

Ever since Arden was bailed out, he had been rejecting meetings. He locked himself in his home but Lyla managed to find out where he lived and got to him.

Arden looked the same but the warm and delicate face of his had lost its colors. This time, because of his mistake, his company had suffered a great loss and he was dismissed from his position of CEO.

When he saw Lyla, his eyes glittered with hope. “What is it?”

“I have something to ask you.”
