Chapter 254 Logan Secretly Following Hansel

When J heard that Mark was back, he was ecstatic.

That was because since Mark handed over the company to him, he had not had a good night’s sleep.

It was not easy being the acting president of the company. Although he had the authority, he did not have Mark's aura and wisdom, so he was exhausted during this period.

He swore that he would never want to stand in as president again. He just wanted to be an assistant or secretary.

Thus, when he knew that Mark had returned, J rushed directly to Mark’s house.

Mark was pestering Lyla to continue lovemaking when the doorbell rang nonstop.

He wanted to ignore it, but the doorbell kept ringing, so he rushed downstairs.

Lyla also thought something was wrong and followed.

Who knew that when Mark opened the door, he saw J standing there. He did not even get the chance to be mad before J cried.

"Mr. Pattinson..."

J looked like he finally saw his long-lost family and bawled his eyes out, looking very aggrieved.

Lyla did not know how to react to this.

Mark blinked his eyes and thought, ‘What the hell is this? I didn’t even start scolding him yet!’

J walked in and sat on the sofa as he continued to cry.

He was showing his grievance.

Lyla had never before seen a man "crying" like this.

It was hilarious!

Mark asked in a stern voice, "Are you done?"

J froze, then glanced at Mark and continued to cry out, "Mr. Pattinson, you finally came back...I can’t stand it anymore!"

Lyla could not help but laugh, then went to pour a glass of water for him. She said, "Here, hydrate yourself to replenish your tears!"

J was speechless.

Only then did he stop wailing and looked at Mark aggrievedly.

"You're finally back!"

"What happened?"

"Being the acting president is too difficult. Those shareholders won’t stop pestering me, so you should go back as soon as possible." J begged.

Mark rolled his eyes at him and said, "I thought you got your heart broken!"

"This is much more serious than a breakup. Mr. Pattinson, I can now understand and experience your pain!" J looked at him with puppy dog eyes.

Mark interrupted him with a deadly glare and said, "Don't compare me with you!"

"Then why didn't you tell me earlier that you were back? I haven't had a break in a long time, much less a good night's sleep. Look at my dark eye circles!"

As he said this, J touched his eyebags to show Mark.

Mark was not bothered to take a closer look at him. He looked to the side and said, "What’s all the fuss?"

J continued, "Mr. Pattinson, I just want to be an assistant. I really can’t be the acting president anymore, so please take it back!"

Mark rolled his eyes and said, "Look at your wimpy face. You’ve been with me for so long and learned nothing?"

J asked, "Mr. Pattinson, if everyone can be the president, won’t you be redundant?"

Mark shot him a look. J realized what he just said and immediately changed his words.

"I mean, not everyone can be the president because it requires a combination of power and wisdom. Mr. Pattinson, you’ve worked hard!"

Lyla also rolled her eyes at J sucking up to Mark.

She turned to J and asked, "Can’t you be a little more truthful?"

J looked back at Lyla and gave her a look for her not to expose his act.

Mark looked at him and asked, "So what?"

"So will you please go back to the office now?"

Mark continued, "And then?"

J suddenly turned his frown upside down and said, "If it’s possible, I’ll appreciate a few days off..."

He looked at Mark expectantly.

Mark raised his eyebrows and asked, "Can’t you see that I’m injured?"

"Huh?"

Mark asked again, "So do you think I can go back now?"

"But..."

"Or do you want my wound to get infected?" Mark kept pressing.

"I..."

"You only need to answer, yes or no!"

J could not bring himself to say what he wanted to. Seeing Mark like this, he just obediently answered, "Of course not!"

Mark said, "Then it’s settled. You can go back to the office now!"

Huh?

J froze.

This...

Mark raised his eyebrows and asked in a stern voice, "Why aren’t you leaving?"

J looked at Mark. His mind was blank and he did not know what to say, so he got up and walked outside slowly.

Mark said, "Remember to close the door!"

"Okay."

J shut the door behind him and stood in place. Only then did he react.

‘That’s not right.’

‘I haven’t achieved my goal yet.’

‘Why did I leave?’

After J returned to his senses, he looked at the door and pleaded, "Mr. Pattinson, it's not that..."

He wanted to explain, but the door remained shut.

Lyla looked at Mark and helplessly shook her head. She said, "Look at that poor boy!"

Mark was not bothered. He grabbed her shoulders and said, "Let’s go back to bed!"

She was dumbfounded.

J stood at the door and felt like crying.
