Chapter 261 Do You Really Care About Her?

Upon seeing that the lady seemed to like Lyla that much, Lily took the opportunity to say, “Hey beauty, in this case, will there be any discounts?”

The lady looked at Lyla and nodded with a smile. “Of course, if you want it, then of course!”

Lily laughed and gave Emmy a look. The two of them then began to shop freely.

Lyla, “...”

‘These two inhumane people.’

They bought a bunch of things. When they left, the lady also gave them the latest freebies and made Lily and Emmy thrilled.

“Lyla, I didn’t even realize that you’ll have such a use now!” said Lily.

Emmy nodded and looked at Lyla. “Oh yeah, I have a bag that I like. Why don’t you accompany me to take a look at it and see if I can get a discount?”

Lyla, “... Aren’t you afraid that you’ll run into someone that dislikes me and then scams you?”

“Do you think that I’m crazy? I won’t buy it if it’s too expensive!”

“Are there even people like you two who’ll use their friend like this?” Lyla asked.

“The point of having friends is to use them, right?” Emmy asked back and looked at Lily. “Don’t you think so too?”

Lily nodded. “I agree!”

The two of them then high fived right in front of Lyla.

Lyla felt helpless and did not know what to say.

“Come on, let’s go, I’ll treat you all to a meal since there are that many discounts!” said Lyla. They then went to eat together happily.

The news that Mark was going to get married felt like checking in for the company’s meeting. There would be new updates every day. Not only that, it would be highlighted without fail as if people would never get bored of it.

……

Meanwhile, in a certain detention center.

Arden had been inside for so long that he looked weary and had lost his previously ruthless look. Upon seeing the news and Lyla’s photo, he no longer felt angry and smiled in relief.

‘In the end, you still belonged to someone else.’

Even so, he had given in.

He just wanted her to live well.

Perhaps he would not even have the chance to ever see her again in this life. However, the two words, ‘Lyla Lowe’, would always be engraved in his heart.

Perhaps he would never mention her again, but this did not mean that he had forgotten about her. It just meant that people who did not belong to him would be forever buried in his heart.

‘Lyla.’

‘You need to be happy.’

‘Please be happy!’

…...

What Lyla did not expect was that someone would always ruin her life when it had just become comfortable.

Andrew Lowe called Lyla through the phone.

Lyla looked at her phone and hesitated, but she still answered it. “Hello, Dad!”

“Lyla, how has it been? Are you busy now?”

“It’s not bad!”

“It’s been a while since you last came back for a meal. I already asked someone to make your favorite dishes, so why don’t you come home to eat?” Andrew said through the phone.

Lyla had been gone for a long time but Andrew had never called her until now. Now that he suddenly asked her to go home for a meal, she could already guess what his purpose was without him saying it.

It must be because he had seen the news lately.

She thought about it and said, “Sorry, I don’t have the time today!”

“Uhh…” Andrew was obviously stunned for a moment there.

“How about tomorrow morning?” Lyla said.

Only then did Andrew let out a breath of relief. “Sure sure, tomorrow then. I’ll be waiting for you!”

“Mmhm!”

They hung up the call after a short, simple conversation.

Lyla thought about it and decided to go back home the next day.

Meanwhile, Mark had been busy recently with the company and the wedding. He always had to go out early and come home late, even Lyla did not have the chance to talk to him.

When Lyla woke up the next morning, Mark had already left.

In the past two days, Hansel and Gretel had been following Lingo and seemed to be busy with something. Thus, Lyla planned to go back home by herself.

Mark had bought a car for her in the past. After thinking about it, Lyla just drove back directly.

Andrew was already waiting at home early in the morning. He waited for quite a while but never saw Lyla. He was so anxious that he was about to call her. Unexpectedly, a car drove in at this moment.

It was a Rolls-Royce.

Andrew was stunned when he saw the car.

Who was it?

Why did they come to his house? Just as he was thinking about it, the car stopped. Andrew finally got back to his senses when he saw Lyla get out of the car.

It was her.

He only drove a BMW, who knew that Lyla would…

Andrew walked outside quickly.

“Lyla, you’re back!”

Upon seeing Andrew, Lyla smiled slightly. “Dad!”

“What? It’s, it’s just you here?” Andrew was surprised.

The person that he looked forward to coming, did not come together with her.

“Yeah, it’s just me. Why? What’s the matter?” Lyla asked, “who were you expecting, Dad?”

“No, no, I was just wondering why my dear grandchildren didn’t come.”
