Chapter 306 Finding The Location

The door was knocked open. Mark and Hansel heard some noise outside and were about to go out. Right at that moment, Piers returned with Gretel.

Upon seeing them, Hansel’s face sank. “What happened?”

“We were ambushed when we were at the restaurant!”

“Ambushed? How are you? Do you have any injuries?” Hansel asked worriedly.

Piers shook his head.

Gretel also shook her head. “I'm fine, but Lingo rushed out with my gun!”

Upon hearing this, Hansel frowned and took a glance at Mark.

“You guys, stay here and don't go out! I'll go take a look!” Mark said as he walked out.

“Daddy, be careful!” Gretel reminded him worriedly.

……

“Do you know who they are?” Hansel looked at them and asked.

Piers shook his head. “I don’t know, but I think it’s Felix’s men!”

Hansel narrowed his eyes. “Why do you think so?”

“Who’d want us dead other than him?” Piers asked.

Hansel fell into silence. In the boy’s heart, he really did not want to believe that this was all Felix’s doing.

Even if they were no longer on the same terms as before, Hansel still found it hard to believe that Felix would want their lives. Felix was the one who had watched him grow up.

There was a pain in his heart, but he did not show it. This was not the time to be weak.

At that moment, the door was knocked open with a ‘bang’ as Lingo walked in.

Hansel was relieved upon seeing that she was safe.

“Damn it! They got away!” Lingo said in anger.

Hansel had an indescribable feeling and just looked at her. “It’s alright as long as you’re fine!”

“You think that they can hurt me with their capabilities?”

“We’re out in the open while they’re hidden in the shadows. They just have to come at us a few more times if they want to hurt us!” said Hansel.

Lingo also understood this upon hearing his words.

“Then what should we do now? Should we move to another spot?”

“It doesn’t matter where we move to. They will still be able to find us!”

“Then what? Are we just going to stay here and wait for our deaths?” Lingo asked frustratedly.

Hansel pressed his lips together. He did not say a word as he was thinking about something.

“I think that we should just get someone to kill Felix, then everything will be settled!” said Lingo.

Hansel, “...”

Gretel, “...”

Both of them did not reply to her. They really did not know what to say. However, they could tell that Lingo was actually angry now.

At this moment, Gretel said sadly, “Even now, I still can’t believe that Felix would want us dead!”

Lingo looked at her and reminded her that this was indeed a fact. “You’re not even Felix’s biological daughter. Besides, you’re now helping his love rival to snatch away his beloved woman, so do you think he’ll still be reluctant to do it?"

“I still won’t believe it!” Gretel said firmly. Even though Hansel and Gretel were not Felix’s biological children, Felix still treated them no different than his own children. Felix was only saying those hurtful words because he was angry, which Gretel could understand.

Gretel would not believe that Felix would want to kill her, no matter what.

“You —”

Just as Lingo was about to say something, Hansel asked, “What if Felix’s target isn’t the two of us?”

Gretel looked at him, stunned.

Even if Felix would not kill the two of them, he might still kill the others in their group. It might be Lingo or Mark...

“I'm going to find him!” Gretel said as she turned around and left.

“Stop!” Hansel said.

Gretel paused her footsteps. Although Hansel was only born a minute earlier than Gretel, she was still very obedient to him.

“It's useless to go now. Felix won't meet you!” Hansel said.

“But!”

“No buts! Now that we’ve come to this point, there’s nothing we can do. There are some things that we’re better off not knowing!” Hansel said.

Gretel was silent.

Indeed, it was better to stay ignorant about some things than to know them clearly. At the very least, they could still deceive themselves from reality.

Lingo could not bear to say anything else upon seeing them like this. Although cutting ties with Felix should be Hansel and Gretel’s first step, this was still too cruel to them.

Lingo had once been their age, so how could she not know that kind of pain? She felt sympathetic towards Hansel and Gretel.

“Alright, this is not the time to be talking about something like this. We should get back to thinking about our next move, right?”

Hansel suddenly remembered something, he looked at Lingo and asked, “Where’s my daddy?”

“He’s outside dealing with some things!”

Hansel nodded. “In my opinion, no matter where we go, Felix will definitely be able to find us, if all this is really his doing. After all, this is his territory!”

“So?”

“The most dangerous place is the safest place!”

“What you mean is, we’ll just continue staying here?” Lingo asked as she pointed towards the floor.

Hansel nodded.

“You sure?”

“I’m sure!” Hansel said firmly, “If Felix really wanted to do all this, then it’ll be useless no matter how much we try to hide unless we leave this place!”

“Then let’s leave this place!”

Hansel, “...”
