Chapter 310 Lingo Is Furious

It took a great effort for Piers and Lingo to bring Mark back.

More precisely, it was Piers who managed to bring Mark back.

Lingo could not care less.

Upon seeing them returning, Hansel and Gretel walked out. Gretel felt much better after venting.

Life had to go on, so no matter how tough it was, they had to look forward.

“What happened?” Hansel looked at them and asked.

“He got drunk and was even flirting with some woman at the bar!” Lingo said without a care.

Hansel walked over. He looked at Mark, who was now unconscious, and frowned.

Gretel also walked over and took a look. She then looked at Hansel and asked, “What should we do?”

Hansel thought for a moment and looked at Piers. “Help me to send Daddy back to his room!”

Piers nodded. He then picked up Mark again and carried him upstairs.

Lingo looked at Hansel and Gretel and knew that they were not in a good mood. She thought for a moment and said, “Actually, your daddy didn’t mess around. It’s that woman who was having malicious intentions toward him!”

Hansel would not believe that Mark would mess around outside at all. Even if Mark really did, it just meant that he was devastated, so Hansel would not care much about it.

He looked at Lingo. “Good job, you’ve worked hard!”

In Lingo’s opinion, she would prefer Hansel to act bossier like he was before instead of him being polite.

Hansel being polite was because of his sadness. He did not know how to express himself.

Lingo thought of her younger self when she looked at Hansel and Gretel, but she did not know how to comfort them.

She was not good at this type of thing.

It seemed that Gretel could tell what Lingo was thinking. She then said, “You don’t have to be worried about us. We’re fine!”

Upon hearing Gretel’s words, Lingo nodded. She believed that they knew what they needed to know, but they just could not help it.

“I’ll be with Piers. Just give me a call if anything happens!” Lingo said.

Gretel nodded.

Piers walked downstairs and Lingo followed him.

Gretel looked at Hansel. “I’ll go prepare some soup to cure Daddy’s hangover!”

“I’ll do it!” Hansel said, “You should go take care of Daddy upstairs!”

Gretel nodded after hearing this. She then walked straight upstairs.

On the other hand, Hansel went into the kitchen to prepare the soup.

Mark laid in a weird position on the bed. He was utterly drunk.

Gretel helped him to take off his shoes awkwardly. Mark then suddenly turned over and threw up everywhere.

Gretel quickly walked over and patted Mark’s back upon seeing this.

“Lyla… Lyla…” Mark vaguely called out Lyla’s name.

Upon hearing this, Gretel’s eyes became watery.

She wiped away her tears as she looked after Mark…

Once Hansel came up and saw this scene, he walked over and fed Mark the soup immediately together with Gretel.

Sometimes, wounds could not be avoided, but one could try to numb themselves. After all, as long as one stopped thinking or hearing about it, they could act as they did not know anything. Maybe then, they would feel less sad…

“Brother, brother!” Gretel woke Hansel up.

Hansel woke up from his sleep. “What is it?”

“Daddy is gone again!” said Gretel.

Hansel frowned as he walked into Mark’s room. Indeed, Mark was not there anymore.

He frowned again.

They were not worried about Mark’s safety, but they were worried that Mark would give up on himself.

“It’ll be alright, don’t worry. Daddy will be fine!” Hansel comforted Gretel.

Gretel knew that he was just trying to comfort her even though he was still unsure what to do in his heart.

Mark continued to be like this for quite some time. He would always suddenly appear and disappear again. He would also spend most of his time at the bar getting drunk every day as if he wanted to drink himself to death.

Hansel and Gretel did not even have any chance to talk to Mark. Every time they saw him, he was always utterly drunk, so they had to spend the whole night taking care of him.

Seeing this made Lingo feel sorry for Hansel and Gretel.

In the past, even though Mark was out of town, J would pass any matters directly to him to make the decisions.
