Chapter 330 We’re Over

Soon, he arrived downstairs.

The car stopped, and Mark looked upstairs, seeing the lights that were still on. What he was feeling was indescribable.

How long had it been since he came here?

He had almost forgotten about this place, but since he was here, all the memories of the past resurfaced in his mind again.

After sitting for a few seconds, Mark pushed open the door, got out of the car, and ran wildly toward the upper floor.

That was because, in his opinion, Lyla was waiting for him.

She was always waiting for him.

At the door, Mark raised his hand and was just about to ring the doorbell, but he froze.

He did not know how or what to say.

It did not matter.

As long as he could see her, it was all good.

Thus, Mark rang the doorbell.

The rings followed one after another, hurried and fast.

“Coming!” A voice came from inside, and then the door was opened.

Seeing the person in front of him, Mark frowned. That was because the person was not the woman his heart wanted to see. It was a man?!

Kyle frowned upon seeing Mark. “Who are you looking for?”

Mark originally thought that he was overthinking it. Perhaps the house had been rented out. However, when he passed the door and saw the photo album in the living room, he knew that was not the case.

“Where’s Lyla?” He asked.

Kyle looked at him, finding him somewhat familiar. Then, he remembered the family photo of the four of them in the living room.

“You’re Mark Pattinson?” Kyle asked.

“You know me?”

Kyle smiled coldly. “I believe that only a few people don’t know a fickle person like you.”

Mark did not believe that Kyle’s sarcasm was just because of this because his eyes carried hate and an unfathomable resentment towards Mark.

“Where’s Lyla?” He continued to ask, not heeding Kyle’s sarcasm.

“She’s gone!”

“Gone? Gone where?”

“She went to a place you can’t find, Mark Pattinson. Since you’re getting engaged, just let Lyla go. She’s a good woman. A man like you is unworthy of her!” Kyle continued.

“This is a matter between me and her. It’s none of your concern!”

“Yes, it’s none of my concern, but I have a right to not tell you where she went!”

Finally, Mark could no longer hold back and pushed open the door, charging in.

“Lyla, where are you? Come out! Let me explain!”

“What are you doing? I’m telling you, you better get out now, or else I’ll call the cops!” Kyle stopped him.

“Lyla…” Mark rushed in. At that moment, Kyle grabbed him. “Get out now, or don’t blame me for getting rough!”

Seeing him like that, Mark also narrowed his eyes. “Get out of my way!”

“No!”

Mark tried his best to restrain his anger. “Weren’t you going to call the cops? Go ahead. This unit isn’t under your name at all. Call them if you can!”

Kyle’s expression darkened considerably, but he did not admit defeat. He looked at Mark. “What the hell do you want?”

“Let go of me!”

“Mark Pattinson, even if you had something with Lyla, that’s in the past. Right now, Lyla is my girlfriend, so have some dignity!” Kyle said.

His girlfriend...

Mark froze.

“What did you say? Say that again!”

“She’s now my girlfriend…”

With a bang, Mark’s fist slammed hard into his face. “She’s mine!”

Kyle turned and looked at Mark, and lunged at him. “You don’t deserve her!”

Thus, the two started to fight.

At that moment, the elevator chime sounded. Lyla and Amanda came back from shopping outside and arrived at the door to see this scene. The two of them froze and immediately rushed up.

“What are you two doing? Stop fighting! Stop it!” Amanda was the first to rush up.

Even if it was just his back, Lyla recognized that it was Mark.

She never thought that he found her.

Amanda could not stop them at all. Lyla walked in and put the things she bought on the table. “That’s enough. Stop fighting!”

Hearing Lyla’s voice, Mark and Kyle stopped.

Mark turned around and saw Lyla. At that moment, he did not know how to speak.

Lyla looked at them calmly. Mark had a wound at the corner of his mouth, and Kyle had a wound at the corner of his eye. It was clear that the two did not pull any punches when they fought.

“Why are you here?” Lyla asked Mark.

That one sentence put a hundred thousand miles between them.

Mark looked at her and walked up step by step. When he was in front of her, he pulled her into his arms without saying another word.

He had waited for this embrace for a long, long, long, long time.
