Chapter 329 Not Willing To Meet Him

“What’s wrong?” Amanda asked her in confusion.

“Um, see who it is before opening the door!” Lyla did not know how to say it, but she looked a little nervous.

Amanda was puzzled but did not say anything more. She nodded and walked over.

Through the peephole, Amanda excitedly opened the door after seeing who it was.

“Kyle, what are you doing here?”

Kyle stood at the door and looked at her, revealing a smile when he saw Lyla inside. “I was worried about you two, so I came to have a look!”

When Lyla saw Kyle, she was first surprised, and then disappointed.

Walking over, she looked at Kyle. “W-What brings you here?”

Kyle’s gaze landed on her body. “I was worried about you two, so I came to visit!”

“How did you know we’re here?” Lyla asked a silly question.

At that point, Amanda giggled from the side. “Well, I told him…”

Lyla glanced at Amanda and did not blame her, and simply said, “Come in and talk!”

Kyle walked in, holding a simple piece of luggage.

“Have you eaten yet?” Lyla asked.

“I ate a little on the plane!” Kyle said truthfully.

The implication was that he was not full.

“I’ll fix a bowl of noodles for you!” Lyla was about to leave.

“Ah ah ah, I’ll go!” Amanda said. “Lyla, with your cooking skills, I’m scared Kyle will get sick again. It’s better if I go. You two chat first!” Then, Amanda tactfully went over to the kitchen.

In the living room, Kyle and Lyla exchanged looks a little awkwardly.

“Have a seat!” Lyla said.

Kyle walked over and sat down.

“Why didn’t you tell me you were coming?” Lyla asked.

“If I did, would you have let me come?” Kyle asked.

Lyla did not know how to answer and smiled. “Your legs are on your body, so you can go wherever you want to go. How can I control you?”

Kyle lowered his eyes slightly and was just about to say something, but he swallowed his words when they came to his mouth.

“I came here this time to see you guys, but also to work!” He said.

“Work?” Lyla asked.

“Yep, a sailboat design company saw my qualifications and let me come here!” Kyle said.

Lyla nodded at that. “That’s great if it’s true, but what about Meadowston?”

“I can’t stay there all my life. I have to come out and see the world!”

Lyla nodded. “If that’s the case, I’ll support you!”

Kyle also smiled warmly. If he stayed here, he would be able to see Lyla from time to time.

This was the one thing that motivated him the most.

At that moment, Amanda came out from the kitchen carrying a bowl of noodles. She ran straight over. “Kyle, what did you say? You’re coming here to work?”

Kyle smiled at Amanda. “I heard that you’re making a good living over here, so of course I can’t fall behind!”

Amanda laughed. “That’s not true. I’m just a small-time designer!”

Kyle smiled. “I believe that you’ll become a famous designer one day!”

“I think so too!” Amanda grinned. She was not pampered or artificial in the slightest. “Okay, the noodles are ready. Dig in!”

Kyle was indeed hungry, so he started eating without another word.

Lyla sat by the side. Although she was looking at Kyle, her thoughts could not help but stray to Mark.

She did not know what Mark was doing at this moment, but in her heart, she had some longing.

After the meal, Kyle stood up. “In that case, I’ll go first!”

“Go? Where are you going?”

“I’ll find a hotel to stay in first!” Kyle smiled.

At that moment, Amanda looked at Lyla, and Lyla also stood up. “There’s still an empty room here. If you don’t mind, you can stay here. Don’t stay at a hotel. It’s not safe!”

“But, are you sure?”

“Isn’t it the same as the time I stayed at your place?” Lyla asked with a smile.

Kyle laughed at that.

“That’s right. It’s two women and one man living here. Don’t worry, there’s no problem!” Amanda smiled.

Only then did Kyle nod. “Okay then, I’ll stay here for now!”

“That’s more like it. In that case, the three of us can chat like before!”

The happiest person was none other than Amanda. She was indeed a simple girl who did not think too much.

……

At night.

Late at night when everyone was resting, Lyla lay in bed, tossing and turning and unable to fall asleep.

Her mind was filled with the moment she made eye contact with Mark. She did not know why she ran away. She should have gone up to him and said hi, but she still ran.

She could not forget Mark’s look the moment he saw her.

Deep down, emotions were hard to put into words.

At that moment, the cellphone on the table buzzed and vibrated.

She looked up and saw that it was a phone call.

Inexplicably, her heart trembled. She picked up the phone and looked at the number, but did not dare to answer.

That was because the number was Mark’s.

He found her.

Looking at the number, Lyla did not intend to answer it.

She closed her eyes and put the phone on silent.

Her phone continued to flash.
