Chapter 335 He Will Not Take No As An Answer

“What are you trying to do?” Lily warily stared at them and asked.

“What are we doing? What can we do?” The person retorted with a smile as he slowly came up. “We can forget about the whole thing as long as you keep me happy. Otherwise...” The person flashed a wicked grin.

“B*stard!” Emmy ran her mouth.

“What did you say?” The person’s face turned into a grimace.

“I’m calling you a b*stard!” Emmy bluntly yelled.

“B*tch!” Enraged, the person charged forward to give Emmy a slap.

Just then, Emmy cried out, “B*stard, I dare you to touch me!” She stormed right up.

Lyla and Lily were quick with their reflexes. They endured behind as Amanda and Emmy charged ahead.

Mark, who was following behind in his car, watched as the scene unfolded. He was beyond anxious, afraid that Lyla would be taken advantage of.

“Daddy!”

“What if something happens to your mommy?” Mark asked.

Taken aback, Hansel planned to give up on the struggle. However, the circumstances had now changed.

Lyla, Emmy, Amanda, and Lily besieged the three men and fought. It was a fight without any rules.

There was pulling, tugging on hair, and slapping with handbags. In short, the four women went at it crazily as they put up a fight against the three men.

This was a brawl that the women would certainly lose yet the three men were beaten to a pulp.

“Uh...” Hansel observed the incident, wholeheartedly believing for the first time that he would rather offend the vile than step on the toes of women.

How horrifying.

Mark was dumbfounded as well.

This...

He wanted to get out there and have Lyla’s back but the sight of the three men getting beaten up left wrinkles between Mark’s brows.

Nevertheless, he had never seen Lyla like this before. She had definitely let off some steam and seemed adorable at it too.

Bit by bit, the frown turned into admiration.

It was obvious that Mark was the protective kind. Everything was great and dandy as long as his people were unharmed. Most importantly, he was impressed and gave Lyla’s actions the stamp of approval.

“I’ll beat you to death, you b*stard. Here’s a good beating!” Emmy grabbed her handbag and smashed it on the person’s head.

While they were working off anger from the fight, two policemen arrived in a car.

“What are you people doing?”

They halted in motion at the sight of the police. Still the first to react, Emmy took the chance to bawl her eyes out.

“Mr. Officer, you have to back us up. These three hooligans are trying to take advantage of us,” Emmy cried amid sobs.

Keeping up with her, Amanda came forth and held Emmy in an act of consolement.

“Quit the crap.”

“Crap? What crap? Didn’t you say you wanted us to keep you happy?” Lyla asked.

“I...”

At a loss for words, the person glanced at the police in guilt. “No, you’re framing us. Mr. Officer, they were the ones beating us up.”

“Yes, that’s right.” The other two echoed the same view.

“There’s so many people in the streets. Why must we frame you instead of others? You’re the one who started it?” Lyla turned to the policemen. “Mr. Officer, you have to get to the bottom of this.”

Before the policeman could reply, Emmy bawled out, “I don’t want to live after being assaulted by you three thugs. I’m going to stand up to you to the bitter end!” Emmy wanted to charge up once more.

The sensible Lyla and Lilly stopped her and offered comfort.

By the looks of things, people would think the problem lies with these three men.

“You three, follow me to the station.”

“Mr. Officer, they started the fight.”

“Are you telling me that four women are capable of defeating you lot?”

“Exactly.” Lily concurred.

“But...”

“No buts. Move it. I’ll charge you with obstructing an officer carrying out his duties if you don’t move.”

The three men felt aggrieved.

They shot an angry look at Lyla’s group. Not only did they fail to get on with the ladies, but these men were also now being taken away by the police. How frustrating.

However, Emmy made a face to spite them.

“Mr. Officer, thank you. You are really nice. We need wise and great men like you in our country.”

“It is our duty, but a word of advice, it’s getting really late, and you should pay caution while you’re out and about. Also, offenders are often attracted to the vulnerable who have consumed alcohol. Please keep an eye out.”

“Alright, Mr. Officer. Thank you. We got it,” Emmy replied.

The policemen smiled and left.

With them gone and the police vehicle out of their sight, the four women burst out in laughter together.

It was sort of a mischievous laugh and the kind of guffaw that came after blowing off steam. All in all, it was invigorating.

Shoulder to shoulder, the four strolled ahead, lifting their voice to shout.

Mark continued to observe behind. Today, he witnessed another face of Lyla.

This was her after liberation.

However, he loved her more.

He realized that he fell in love all over again regardless of the different sides Lyla had shown.

Mature and confident, conniving and witty, plus now wild and insane were all her faces.

Mark loved them all to the point of no return.

He was overcome by the impulse to barge over there to hug and kiss her passionately.

It was a pity though. Mark had been looking for the chance, but God would not give it to him.

With Amanda, Lily, and Emmy refusing to leave, the four never did come down after heading upstairs.

“What’s the situation? Aren’t they leaving?” Mark anxiously enquired as he stared at Hansel and Gretel. The twins gave him a helpless shrug.

He had planned to go up there and come on strong.

Yet now...
