Chapter 339 The Unfairness Of The World

Mark passed Amanda’s information to Neil.

“This is the information about her from these past few years!” Mark said.

Upon seeing the document, Neil was stunned for a moment. He then immediately opened it.

After seeing it, Neil frowned.

“She’s adopted, grew up in Meadowston since she was young, 24 years old, blood type O and named Amanda Bowen!”

“Her age and blood type are correct, but everything else isn’t!” Neil said.

Mark looked at him and patted his shoulder. “I understand your feeling, but no matter what, you need to stay calm!”

“Do you also think that I’m overthinking this?” Neil said.

Mark thought about it for a moment. “If you look at it just based on her information, it seems so complete that you can’t find anything weird. However, the more complete something is, the more suspicious it’ll seem to us!”

“What are you trying to say?”

“If you want to know whether this is true or fake, then you can know it just by going to Meadowston to investigate, right? If she grew up there, then you’ve got the wrong person, but she didn’t… Then maybe there’s still a chance!”

Neil’s eyes narrowed when Mark said this.

“What you say sounds right!”

“Just go. I’ll look after her here. Nothing will happen to her before you come back!” Mark looked at him and said.

Neil looked at Mark with his eyes filled with reluctance and worry.

Although Neil was worried and reluctant to go, he still trusted Mark and nodded in the end.

……

After Neil left, Mark went downstairs.

Lyla was waiting for him in the room. “How is it?”

Mark raised an eyebrow. “It’s settled for now!”

“Who knew that there might be something between Amanda and Neil!” Even Lyla was surprised.

“Chloe was sent away by force last time while Neil searched for her crazily. After half a year, there was news about her death, but Neil never believed it. Therefore, now that she finally appeared, how could he not be excited?” Mark said.

“True, but is Amanda the person that he said?”

“We’ll know whether she is or not soon enough!”

Lyla nodded. At this moment, Mark stepped forward and looked at her. “Lyla, you’re my miracle!”

Lyla, “...”

“Don’t be so sentimental. I’m not used to it!”

“So, you prefer me being a little rough?”

Before Lyla could even say anything, Mark had already carried her. “In that case, I‘ll have my way!”

“Mark Pattinson…” Lyla said as she looked at him, feeling annoyed and amused at the same time.

“You've been walking around in front of me in such sexy clothing today. I’ve already been enduring it for a long time!” Mark said as he threw Lyla onto the bed, starting to show his wild behavior.

At this moment, Mark’s phone rang.

Upon hearing his phone ringing, Mark frowned and did not want to answer it. He just pretended to not hear it and continued what he wanted to do.

However, Lyla nudged him a little. “Your phone is ringing!”

“I’m not answering it!”

“What if something happened?”

“What can happen?”

“What if it’s something important?”

Mark thought about it for a moment and finally got up reluctantly. “Wait for me, dear!” Mark said and walked over to get the phone.

He just answered it impatiently without even looking at the number. “Hello…”

However, once he heard what the other party said, his expression immediately turned gloomy. “What did you say?”

Lyla watched him at the side and could feel that something was wrong. After the phone was hung up, she looked at Mark and asked, “What is it? What happened?”

“Delilah tried to commit suicide and is now hospitalized!”

Upon hearing this, Lyla also frowned.

“I need to go out for a while!”

“I’ll go with you!”

Mark nodded. The two of them then tidied up and rushed out.

Meanwhile, in the hospital.

When they arrived there, Ms. Davis was waiting at the door of the emergency room. She looked anxious.

“What happened?” Mark asked.

“Mr. Pattinson, you’re finally here!”

“What on Earth happened?”

Ms. Davis’ eyes were filled with rage as they spoke about this. “O. Corporation’s president invited our Ms. Collins over in the name of discussing a contract. However, he first insulted her and then assaulted her…” Before Ms. Davis could even finish, she could not bear to continue talking about it.

Mark frowned. Who knew that this would happen?

“That bastard!” Mark said.

“Mr. Pattinson, honestly, ever since the Master and Madam became ill, the responsibility of the entire company fell onto the Young Lady. The company’s situation is getting worse, so those shareholders won’t even listen to her. They even tried thinking of ways to make it hard for her. Although she’s the Young Lady of the Collins family and the chairwoman of the Collins Corporation, she always has to do things very cautiously in the company!”

Ms. Davis looked at Mark and continued, “And about the engagement matter… Mr. Pattinson running away during the engagement ceremony made Ms. Collins’ reputation even worse. Everyone took this chance to insult her. Even the shareholders of the company acted as if they were just watching a comedy…”

Ms. Davis looked at Mark’s eyes as she spoke. She also had some complaints about it.

Regarding that matter, Mark also knew that it was his fault, but he did not regret it. If he could choose, he would have used a better way to settle that matter. However, he just did not have the time to think during that moment.

“How is she now?”

“She’s being treated inside now!”

Mark nodded.

At this moment, Ms. Davis glanced at Lyla, but she did not say a word.

Lyla also glanced at her and said nothing.

“Mr. Pattinson, I’ll leave this to you. I’ll have to go back to bring over some things. The Master and Madam still don’t know about this matter yet. I’m afraid that they’ll be hurt!”
