Chapter 69 Do You Like Children?

‘That depends on my mood?’

The moment Mark Pattinson read those words, he felt like choking him to death.

[You’re dead!]

Hansel was speechless.

[Mr. Pattinson, please don’t be so violent. Tomorrow I still have a gift for you. Don’t you think the way you treat me is unfair?] Hansel replied. Then, he sent a pity-looking picture to him.

Mark Pattinson found it hard to imagine what kind of person he was dealing with.

Speaking of which, he grabbed the main point and asked, [What’s the gift?]

[It’s a wonderful gift!] Hansel said, [You’ll surely be thrilled about it!]

Mark Pattinson sneered. [All right. I’ll wait for you. If it’s not as thrilling as you’ve promised, I’ll despise you!]

[You won’t be disappointed!

[By the way, Mark, I’ve heard that you’re becoming a daddy, am I right?] Hansel asked. When he typed these words, he was very tempted to break into Mark Pattinson’s system.

At the mention of this, Mark Pattinson frowned. [You’re very well-informed!]

[Just to let you know that you’ve caught my attention!] Hansel replied.

[I have to thank you then!]

[You’re welcome. How do you feel knowing that you’re about to become a daddy, Mr. Pattinson?] Hansel felt nervous when he asked these questions. He was looking forward to hearing Mark Pattinson’s feedback.

To his disappointment, Mark Pattinson replied coldly in a few words only. [I have no feeling!]

[Don’t you like children?]

[Mhm!]

The word “Mhm” made Hansel’s heart sink. The feeling was indescribable. Still, he asked, [Why?]

[They are way too noisy!]

Hansel was speechless.

He found Mark Pattinson very despicable. Come on, even Hansel himself also had to go through that age!!!

Unbeknownst to Hansel, he did not know what Mark Pattinson had experienced in his adolescent days…

An experience that he would never wipe out from his memory for the rest of his life!

The feeling of not knowing if, after Mark Pattinson knew about him and Gretel as his own flesh and blood, would welcome them with open arms unnerved him.

Nevertheless, the future was out of his control. At the moment, he could only take one step at a time.

[I need to excuse myself now. I still have other work to follow up on. I'll go offline now!] Hansel replied.

[Where’s your so-called gift?] Mark Pattinson asked. He was very curious about what kind of gift he was about to receive from him.

[You’ll know by tomorrow!]

[Why must it be tomorrow?!]

[This is because tomorrow will be more fun!]

Mark Pattinson [...All right, I’ll wait for you!]

[All right. If that’s the case, go to bed early!] After that, Hansel sent a kissing image and went offline.

Mark Pattinson was stupefied for a few minutes in front of his computer screen. After that, he gave up, switched off his computer, and took a rest.

The next day.

A shocking blow hit the news in Alpine city.

The news has broken all the previous records.

This was because those were Alpine City mayor’s daughter’s scandalous photos.

The intimacy between the male and female inside the washroom of a pub was vividly seen from the photos.

Photos were printed on the magazines while the video was uploaded to the internet. No sign of photoshop on either the photos or video. The number of post sharing had hit close to ten million!

Even the television station also has broadcasted the news.

Hansel was preparing his breakfast while watching the television. He was very satisfied with today’s results.

By the time the television broadcast ended, breakfast was ready to be served too. Just then, Lyla and Gretel woke up from their bed.

Lyla did not have the habit of reading newspapers or magazines. Nevertheless, she felt heart-warming when Hansel’s homemade breakfast was served.

Despite being a mother of two, Hansel has learned to take care of himself since young. Not only that, but he also took care of his mother too. As such, Lyla felt ashamed of herself but at the same time, she enjoyed the feeling of being taken care of.

“Good morning, Mommy!”

“Good morning!” Lyla replied with a smile.

“Breakfast is served!” Hansel said.

“Where’s Gretel?”

“If not mistaken, she’s still in her dreamland!”

“Wake her up!”

“All right!” Hansel followed his mother’s instructions obediently. After a minute, Gretel was seen following behind him, looking in complete exhaustion.

At night, Hansel accompanied Gretel to bed.

“Wash yourself up, then only take your breakfast!”

“Noted!” Gretel replied. Then, she cleaned herself up.

Lyla sat down to have her breakfast while Hansel sat opposite her.

She felt the atmosphere today was different from normal. She watched Hansel and found that he looked happy.

“Hansel, any good news to share with me?” Lyla asked.

Hansel was having his food while Lyla asked him. He raised his eyebrow. “Nothing. What’s the matter, Mommy?”

“You look very happy today!” Lyla said confidently.

Hansel smiled and showed an innocent look, then he shook his head. “Nothing!”

Lyla narrowed her eyes. “Remember to work hard and learn humbly regardless of how intelligent you’re!”

“Noted, Mommy. Don’t be a worrywart!’ Hansel said.

At that moment, Gretel came over. “And you too!”

Just as Gretel was about to take her seat, she was nagged by Lyla. “Noted, Mommy!”

Lyla felt helpless with the two of them. They often played dumb. No matter how much effort Lyla put in to educate them, they seemingly obeyed her in her face, yet did the opposite behind her back.

Fortunately, school teachers have never called to complain about them. If not, Lyla would have given them a piece of her mind.
