Chapter 70 It Is Confirmed That He Is Being Betrayed

The truth had spoken for itself that indeed, she was displeased by almost everyone. Otherwise, she would not have enjoyed herself to that maximum.

Lyla did not feel particularly happy for her, the slightest sympathy she felt for her had soon vanished too.

From her point of view, she could not afford to care so much about stuff. All she truly cared about were only that few important people in her life.

She threw all the gossip behind her mind and focused on her work.

On the other hand, at the hospital entrance, everyone had received the news out of nowhere. Now, they gathered outside Kathleen Turner’s hospital in order to interview her. The hospital entrance was very crowded since everyone wished to gain first-hand information.

There were some people who went undercover in order to get Kathleen Turner’s interview by hook or by crook.

Inside the ward, Kathleen Turner went insane when she read the newspaper!

She had never thought, after giving money to the woman, the news still leaked out.

Mark Pattinson would surely abandon her if he knew about it!

No way!

The nurses and patients pointed their fingers at her in the hospital. She was so scared that she hid inside the ward.

Looking at the magazine cover, she shook her head like a madwoman and murmured to herself, “This is not me, this isn’t me…”

Her eyes filled with tears. That sadness in her eyes and sorrowful look were too pitiful for one to look at.

No matter how much she murmured and repeated to herself, she could not convince herself that she was indeed the cover girl on that magazine.

She had flirted around many times. Nevertheless, this was her very first time being caught and recorded. Apparently, she had overlooked it the other day as she was boiling with rage.

Eventually, it still leaked out.

She hid inside the room and had no courage to see anyone. She called Erica Thomson and cried. She begged them to find ways to suppress the news, or else she dared not see anyone.

Aron Turner was temporarily suspended from his position as a result of Kathleen Turner’s scandalous photos. He nearly suffered from a heart attack and had to be admitted to the hospital due to this scandal.

When he was about to depart to visit Kathleen Turner in the hospital, he was surrounded by the reporters. Aside from the hospital, even his house was layered by them.

“Mayor Turner, what’s your view on this matter?”

“Mayor Turner, is this real? How are you going to solve it?”

“What about Kathleen Turner’s marriage with the Pattinson family?”

Loads of questions were thrown at Aron Turner.

Aron Turner looked at the camera and was about to say something. Nonetheless, the bombing of questions from the reporters had him speechless.

This was because no matter how he replied, all answers given would be wrong.

The journalists would write based on their opinions and exaggerated the scandal.

“Mayor Turner, please speak your mind out!” Seeing him fell silent, the reporters continued without a hint of giving up. Instead, they were reacting more aggressively.

“Mayor Turner, rumors that Ms. Turner is pregnant have spread. Did she have the child with Mark Pattinson or with the rumored man on the magazine?”

He was going to experience a hard time in the near future from the day he got temporarily suspended from his position and at the same time, offended the Pattinson family.

“You… How could you speak like this…” Aron Turner looked at the reporter and was about to say something. However, his nerves got the better of him and he held his tongue; he felt too nervous. Then all of a sudden, he held his chest and fainted on the ground.

“Aron! Aron!” Erica Thomson saw him and was scared stiff.

Erica Thomson looked at the reporter and blurted her words out crossly, “I’ll definitely sue your company!”

With that, she called the ambulance, and together with Aron Turner, they were sent to the hospital.

The reporters broadcasted the news on the spot. It was live streaming news and again, the news shook the entire Alpine City.

It had become the talk of the town now.

The scandal spread like wildfire. As such, it was difficult to suppress the news within a short period of time.

Inside the hospital, Aron Turner woke up. He opened his eyes and his first response was “Where’s Kathleen Turner?”

Seeing him waking up, Erica Thomson went over to him hurriedly. “Aron, you’re awake?”

“Where’s Kathleen Turner?!” Aron Turner said fiercely. Whenever he thought of the troubles she had caused, he had wished he had beaten her to death.

“Father…” At that moment, Kathleen Turner revealed herself timidly.

Aron Turner paused for a moment, then he reached out and gave her a slap on the face. “Look what you’ve done!”

Kathleen Turner was stunned. She covered her face with one hand and did not know how to react to this situation.

Erica Thomson stared at him. “Aron, what are you doing?”

“If it weren’t for her, how would we have fallen like this?” Aron Turner refuted.

Erica Thomson watched him and could not find a better excuse. After all, Kathleen Turner was their daughter. No matter how she behaved, she was still their own flesh and blood. She then threw him a look.

Kathleen Turner looked at Erica Thomson, then she cried. She went over to him. “Father, those aren’t real. They’ve been photoshopped. You have to believe me...”

“Do you think I’m blind? I may be old, but my mind is still very clear!” Aron Turner said.

Kathleen Turner was speechless.

Sitting on the bed, besides crying, she did not know what else to do.

“Let me tell you, if the Pattinson family calls off your wedding, you’ll lose everything!” Aron Turner said. Now that he had been suspended from his position, if the wedding were to be called off, he might not get his job back.

Initially, he thought of expanding his influence with the help of Mark Pattinson’s wealth. Nevertheless, everything was ruined in Kathleen Turner’s hand.

“Father, it’s not me, it’s not the real me… Someone set me up...” Kathleen Turner cried while she spoke.
