Although Robert might not have officially passed the highest position to Blake, he had already assigned his son to handle most of the company’s operations. The high workload somehow gave Blake a headache.

Jessica adjusted the collar of her sleeping robe before she knelt beside Blake and gave him a head massage. Her fingers were soft while the pressure on his head was just nice, making him relax his furrowed brows.

He held her slender wrists and put them on his waist. Then, he leaned on her shoulder for a rest.

Jessica reached out to the remote control and lowered the volume of the movie.

Inside the dim private theatre, time felt like it had slowed down. Jessica fell asleep without realizing it, and when she opened her eyes, she saw Blake looking at her from above her head.

He knotted his brows slightly. His dark eyes were bright in the dim environment, and they appeared to be glistening. The music echoed in the room, amplifying the spacious feeling several times more as if in this tiny space, only he and she existed.

The displacement of time and space carried Jessica away. She went out of control and reached out to his face. Her fingers slid over his slightly furrowed brows, and for whatever reason, she kissed him on the lips.

There was a soft and luscious sensation and warmth on his lips…

After the kiss, Jessica’s mind went blank for a second. She anxiously shut her eyes and pushed him away. Her heart was pounding like crazy.

The two of them did everything that a husband and wife should except him kissing her lips. She knew he disliked her mouth because she was mute.

As Jessica sat up straight, her heart was pounding and she felt anxious. She was afraid that he would be mad and scold her because the soft kiss might have triggered him.

Blake frowned at her, his black eyes void of light and warmth. He did not utter a word as he just stared at Jessica for a few seconds before he said with a stiff expression, “Let’s go back.”

Jessica felt bad, so she carried him and tried to cheer him up.

Blake took his coat off to pass to Ms. Susan and took Winson from Jessica. “I’ll take care of Winson. Go take a bath.”

Ms. Susan took the coat from Blake. When the two of them came back, Ms. Susan felt that something was not right, so she wisely stepped away.

After Jessica came out from the shower, she saw Blake lying down on the bed. He looked like he had just come out of the shower because he only had a towel wrapped around his waist. His golden honey muscles were glowing like amber under the dim light.

Jessica was slightly surprised. She looked away as she started to blush.
