Delilah was very anxious.
She never thought that Caty would escape.
When Mark said those words to her, although she spoke somewhat irrationally, she really hoped that Caty would meet a good end.
Delilah was very agitated and did not know what to do.
She really hoped that Caty could go far away and never come back.
However, what surprised her was that the more she wished for that, the more it would never come to fruition.
After returning, she was about to enter when she heard a weak voice behind her.
“Ms. Collins…”
Delilah suddenly jumped and whirled around, looking for the source of the voice.
At that moment, a figure walked out from around the corner. Delilah’s eyes instantly widened upon seeing her.
Caty Davis, dressed in black and wrapped tightly around herself, revealed only her face and looked at Delilah.
Delilah was stunned for a few seconds before immediately walking up. “H-How did you get here?”
“I escaped to see you!”
At that point, Delilah’s eyes looked around, and without a word, she pulled Caty back.
The nanny came up. “Ms. Collins, you’re back…”
Delilah ignored her and pulled Caty up the stairs. “I’m busy so I’ll go upstairs now. Don’t bother me unless something happens!”
Caty followed behind her, lowering her head so that no one could see her face.
The nanny did not know what exactly was going on and just nodded blankly. Her eyes swept over Caty’s body, but she did not feel anything off.
Thus, Delilah pulled Caty upstairs.
After reaching the room, Delilah let her go and immediately started packing her stuff.
Caty stood behind her and stared. “Ms. Collins, what are you doing?”
Delilah packed with a disordered heart. It was all her jewelry. “You have to leave. Now!”
“I’m not leaving!” Caty said.
Delilah turned to her. “Where will you go if you’re not leaving?”
“I don’t know, but I don’t want to leave!”
“You escaped now, but they’ll be looking for you everywhere!” Delilah gave Caty her expensive jewelry. “Take these first. When you find a good place, I’ll wire some money to you!”
Seeing the items, some of which were Delilah’s favorites, Caty frowned. “I can’t take these. These are your precious belongings!”
“None of that matters now!” Delilah said in agitation and looked at her. “Take these and go as far as you can. Never come back again, and don’t contact anyone!”
Caty frowned at Delilah’s expression. “I came back to see you, not for these things!”
Delilah also frowned.
“I don’t want to go either. I don’t want to leave!”
“You’ll be arrested sooner or later!”
“I know that!”
“But you…”
“I’m just not reconciled, and I’m worried about you!”
Delilah blinked at that, not knowing what to say. “You don’t have to worry about me. I’m fine. I’ll be okay!”
“Can you really accept this?”
“What else can I do?” Delilah retorted. “What doesn’t belong to me will never belong to me!”
“I can make him belong to you!” Caty said sinisterly.
Hearing this, Delilah looked up at her. “What are you planning?”
Caty looked at her. “Ms. Collins, don’t worry. I’ll definitely make him belong to you!”
Delilah shook her head. “No, no. I’ve already given up on him. Caty, don’t do anything for me anymore!”
“Ms. Collins, I can never repay what you’ve done for me in this life. This is the only way I can repay you!”
“No, you don’t owe me anything. Even if you did, you’ve already repaid me. Listen to me and leave…”
“Just you wait. He’ll definitely belong to you!”
“Caty…”
Just as Delilah was about to say something, there was a noise outside followed by the nanny’s voice. “Ms. Collins, the police are here!”
Delilah froze upon hearing that and glanced at Caty. Caty was also a little worried. She was not afraid of being arrested, but she could not get caught before she finished her business.
“Y-You stay here. Don’t go anywhere, got it?” Delilah said.
Caty nodded.
“Find a place to hide. If anything happens, run. Understand?” Delilah instructed.
Caty nodded again.
Delilah took a deep breath and went outside, pretending to be calm.
After opening the door, Delilah looked downstairs. “What’s going on?”
The nanny looked upstairs. “The officers said they had something to ask you!”
Seeing the policemen downstairs, Delilah took a deep breath and walked down.
“Is there anything I can help you with?”
“We would like to talk to you about Caty Davis!”
“Oh, wasn’t she arrested already? I’ve already said all there is to say. Is there anything else?”
“It’s like this. She ran away from the hospital a few days ago and we’ve been searching for her but to no avail. Do you have any idea where she could have gone?”
Delilah was very nervous when she heard this, but she forced herself to appear calm.
A cold smile curled on her mouth. “You mean to say that I’m harboring her?”
“That’s not what we meant. We’re just investigating all our leads!”
“I know that you’ve arrested her, but I don’t know when she escaped!” Delilah looked away.
