Chapter 141 Almost

“Mark Pattinson, you…” Lyla did not know what to say.

“Mark Pattinson, be rational!”

“I’m very rational. Don’t you think this is very similar to that night seven years ago?” Mark asked.

Lyla. “...”

“Do you want me to help you remember seven years ago?” He asked.

His fingers seem to contain magic, lighting up a spark everywhere he went. Lyla felt like she was going to melt in the tender trap he designed.

At that moment, someone knocked on the door. “Mummy, why aren’t you up yet? You’re gonna be late for work!”

Lyla completely woke up at that. Her eyes looked straight at the man, and the next second, she bent her knee, and swung it hard.

Mark’s expression completely changed. Even his body curled in.

“You damn hooligan! Indecent beast!” She cursed at him and quickly got out of the bed, opening the door and bolting out.

Outside.

Gretel was knocking on the door when Lyla suddenly ran out, startling her. “Mummy, what’s wrong?”

Lyla looked at her and tried to calm her agitated heart. “I-It’s nothing!”

Really?

Gretel could not help but peek inside. She had heard a very strange sound earlier, but her head had just peeked over when Lyla blocked her. Then, Lyla closed the door.

“There’s nothing to see there. Come on, let’s go down for breakfast!” Lyla smiled and pulled Gretel down.

Gretel could not hold back her curiosity and looked back again and again, but she could not see anything except the tightly closed door.

After going downstairs, Lyla washed up in the bathroom downstairs before eating breakfast.

Hansel carried breakfast out from the kitchen, saw only Lyla sitting there, and said, “Where’s Daddy?”

Lyla’s mind could not help but remember what happened earlier. She could not hold back a smile and said, “He’s probably still sleeping!”

“Oh!”

She had just spoken when the door upstairs clicked open. Mark walked out, dressed in a tailored silver-gray suit. His figure was upright, his temperament was reserved, and his charming and handsome face had the charisma of a mature man, completely different from the amorous and passionate him in the bedroom earlier. However, at this moment, he was glaring angrily at her.

Lyla quickly averted her gaze and ate casually, pretending not to see anything.

Hansel looked at him and called, “Daddy, breakfast is ready!”

“I’m coming!”

Then, Mark came downstairs.

However, just as he took a step down, he froze, and the expression on that delicate face changed.

Damn it, Lyla Lowe was too hateful.

Seeing him so vexed, Gretel could not help but ask, “Daddy, what’s wrong?”

Her words caused everyone’s gaze to look over. Everyone looked at Mark’s strange movements.

“It’s nothing!” Mark gritted his teeth and forced himself to endure. He walked down step by step.

No matter how well he disguised it, Lyla could still see the clues. She could not resist snickering.

Hansel and Gretel’s eyes immediately turned to her, but Lyla simply ate, pretending that she did not know anything. She knew nothing.

“Daddy, what’s wrong?” Gretel asked innocently.

“It’s nothing. My leg hurts!” Mark forced himself to endure the pain and walked over. He looked at Lyla, who was eating with a smug expression on her face, and wanted nothing more than to throttle her.

“Daddy, this is yours!” Hansel brought the breakfast to him.

Mark accepted it. “Thanks!” However, his eyes were still on Lyla, staring and glaring at her.

Lyla held back her smile and did not dare to raise her eyes. She could feel a burning gaze staring at her fiercely throughout breakfast.

She ate so fast that Hansel could not help but ask. “Daddy, Mummy, just what happened to you two?”

“Hm? Nothing!” Lyla denied. She was still not looking at Mark.
