Chapter 155 Becoming A Wealthy Lady

Gretel looked at Hansel and jokingly said, “I think it is best for Hansel to tell you.”

Lyla switched her gaze to Hansel and saw hesitance in the boy. “There’s not a lot of money…”

“How much is not a lot of money?”

“Just tens of millions?”

Tens of millions?

Lyla was in awe. She thought she heard it wrong or Hansel had said it wrongly.

“H-How much?”

“A few billion?” Hansel assumed that it was too little to Lyla, so he raised the price.

To be honest, the money that the brother and sister got was fixed. They were wealthy but they could not save all the money in a single account with a single card, so the two of them saved the money in different foreign banks under Hansel’s supervision to avoid suspicion and detection.

Lyla was at a loss for words.

“Are you kidding me?” Lyla asked in disbelief.

“Why would we?”

“Then how much do you two have right now?”

“Uh… I’m not too sure myself.” Gretel answered on behalf of her brother. She made it sound like it was something trivial.

“Around?”

“I think around a few billion?”

Lyla started to feel dizzy after knowing the numbers.

“A few billion in your possession?”

“They are in different foreign banks actually.”

It was then that Lyla remembered how casual the two of them sounded when they said they wanted to change the house. Now, she finally knew what fueled their confidence.

Looking at Hansel and Gretel, Lyla had to admit that she was really proud of them. Aside from the fact that the two were doing something dangerous, their intelligence and what they had achieved at their age was more than enough to make her proud.

Regardless, nothing was more important than their safety and health.

Lyla could turn a blind eye to Hansel's business but not Gretel.

She would rather her daughter remain a little princess than be involved in something so dangerous.

After some thought, Lyla said, “Shouldn’t you give Mommy the money for safekeeping? When will you give the money to me?”

Both the twins were rendered speechless.

Mark was also in awe at how fast Lyla switched her attitude.

“Mommy, must you really…”

“What else?”

“Actually, the money is all saved under your name in different foreign banks! You don’t have to worry about it!” Hansel said.

“How do I take it out?”

“You want to take it out?”

“I want to enjoy myself for a bit.”

“How much do you want? I’ll make the transfer for you!”

“All of it.”

Hansel reacted sourly.

“Mommy, you will be investigated by the authorities if you gain such a large sum of money all of a sudden,” said Hansel.

“Then what should I do?”

“Mommy, you really don’t have to worry. I am your son and the money is under my supervision, it will never run away,” said Hansel as he sat down beside Lyla.

“I don’t think so. What if you get married and forget about me, your dearest Mommy?”

“No way! I will love you and only you forever, if you are so worried, I won’t get married then!”

“Really?” Lyla’s eyes were almost shining with greed.

“Really!” Hansel nodded seriously.

“You said it yourself!” Lyla skipped the courtesy altogether.

“I swear!”

“No!” Right before Hansel swore that he would never get married, Mark stopped him.

“If you don’t get married, the family line will die with you!”

“What does that have to do with me?” Lyla asked.

Mark frowned. “Lyla, must you really teach our son like this? Encouraging this kind of mindset?”

“What’s wrong with it?”

“You…”

The tension between Daddy and Mommy was at its boiling point, both Hansel and Gretel wanted to flee from the crossfire.

“Mark, they are my children! You don’t have to worry about them!”

“Don’t you forget that they are also my children!”

“But did you give birth to them?”

“How can you give birth to them without me?”

Lyla was speechless.

Even Hansel felt a little embarrassed at how the topic had shifted.

“Ahem… Daddy, Mommy, breakfast? It’s getting cold,” Hansel said.

Gretel nodded in agreement and showed a cute look. “Yeah, I’m hungry.”

Both Mark and Lyla were out of words.

Hansel quickly served the breakfast he bought for Lyla, “Mommy, here!”

Lyla nonchalantly took the bowl like a queen, Hansel was like the attentive queen’s aide, serving her every need.

Mark shook his head helplessly at Lyla.

Gretel also sat down and started eating breakfast.

The situation finally calmed down.

Hansel watched from the side and was sweating nervously. Since things had settled down and his parents had found out about his affiliation, he had nothing to hide anymore.

Mark then received a call and it brought him out.

Hansel had been up all night and the sleepiness finally caught up to him. He went for a bath before collapsing on his bed.

Lyla did not disturb him either. It was a Sunday, she did not need to work, so she took the time to relax.
