Chapter 179 I Will Satisfy You

The pair kept moving along. It was pretty late so there were not many restaurants open. Nevertheless, there really was a Korean place.

Having made up their minds, the couple went to have Korean food.

It was not as though Mark had never tried this foreign cuisine, just not in such a place. He had only eaten this type of food in high-end restaurants.

Mark took a seat, doubting his decision. “Are you sure we’re going to eat this?”

“Why else would we be here? Do you have a better choice?”

“The place doesn’t seem hygienic.”

Lyla chuckled. “It’s different from the posh restaurants you go to. Things may look a bit disorderly but it’s clean and hygienic.”

“Are you sure?”

“Of course, otherwise, you can just wait for me if you don’t want any. We can leave after I’m done,” Lyla said.

She was not going to encourage Mark’s bad habits.

Soon, an array of beef cuts and other dishes were served. Lyla could not take her eyes off the food. “Mister, can I have a bottle of beer?”

“Alright.”

“Are you going to drink as well?”

“It’s best to eat this with beer.” Gazing at the meat selection, Lyla picked a slice up to eat.

It was rather appetizing to watch her eat. Tempted, Mark threw his inhibitions out the window and picked a slice for a taste.

“I thought you don’t find the cleanliness agreeable?”

“I was only asking to make certain, not because I find it disagreeable.”

Seeing that Mark was digging in, Lyla smiled. Now this was the Mark she knew — Although wealthy, he did not put on airs.

Since confessing her feelings, Lyla had gradually started to see the good in Mark. All the more, she felt she had an eye for men.

She stared at Mark gobble down the food. “How is it? Is it delicious?”

“Not bad.”

Lyla let out a smile. Just then, the beer arrived. Lyla popped off the bottle cap by slamming the bottle against the table. The series of movements left Mark in shock.

“It appears that you drink often.”

Lyla raised a brow. “Duh.”

Mark leaned against her ear and whispered, “I guess I don’t know you that well yet. I’ll need to find out more about you, inside and out.”

Lyla’s mind was turning dirty, or perhaps Mark had worded his sentence in such a way for her to misunderstand. As their gazes met, Mark looked fixedly at her with blazing eyes.

Lyla was blushing in the face. Thank goodness, since it was nighttime, it was not visible.

Lyla spoke, “It’s going to be hard. You don’t know a lot about me.”

“It’s okay, I’ll take it one step at a time.”

Lyla did not want to continue this meaningless subject of conversation.

She poured herself a glass of beer to drink while Mark helped himself and poured one too. However, Lyla quickly put a stop to that when he had his hand wrapped around the glass. “What are you doing?”

“What else other than drinking?”

“You can’t drink because you’re still hurt.”

“You have an injury too.” Mark pointed at the minor graze on Lyla that was covered with a bandaid.

Lyla was speechless. “Is this considered an injury?”

“How can it not be an injury?”

“Compared to you, mine can be considered a mosquito bite.”

“Then mine is a huge mosquito bite.”

Lyla. “...”

She stopped him from trying to drink. “Mark Pattinson, can you not be so stubborn?”

Aware that Lyla was merely concerned about him, Mark uttered, “Just one glass.”

Lyla shook her head.

“One sip.”

Lyla shook her head once again.

“I won’t drink on the condition that you kiss me.”

Lyla replied, “... What does this have to do with drinking?”

“Well, you have to fill my mouth with something.”

Lyla immediately stuffed a piece of meat into his mouth “Alright, it’s filled.”

Mark. “...”

Although he was not pleased with the answer, Mark retained a smile. No longer hung up on drinking, he ate and lamented. “Soon, I’ll be teased by my friends.”

“Teased about what?”

“A hen-pecked husband, afraid of his wife, that sort of thing,” Mark spoke in such a helpless manner.

The grin on Lyla’s face broadened. “Who is your wife?”

“You, of course.”

“I never said yes.”

Mark turned anxious. “Lyla Lowe, are you starting to play games with me?”

“So what?” Lyla gaily answered. The glint in her bright eyes gave a vibe of indescribable wittiness.

Mark rarely saw this side to Lyla. This woman really took his breath away.

“I don’t care whether you’re willing to face the facts but we had kids together and only a marriage license stands between us. We’re heading to city hall once we are discharged.”

“I refuse.”

“Refusal denied.”

“You have no right to make decisions for me.”

“Lyla Lowe, It’s just playing the field if it’s not dating for marriage. Don’t tell me that you’re a player.”

Still eating, Lyla chortled. “You’re always the one putting one over on people, can’t I fool you for once?”

Sigh.

Mark had no excuse. If he had known that he would one day meet this woman and have his heart stolen, Mark would not have made headlines in tabloids for love affairs. This was now used against him.

“I have turned over a new leaf.”

“Observation is still required to confirm that statement. We can take things slow,” Lyla said while digging in.
