Chapter 250 The Sharp-Tongued Lyla Is Back

Felix asked, "How is it different? Isn’t happiness all the same?"

Lyla looked at him, unable to explain.

At that moment, Felix embraced her in his arms and said, "Lyla, will you stay with me? We’ll live like how we did before, okay? I can give you whatever he can. Please stay with me, Lyla!"

Lyla let him hug her and only spoke after a long time, "Felix, I'm sorry..."

Sorry...

This word clearly stated her choice and answer.

Felix hugged her arms and gradually loosened his embrace. He looked at her in agony and seemed to be waiting for her to change her mind at the last moment.

Lyla finally said, "I now have someone I want to accompany for the rest of my life."

Felix smiled.

That smile was painful to see and made her feel heartbroken.

Lyla frowned and said, "Felix, you’ll surely find that person too!"

After hearing this, Felix was quiet and stared into the distance, revealing his handsome side profile. The corners of his lips curled up mockingly, but Lyla could not tell what he was thinking about.

Lyla watched him silently as she did not know what to say nor how to comfort him.

Felix coldly snorted. "I don’t need you to plan my life out!"

Lyla had never seen this side of him with such a cold attitude and unfamiliar tone.

At that moment, she knew that Felix was angry.

Truly angry.

She pursed her lips and said, "I’m not planning anything for you. I just want you to have a bright future too!"

"I will!"

His tone was icy and he no longer wanted to continue this topic.

Lyla nodded and said, "Well, It's late, so I'll head back...Goodnight!"

She smiled, but seeing no response from him, Lyla turned around and walked away.

It was not until she disappeared from his sight that Felix picked up the bottle of white wine from the table and chugged it in one go. He then threw the bottle far away and it shattered on the ground.

Felix's hand was tightly gripping the railing that the veins on his arm and neck protruded out.

Lyla!

Why!

Why!

‘My love for you was never any less than his, but why did you choose him!!!’

......

Mark was just about to go out to look for Lyla, but just as he went out, he saw her return.

He looked at her worriedly and asked, "Where did you go?"

"I went to see Felix."

Mark's eyes narrowed slightly, but before he said something, Lyla spoke, "I have something to say to you."

"What?"

"Let's go home."

Mark looked at her and scrutinized her for a long time. Finally, he smiled and nodded as he said, "Okay, let's go back."

Lyla smiled faintly, but she looked at his injury and said, "But..."

Mark said with a smile, "This injury’s nothing. Besides, we’re going back by plane, not running back!"

Lyla reached out, wrapped his arms around his waist, and leaned her head on his chest as she said, "Okay, I miss home..."

"Then we'll go home."

She nodded. As long as Mark was around, she felt like she belonged.

They decided to leave.

Mark ordered his people to make arrangements. It would be good for them to leave as soon as possible. That way, if Angiulo’s people could not find them, they would stop finding trouble with Felix.

However, in the past two days, Felix disappeared.

Lyla wanted to say goodbye to him, but she simply could not find him anywhere.

In the end, she gave up.

Gretel had also recovered by then. Seeing that Lyla was sad, she asked, "Mommy, did something happen between you and Felix?"

Lyla looked back at her and said, "No, why?"

"How can there be nothing? You two are acting strange!"

"You've seen Felix?"

"He came to see me two nights ago."

Lyla was stunned.

"What did he say to you?"

"He didn't say anything. He just kept looking at me and smiled, but that smile looked a little..." Gretel thought of an adjective and continued, "...helpless!"

Lyla pursed her lips and did not know what to say.

Gretel actually knew that Felix had feelings for her mother, but she thought that Felix had accepted reality since Mark had appeared. She did not expect this...

Lyla looked at her and smiled. She said, "Alright, don't worry. Nothing’s going on!"

Gretel did not probe further seeing as Lyla refused to talk about it. She just nodded and said, "Okay!"

"Go pack your things then."

"Mm!"

No one could contact Felix.

There was still no news of him until the day Lyla left.

In the airport.

Mark looked at Lyla and said, "If you're still worried, we can wait another day."

Lyla turned to look at Mark, then smiled and said, "No, it’s alright. Since he chose this, just let him be."

"You finally thought it through?"

Lyla nodded.

She was thankful for everything that happened in the past, for Felix's appearance and the warmth he gave her.

Even if time passed and things changed, she would always keep this gratitude in her heart and had never regretted meeting him.

Nonetheless, if their relationship faded over time, she would not complain nor blame anyone because this was life.

Mark saw Lyla’s determination and did not push further. He said, “Well then, let’s go!”

Lyla nodded.

Gretel was with Hansel and Lingo.

She looked around and frowned lightly, then asked, "We’re really not waiting for Felix?"
