Chapter 258 An Astonishing Marriage Proposal

Upon seeing Master Pattinson’s disgusted expression, Lyla felt speechless.

“Then forget it!” Lyla turned around and left after speaking.

“It’s fine, let’s have a drink!”

Lyla, “...”

She looked back at Master Pattinson and poured him a glass of water helplessly.

Justin looked around the surroundings. “Where’s that kid?”

“Mark?”

“Obviously! Who else can there be other than him?”

“... He went to the company!”

“Hasn’t he not been going there?” Justin asked.

“He went there half an hour before you ca-came!”

Justin looked a little disappointed. Lyla looked at him. “What's the matter?” she said as she poured a glass of water for herself and drank it.

Justin thought for a while. He thought, ‘It’ll be the same no matter who it is anyway.’ Therefore, he just started speaking casually.

“When are you two going to get married?”

Lyla almost spat the water in her mouth onto Justin’s body.

Fortunately, she held back and coughed twice. She then looked at Justin. “What do you mean by this?”

Justin turned away with slight disgust. “What are you so agitated for?”

“I'm not agitated, I'm just surprised. Haven’t you always disagreed with us being together?” Lyla asked. Lyla and Mark had not even talked about marriage, so it was unexpected that Justin would be the first to mention it.

Why did everyone like to mention things that they did not want mentioned?

“Aren’t I agreeing to it now? Can’t you tell what I mean?”

“I…”

“You’ve already given birth to my grandchildren, so what’s done is done. Do I still have any other options?” Justin asked.

Now it was Lyla’s turn to be speechless.

It would be her fault no matter what she said.

“But you’ve always said that you won’t accept them as grandchildren!”

Master Pattinson became even angrier. “Don’t you know how to respect your elders? I was just testing you!”

“Alright, alright!” Lyla compromised. “You’re right, it’s my fault!”

“Hmph, that’s more like it!”

“Then what did you come here for today?” Lyla looked at him and asked.

“Now that things are already like this, when are the both of you planning to get married?”

“No, I mean, what’s your purpose?” Lyla asked.

Her words made Justin roll his eyes again.

“Do I have to have a purpose for everything I do?”

“Otherwise, you wouldn’t be asking this so suddenly!”

“I’m just asking this for your own good, ok?” Master Pattinson asked.

Lyla, “...”

Lyla honestly wanted to climb over the window and check if this was indeed the reality. However, Justin would definitely give her endless complaints that day if she actually did that.

Nonetheless, Lyla had to admit that Justin had changed drastically because of Hansel and Gretel. He had even changed his perspective towards her and Mark.

Lyla felt quite relieved about this.

“Regarding this matter, it’s not like what I say will be confirmed!”

“That darn boy. It’s been ages now but he still hasn’t hurried up!” Master Pattinson muttered.

Lyla pressed her lips together and wanted to laugh. However, she held it in.

At this time, Gretel leaned over. “Mummy, I think what Grandpa said is true. You need to hurry before new problems arise!”

“Then what?” Lyla asked while looking at her.

“Get married already!”

“You want me to propose to your daddy?”

“Hmm yeah, there’s that.” Gretel thought for a while. “But what if Daddy doesn’t mention this matter? Then will the both of you continue dragging it?”

“This isn’t that bad!” Lyla enjoyed her current state very much.

“No!” Justin opposed. “A relationship that doesn’t have marriage as its purpose just means that he’s being a playboy!”

Lyla, “...”

Who knew that this old man even knew such slang?

“Don’t even think of not taking the responsibility!”

Lyla smiled helplessly. “Then why don’t you suggest what I should do?”

Justin was tongue-tied now that Lyla asked him to suggest something.

“I have an idea!” said Gretel.

“What idea?”

“What idea?” Justin and Lyla said at the same time.

Gretel laughed. “Create a crisis!”

Lyla frowned. “Wait, what are you planning?”

“Mummy, you don’t have to worry about this. If I told you about it, then your reaction at that time wouldn't be realistic. Just let me handle this!” Gretel said as she patted her chest.

How could Lyla let her handle it without worry? “You need to at least tell me…”

“No no no. Mummy, you just need to do two things from now on!”

“What are they?” Lyla asked as she blinked her eyes.

“Just dress yourself up beautifully and go to work tomorrow!”

“But…”

“Shh, Mummy, trust me! Just let me handle everything!”

Lyla, “...”

It could be seen that Gretel did not want to say it. Therefore, no matter how much Lyla asked, she still would not say it. Lyla could only let it be.

She wanted to see what this little girl would do.

“Grandpa, I’ll need your help!”

“No problem!” Master Pattinson agreed instantly without asking anything. This meant that no matter what his granddaughter was going to do, he would be responsible for it till the end!

Upon seeing them, Lyla started to get a little worried.

…...

Mark came back late at night when Lyla was asleep. He immediately leaned towards Lyla and started to caress her.
