Chapter 263 Trying To Gain A Better Position

“What do you mean?” Mark asked.

Amelia then took out a project proposal and handed it to him. “Please take a look at this!”

Mark looked at her, then looked at the project proposal. He did not open it, instead, he leaned back lazily. “Just say what you want to say, you don’t need to beat around the bush like this!” In fact, Mark generally understood what she meant.

However, what he did not know was the relationship between this woman and Lyla.

Amelia was a little surprised by Mark’s indifferent attitude. Either way, he was also a part of Lyla’s family, so how could he be so indifferent? Was his behavior in front of the camera all an act?

However, whatever it was, this matter was the most important.

A ray of hope was better than no hope.

She said, “Well, We’re an advertisement company. No matter if it’s designing or advertising, we’re considered well-known in the advertisement industry.”

“So?” Mark asked disapprovingly. Honestly, he had never even heard of this company before.

“I heard that your company is now selecting partners for advertising, so…”

“So you want to take up our company's advertisement design project?” Mark stated after she spoke.

After listening to what he said, Amelia smiled and nodded. “Yes!” She then put on a happy expression.

The corner of Mark’s lips raised, he then said, “Then, did you know that our company only chooses the top design companies?”

“This…” Amelia’s expression worsened. “I know, although our company isn’t one of the best, we are also capable. Without such an opportunity, we would never be able to squeeze into being one of the best, wouldn't we?”

Mark observed her. It seemed that she had prepared before coming.

“Excuse me, but you’re this company’s...?”

“I'm not!”

“Then you…”

It could be seen that Mark was not someone that can be easily fooled. Therefore, Amelia said directly, “Actually, the thing is, our company is encountering some difficulties and urgently needs this project. If we still can't find a promising project, our company is likely to go bankrupt!”

“So, our company is honored to be your choice?” Mark asked as he raised an eyebrow.

Amelia had an indescribable expression, she then looked at Mark. “I hope that you can help us out of respect for Lyla!” Amelia begged.

“Does Lyla know about this?” Mark did not care about what she said. He only cared about what Lyla thought.

Amelia was silent.

Obviously, Lyla did not know about this.

Needless to say, Mark had already guessed it.

“She went back yesterday?” Mark asked.

“... Yes!”

Now, he understood everything about why Lyla was being unhappy. He also knew what was going on now.

His delicate facial features did not seem to show any change in emotion. He just said, “I see, you can head back first!”

“Then what about this matter, Mr. Pattinson?”

“I need to think about this matter first!”

“Mr. Pattinson, I really hope you can agree with us. We definitely won’t let you down!”

Mark just smiled and did not say much. However, his eyes had already expressed everything. If she continued, Amelia was afraid that he would get angry.

Thus, she gave up.

“I’ll be waiting for your news!”

“Mmhm!”

Amelia turned around and left.

However, just as she walked halfway through, Mark suddenly said, “Don't you care about how Lyla’s life is now?”

She came here purely because of work. She did not seem to care about Lyla at all, which made Mark very unhappy.

Amelia pressed her lips together. After thinking for a while, she said, “I can tell that she’s living a happy life now!”

Mark smiled from the corner of his lips. “You’re right, and she’ll be even happier in the future!”

For some reason, his words seemed to be warming. Amelia smiled awkwardly and did not say much. She just turned around and left.

Mark did not have the motivation to work as he watched her leave. He started to feel sorry for Lyla...

He then got up and left as he thought about this.

Lyla was having a meeting in the office, but Mark suddenly entered.

Everyone, including Lyla, was shocked.

Mark walked directly to Lyla and grabbed her hand.

“You, what are you doing?”

“Follow me!”

“I’m having a meeting!”

Mark did not seem to care and just looked at everyone there. “Excuse me, we have some family issues. Hope that everyone can understand!”

Everyone was very understanding. “It's okay, it's okay!”

“Good luck, Mr. Pattinson!”

“We wish for your happiness!”

After hearing everyone’s blessings, Mark smiled and took Lyla away.

They reached outside of the company and Lyla looked at him with a smile. “What’s the matter with you today?”

“Nothing much!”

“Haven’t you been busy? Why are you suddenly so free today?” Lyla asked as she looked at him from the side,

“Even if I’m busy, I still need to rest!” After he finished speaking, he turned to look at Lyla. “Let’s have a good rest today!”

Lyla was also very tired of the recent events. Now that they were already outside, of course, she agreed casually, “Sure!”

They drove for a long distance and finally stopped at the beach.

After they stopped the car, they held each other and walked toward the beach.

“What's wrong? Did something happen to you today?” Lyla asked as she looked at him. The way he behaved was too abnormal that day.

Mark smiled. “What? Can't I come here with you if nothing happened?”
