Chapter 265 Plagued By Scandals

The next day.

Hansel did not regret getting someone to beat Amelia up.

As he read the news, he could not even stomach breakfast anymore.

However, Gretel ate heartily and said, “Hansel, I suddenly feel that your proposal yesterday sounds good. Some people deserve a good beating!”

Hansel took a deep breath and sighed.

At that moment, Lyla and Mark came down from upstairs. Lyla looked to be in a good mood. It seemed that yesterday’s incident did not have much impact on her.

However, today...

Hansel secretly hid the newspaper.

That small action did not escape Mark’s eyes. “Why are you hiding the newspaper?”

Hansel, “...”

Daddy, can your eyes stop being so sharp?

Gretel snatched the newspaper out of Hansel’s hands. “Brother, what’s there to hide about this? Even if Mummy doesn’t know now, she’ll find out tomorrow!” Then, she tossed the paper on the table.

Lyla was curious why they were acting so mysteriously.

She picked up the paper to read it.

However, when she saw the headline, her expression instantly went cold.

“Mummy, don’t be angry. Those kinds of people only know how to play petty tricks!”

Mark also leaned over to read, but when he read the news on it, his expression became even more ugly.

Lyla put it down and pretended not to see it.

“Mummy…” Hansel looked at her.

Lyla forced a smile. “I’m fine!”

It looked like she was fine.

The incident in front of the company that happened the day before had been photographed. The headline wrote how Lyla Lowe was reprimanded for being unfilial, and the article was also written in a way that cast deep suspicions on Lyla.

If everyone were to read an article like this, they would definitely be affected!

Mark’s expression was unpleasant as he took out his phone. “J, have you read today’s paper?

“I want to know who wrote it, and I want to sue them until they go bankrupt. Get it done right now!” Then, he hung up with a snap.

Hansel and Gretel watched and shivered. This was Mark’s rage on behalf of his lover.

Thus, the two of them gave Mark a big thumbs up. “Daddy, you’re so cool!”

Mark glanced at them, but he was still furious.

At that moment, Lyla opened her mouth. “Was that necessary?”

“No, but I’ll never allow anyone to slander you like that!” Mark said.

Lyla smiled. It was unlikely to not get angry when she saw the article. She was slightly angry, but she was already used to it. Moreover, she did not want to live while minding how other people looked at her.

Nevertheless, she was still touched by Mark’s behavior.

“I remember that when I went there with Hansel before, we didn’t see any reporters. How did they know about this?!” Gretel asked.

At that, Hansel picked up the paper to read it again. “She wouldn’t have gone there together with a reporter just for this, right?!” He guessed.

Mark’s mouth hooked up in a smile. “No matter what, this publisher and… They’ll only be able to dream of having it easy!”

Lyla looked at the breakfast and started to eat. “Alright, the food’s getting cold. Let’s eat!”

Seeing how big-hearted Lyla was, what else could they say? They could only start to eat as well.

The three of them occasionally glanced at Lyla during the meal, but she looked completely fine. “Will staring at me fill your stomachs?”

Thus, the three looked away and ate in silence.

There were all sorts of negative comments about Lyla. There were even videos uploaded online, and many people said that they were wrong about Lyla. They did not expect her to be such a heartless person.

When Lyla went to the office, the design department was also discussing this matter.

Lily said furiously, “What is all this nonsense? They’re scolding you without knowing anything. They have no sense of ethics at all!”

Someone said, “Don’t be mad. People these days are all like that. As long as there’s a spark, they’ll fan it until it becomes a big flame. The crowd loves big dramas, so of course they’ll scold her horribly when her family affairs are involved!”

Lily sighed. “In any case, I don’t believe that Lyla is that kind of person!”

“I don’t believe it either. She treats us pretty well. How could she be that harsh on her family?”

“Also, I never thought that Lowe Advertising Company belonged to Lyla’s family…”

Lyla walked in as they were discussing, and someone signaled for them to stop talking nonsense.

“What’s wrong?” Lyla looked at them. “Is there something on my face? Why is everyone looking at me?”

At that moment, Lily walked over. “Lyla, regarding yesterday’s incident, we all believe in you!”

Lyla was first stunned at that statement, and then she smiled. “Thank you!”

She knew that they all would be gossiping about this matter, and she looked at them. “Don’t worry, I’m fine. You guys don’t have to worry about me!”

Then, she went into the office with a smile.

When she walked in, the smile on her face dropped.

Lyla could not say that it did not affect her at all.

She sighed. She did not expect Amelia to go that far.

Sitting on the chair, she thought about it before turning on her laptop and going on Twitter, and saw countless messages there.

Lyla glanced through them. There were all kinds of messages, some scolding her and some supporting her.

Her Twitter had not been updated for a long time.
