Chapter 284 The Man And Woman’s Standpoint

At that moment, Neil approached him. “I received news that many people flocked here when they heard that you were getting married!”

Mark gave him a sideways glance at that.

“So, I came here to ensure the safety of your lives, as well as to make sure the wedding goes on as scheduled!” Neil even raised an eyebrow at him.

Mark glanced at him, not feeling appreciative. “You’re persuading me to grant her wish while also trying to defend my wedding. Don’t you think your words are very contradictory?”

“There’s no contradiction because I haven’t finished my words yet. If your wedding doesn’t take place as scheduled, I’ll take it as a visit to see you, comfort and console you, and take a break along the way!”

He had just finished speaking when Mark rolled his eyes at him.

Neil smiled and patted his shoulder, continuing to drink.

“By the way, what about the son?” He asked.

“Son? Who’s son?”

“Our son, of course!”

Mark looked at him with disdain. “He’s my son. What has he got to do with you?”

“Then, he’s my godson!”

“You think too much!” Mark said. “He only has one Daddy, one Dad, and one Father in this life, so you can put away your little thoughts!”

Neil laughed. “With what you said, he already has three!”

Mark’s eyes shot daggers at him.

“Fine, fine, fine, pretend I didn’t say anything!” Neil nodded. There was no other way. He wanted someone else’s son, so he had to be more tactful.

Mark picked up the wine and drank it. “I think the purpose of your visit this time is for my son, isn’t it?”

Neil looked at him and cackled. “Don’t reveal each other’s true intentions and we can still be friends!”

Mark did not ask anything else. He was preoccupied with Lyla, thinking about how to solve the matter this time. His heart was troubled.

……

When Mark returned, it was already morning.

Lyla stayed up all night.

As soon as he entered the bedroom, he saw Lyla sitting on the balcony.

She never got up this early… Could it be?

Mark walked over behind her, and Lyla turned around upon hearing the movement. When she saw him, she was not surprised and said plainly, “You’re back!”

“Yeah.” Mark nodded.

Smelling the alcohol on Mark, Lyla said, “You drank too much. Go wash up!” Then, she got up and left.

Mark suddenly reached out and grabbed her.

“I’m sorry!” Mark said and explained. “That phone call…”

“No need to explain. I believe you!” Lyla smiled at him. “Go take a shower and come down for breakfast!”

Lyla was just about to leave when Mark took her in his arms and held her tightly.

Lyla did not struggle and let him hug her.

After a long time, he said, “Even if you believe me, I still have to explain it to you. That woman was just someone pouring wine in the bar. I went to the washroom and she answered my phone!”

“Mmh!” Lyla nodded.

“I have nothing to do with her!”

“I know!” Lyla said.

At that moment, Mark let go of her. His deep eyes were a little red from a night of drinking. “Are you angry?”

Lyla shook her head and looked at him with a smile. “No, if I don’t even believe you on this, then what trust is there to speak of?”

“I was with Neil yesterday. In the future, I won’t stay out all night again!”

Lyla smiled and nodded. “Alright, stop talking. Go shower and have breakfast!”

“Okay!” Mark nodded.

Just as Lyla was about to leave, Mark looked at her and said, “Lyla…”

“Hm?”

“You... Do you really want to go abroad with Felix?” Mark asked her.

She did not expect that Mark would bring this topic up with her again.

“It’s not a question of whether I want or not… I just can’t ignore him like this!”

“I’ll agree!”

Huh?

Lyla looked at him in astonishment.

Then, Mark said, “I’ll go with you!”

Lyla was even more surprised. “What about the company? And what about our wedding?”

“We can postpone the wedding and the company’s affairs… Nothing is more important than you!”

“But…”

“Shh!” Mark looked at her and reached out, gently taking her into his arms. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have made things hard for you and made you sad. In the future, as long as you want to do something, I’ll accompany you!”

Inexplicably, Lyla’s eyes reddened.

She also reached out and hugged him, burying her head in his chest and not saying anything. All there was was a strong hug.

Looking at her, Mark breathed a sigh of relief. The tightness in his heart was finally resolved.

……

Gretel was waiting for breakfast while playing with the tablet. However, while waiting, she froze when she saw a news item.

Incredulously, she tapped on it to read it, and after making sure that she read it correctly, she became even angrier and threw the phone on the table.

“Hmph, that’s too much!”

Hansel came out with breakfast and looked at her. “What’s wrong?”

“Look!” Gretel showed him the tablet.

Hansel took it and froze when he saw the news on it.

“This…”

“What I know is that Daddy really didn’t come home last night!” Gretel said, getting even angrier. “I didn’t think that Daddy actually went out to find a woman…”

“Maybe it’s a misunderstanding!”

“Misunderstanding? In you men’s eyes, is this just a misunderstanding?” Gretel asked.

Hansel, “...”

“Daddy is wrong!” Hansel changed his tune.

“It is wrong!” Gretel sat in the chair, furious.
