Chapter 294 An Unknown Plan

When Lyla went to work on other things, Shadow walked up and whispered something in Felix’s ear.

After Felix heard it, his expression changed.

He looked at Shadow. “How did you do it?”

Shadow’s expression worsened. “I didn't expect it, nor did I notice it!"

Felix clenched his fist, and finally said, “Replace the two of them for me!” He said coldly. His voice could easily make people shudder.

Shadow nodded calmly. “I know, but if Ms. Lowe asks…”

Felix glared at him angrily. If it was not because of his current situation, who knew what he would have done. “If you can't even explain this, then why do I even need you?”

Shadow recognized his mistake immediately and looked down. “I understand!”

Felix turned away. Although he did not get a definite answer, Lyla’s behavior today had already explained everything.

If Mark had not been here, then why would she be like this?

A bitter smile appeared from the corner of his lips as he thought about this. Felix originally thought that she might have opened up more and that she would be happy with him, but he did not expect...

Felix’s heart could not help but ache. It was as if a hammer had hit it so hard that he could not breathe.

Shadow soon went out.

“Shadow!” Felix suddenly said at that moment

Shadow staggered for a moment and turned back.

“Move the plan… forward!” Felix said after some time.

“But…”

“Just do as I say!” Felix emphasized.

Shadow looked at him worriedly and finally nodded. “Okay, I understand!” After speaking, he turned around and walked out.

Felix laid on the bed, looking at the ceiling, and his deep eyes slowly closed...

‘Lyla.

‘Don’t blame me.

‘I’ll use the rest of my life to atone for my sins, and to accompany you!”

……

That day was Mark’s mother’s death anniversary.

Although Lyla was not in Alpine City, she seemed to still be able to feel that sadness.

Her mood was not good, but it was not bad either. She was thinking that although she was not there, she still wanted to be there together with Mark.

Last night before, she even talked to Mark, Hansel, and Gretel on the phone. She repeatedly asked them to behave well and be filial in place of her.

Hansel nodded again and again. “Mommy, don't worry, I know. You’ve said it countless times!”

“I can’t feel at ease when I’m not around!”

“Mommy, don't worry. Daddy and grandpa won't blame you. You don't have to feel guilty about this matter. Anyway, after you come back, we can commemorate grandma’s death anniversary every year!"

It was Hansel who had always understood her heart. His simple words immediately made Lyla’s heart feel more relieved.

“Okay, I see. Call me again if anything happens!”

"Yes, Mommy! Roger!”

Only then did Lyla hang up the phone.

In the corridor, she held her phone and was in a gloomy mood.

At that moment, there was some chaos in the corridor.

Lyla turned around and saw Shadow pushing a bed in her direction.

Upon seeing the person on the bed, Lyla was taken aback for a moment, but she soon ran over.

“What is it? What happened?” Lyla said worriedly.

Shadow also looked worried. “I don’t know. He suddenly had a seizure and became unconscious!”

Lyla looked at Felix, who was lying on the bed with his eyes closed. His face was pale.

“Felix, Felix…” Lyla yelled twice, but Felix did not react at all. Soon, they arrived at the door of the emergency room. The nurse took over, while Shadow and Lyla were blocked outside.

Upon watching Felix enter, and the doors closed, their hearts wrenched.

After a long time, Lyla had finally come back to her senses and looked at Shadow. “He was fine a minute ago… Why did this happen?”

Shadow shook his head. “I don't know either!”

Lyla’s heart wrenched.

The two of them stood by the door and waited anxiously.

At that moment, the doctor walked out and said, “The patient is in a critical condition, so the surgery must be done immediately! However, due to insufficient blood in the blood bank, more blood is needed urgently!”

The moment Shadow heard this, he immediately said, “I'll find some people right away!"

“There’s no need!” Lyla suddenly said, “I’ll do it!”

The doctor did not hesitate and immediately nodded. “Come with me!”

Lyla nodded and walked in.

The moment the doors closed, Shadow’s footsteps stopped. He looked back with dark eyes...

…...

Lyla walked in and saw Felix lying on the operating bed. Her eyes were filled with worry.

“Lie down here!” the doctor instructed.

Lyla walked over and laid down. She was just next to Felix. Lyla then turned her head and looked at him. She did not even know what she was thinking about at that moment. Maybe she was just hoping that Felix would quickly recover.

Lyla was still conscious at first, but as the needle pierced into the blood vessels under her skin, her eyes closed slowly bit by bit. She soon fell unconscious.

What was unexpected was that the person who was supposed to have the surgery opened his eyes suddenly. Then, the doctor spoke, “She has completely passed out!”

After some time, the person on the other bed said, “Do it!”

…...

Mark could not get through Lyla’s phone.

After the matter was over, Mark called Lyla, but only a mechanical voice sounded from the phone. “Sorry, the number you’ve dialed is temporarily unavailable.”

Not being able to get through to her phone was rare. Therefore, Mark picked up the phone and called again...

After countless calls, there was still no answer. In the end, Mark typed a text message and sent it.

At that moment, Hansel and Gretel came up from behind.

“Daddy, what's the matter?” Hansel asked.
