Chapter 298 Lyla’s Discovery

Lyla woke up again, feeling weak.

When she woke up this time, she did not get up immediately and laid in bed and meditated.

Even if she lost too much blood, it should not be like this.

It had been a few days, but she did not know. She only knew that she woke up every time to eat, just to fall asleep again.

This was not excessive blood loss. It was more like...

At that thought, she could not help but frown.

There was also a vague bad feeling at the bottom of her heart.

Just then, someone knocked on her door, and Lisa walked in.

As always, she smiled like the spring breeze. “You’re awake, Ms. Lowe?” She said sweetly.

Lyla did not reply. Her sharp eyes fell on Lisa.

“It’s time to eat. Will Ms. Lowe be eating?” Lisa asked with a smile.

“Is that edible?” Lyla suddenly asked.

“Huh?” Lisa froze before smiling awkwardly. “What do you mean, Ms. Lowe?”

Lyla looked expressionless. “After I eat, will I become sleepy again?” She asked coldly.

Lisa was stunned and turned to look at her. At this moment, Lyla’s expression did not look kindly at all.

“Who the hell are you?” Lyla asked.

“My name is Lisa. Mr. Smith asked me to take care of you!” Lisa said.

“From the beginning, you said that it was Felix who asked you to take care of me. How could he have instructed you when he had just finished his surgery?”

“It was Mr. Smith who instructed Shadow!” Lisa knew that she could no longer hide it.

“Tell Shadow to come here now!”

“But Shadow…”

“Don’t tell me that he’s not here now. You’ve already used that excuse before!” Lyla said word by word. Although she did not have much strength at that moment, her aura was still firm beyond doubt.

She had been with Mark for so long and was also influenced by him over time.

Lisa stood there in a dilemma, not knowing what to do.

“Tell Shadow if he doesn’t come see me, don’t send food over in the future!” Lyla laid down and looked out the window.

Lisa stood where she was and hesitated, but she could see Lyla’s determination. She could not say anything else and turned to leave.

Lyla lay on the bed and glanced outside. She had a suspicion and decided to test it out, but she did not expect it to be true.

Being with Hansel and Mark for so long, she did start to think more about matters now. If it were the Lyla Lowe of the past, she might not have caught on to anything even after sleeping for a month.

After a long time, a figure walked in the door. It was not Lisa, but Shadow, who had not been seen in a long time.

“Ms. Lowe!” Shadow greeted Lyla respectfully after walking in.

Seeing him, Lyla sat up a little.

“What the hell is going on here?” Lyla asked.

Shadow frowned. “That day when the Boss underwent surgery, someone suddenly found the hospital and wanted to kill him!”

Hearing this, Lyla frowned and asked anxiously, “Then? What happened to Felix?”

“Fortunately, the police arrived and nothing happened, and the Boss’s operation went smoothly. After the operation, we were afraid that those people would wait for an opportunity to strike again, so we moved to this place!”

“Where is this place?”

“It’s an uninhabited island!”

“Uninhabited island?” Lyla frowned. Usually, these strange names were only seen and heard in TV dramas. She did not expect to experience it in real life.

“This place was built by the Boss a long time ago, and no one knows about it. It’s the best place to recuperate!” Shadow said.

What he said was flawless and impeccable, but Lyla still felt that something was wrong. “Then, why am I locked up here?” She asked.

Urk.

Shadow looked at her.

“Also, what’s going on with the food I’m eating?” Lyla asked.

It was fine if it was only once, but after the second and third time, she always felt sleepy after eating. It was inevitable that she would become suspicious.

Shadow pursed his lips and lowered his head, remaining silent.

“Was this yours or Felix’s idea?” Lyla asked.

Shadow did not say anything, but it was already very obvious what the answer was.

She took a deep breath. “Let me see him!”

Shadow did not move.

“What is the meaning of this?”

“Ms. Lowe, I’m sorry!” Shadow said.

“You should at least give me an explanation, right?” Lyla asked.

“This was the Boss’s orders!” Shadow said.

Lyla knew that Shadow was very loyal and would not listen to anyone but Felix’s orders.

“How is he now?”

“He’s still recovering. I believe he’ll be better soon!” Shadow said.

When he spoke, Lyla looked straight at him. That was because Shadow was not good at lying. Every time he lied, he looked very nervous.

After watching for a long time, Lyla dropped the subject.

“Alright, I got it!”

“Please rest well, Ms. Lowe. When the Boss is better, he’ll come see you!”

Lyla smiled. “It’s like I’m being imprisoned here!”

Shadow thought about it. “Ms. Lowe can move around and go out if she wants!”

Lyla looked at him, but Shadow was still expressionless.

“Where’s my phone?”

“Phone? I don’t know!” Shadow shook his head.

“My phone…” Lyla got inexplicably angry.

“It would’ve gotten lost when we transferred here!” He said.

“In that case, let me use your phone!”

“There’s no signal here!” He said.

“What does that mean?”
