Chapter 322 Can’t Wrap Her Head Around It

“This…” J looked at Mark. “Mr. Pattinson, what’s going on?”

Mark frowned. “Where is she now?”

“The human resources department!”

“Ask her to come over!”

Although J did not know what was going on, he rarely saw Mark show such an expression. Thus, he immediately nodded and went to call Amanda.

Amanda had just done what Lyla said, so she did not expect that she would be called to Mark’s office.

The moment she saw Mark, she could not help but admit that he was indeed good-looking.

Moreover, his handsomeness was beyond this world.

Amanda looked at Mark and thought that he did match Lyla really well. However, she felt angry the moment she remembered what Mark had done. She did not agree with what he had done. Sure enough, those who were handsome were not dependable.

“What’s your name?”

“Amanda Bowen!” Amanda said indifferently. She was the type of person that would display all of her thoughts on her face. She really could not act politely with Mark.

Mark did not mind. He then said with a calm expression. “Ms. Bowen, did you draw this design?”

Amanda took a glance at it and nodded. “Yes!”

Mark frowned, took a glance at J, and picked up the bracelet from his table. “Then have you seen this before?”

Once Amanda saw the bracelet Mark was holding, her eyes widened.

This was the bracelet she gave to Lyla, right? How could it be here?

“Ms. Bowen, are you not going to explain?”

“Explain about what?”

“Your design drawing. How did this bracelet appear in my house?” Mark asked.

“This…”

Amanda did not know how to answer. She tried to quickly think of a solution. At the moment, it seemed like Lyla had gone home. Otherwise, the bracelet would not be at Mark’s house.

Amanda was a little worried. How should she continue with this lie? Or should she just tell him the truth?

However, she did not dare to tell Mark the truth without Lyla’s permission.

Amanda just stood there anxiously, trying to think of a way.

Mark observed her as his eyes narrowed.

“Did my dad ask you to come over?”

Upon hearing this, Amanda looked up at him in confusion. “Who’s your dad?’

Mark, “...”

Mark’s deep eyes looked at her, not knowing whether she was telling the truth or just pretending. He then simply said, “I don't care who you are or whether you were sent by my dad, but let me tell you, you better get rid of that thought as soon as possible!”

Amanda blinked her eyes. What nonsense was he talking about?’

She did not understand him.

At this moment, Mark picked up her documents and her design drawings.

“Sorry, but you’re not hired!”

Upon hearing this, J frowned. “Mr. Pattinson…”

Amanda asked directly, “Why?”

“You should be very clear that anyone who comes to the company with any motives will not be accepted!” Mark said firmly.

“You know, aren’t you being a narcissist? Yes, you’re indeed handsome, but you’re a father of two children no matter what you say. Who’ll try to get close to you with a motive?” Amanda could not help but complain.

Amanda already had an awful impression of Mark because of the magazine incident. However, his behavior was still terrible at that moment. Therefore, no matter how good-looking Mark was, he was nothing more than that in Amanda’s heart.

Upon hearing her words, Mark smiled coldly from the corner of his lips. “It seems like you’ve looked into my details well. If you already know about it, then why bother?”

“I…” Amanda realized that she was speechless against him.

She pressed her lips together and looked at Mark. She then walked over casually and directly took away the documents on the table. “Alright, it’s fine if you don’t want to hire me. It’s not like I have nowhere to go except your company. Let me tell you, capable people are welcomed everywhere!”

Amanda forced a smile at Mark as she finished speaking. She was about to leave with her documents.

However, Mark’s expression darkened at this moment.

What Amanda said seemed to be familiar.

If Mark remembered correctly, when Lyla first joined the company, they also fought against each other because of some misunderstandings. Lyla had also said what Amanda just said...

After Amanda walked out a few steps, she suddenly remembered something and looked back at Mark. “Also, let me say a little bit more, I won’t bother with a man like you!” Amanda said. She then snorted as she was about to leave.

“Wait!”

Mark spoke suddenly.

Amanda was taken aback and looked at him from the corner of her eyes. “What is it?”

She suddenly thought about what Lyla said. Would he actually throw her out?

Mark sat on the chair and frowned. He then looked up at her. “You’re hired!”

Huh?

The situation changed so quickly that Amanda could not keep up with it. What was happening?

“What do you mean?” Amanda looked at him and asked.

“You wanted to work at our company, right? Now you’re hired!”

“But didn’t you say just now…”

“That was the past!”

Amanda, “...”

This man was changing his mind too quickly.

J just smiled. In his opinion, everything was fine as long as it benefited the company.

He looked at Amanda and admired her in his heart. After all, no one dared to talk to Mr. Pattinson like that for a long time.

“In that case, I’ll guide you around so you can familiarize yourself with the surroundings.”

“But…”

“Come on, let’s go!”

Amanda still wanted to say something, but J persuaded her and brought her out.

“I hope that you’ll work well here. If I find out that you have any ulterior motives, I’ll fire you without any hesitation!”

“You --”

“Go, go, go!”

……

Meanwhile, outside the office.

Amanda looked inside, furious. “What’s with that sh*tty behavior?!”
