Chapter 324 She’s Just A Woman

“By the way, Lyla, how about you? Have you found a job yet?”

Lyla smiled and nodded. “Of course!”

“Really? What job is it?”

“I’m also going to be a designer at a company!”

“What big corporation is it?” Amanda asked.

“You’ll know about it next time!” Lyla did not explain clearly.

Amanda nodded and did not continue asking. In her eyes, Lyla could easily find a great, excellent company with her experience!”

…...

“Boss, something bad happened! Something bad happened! J rushed into the office.

Upon hearing what he said, Mark frowned. “I'm fine. What's the matter?”

J realized that he had said something wrongly, and said, “I didn't mean that, Mr. Pattinson. Something bad happened to Ms. Collins!”

Once Mark heard Delilah’s name, he looked up and asked, “What happened?”

“I heard that Ms. Collins had an accident yesterday. She’s in the hospital now!” J said.

Mark was taken aback for a moment and looked up at J.

"The reporters are all reporting on this matter now. Some said that happened because Ms. Collins was…” J paused mid-sentence.

“Because of what?” Mark asked.

“Because…”

“Say it!” Mark’s voice was not loud, but it was firm.

J was taken aback for a moment. He was then suddenly all fired up and continued, “They said that Ms. Collins was so lovesick that she got depressed. She then tried to commit suicide and ended up in the hospital. The reporters have now described you as a cold man. If you don’t explain the situation immediately, I’m afraid that you’ll never get rid of this label!”

J said everything in one go.

After Mark heard this, he still did not have much of a reaction. He just continued working at his desk.

J frowned and looked at Mark in disbelief. “Mr. Pattinson, are… are you not going to see her? Everyone will really see you as a cold man if you don’t go!”

“Then just let them be!” Mark said.

“But…”

“How is Delilah?”

“I’m not sure how she is now!” J said honestly.

“Mmhm!” Mark nodded without much emotion.

“Mr. Pattinson…”

“Alright, you can leave for now!”

“But!”

“Leave!”

J looked at him and had no choice but to slowly go out.

In Mark’s office.

Mark continued working at his desk. He seemed like he was not affected by the news at all. Even his office was utterly quiet.

Later, J could not help but knock on his door again.

“Mr. Pattinson, I think that you should still go to the hospital and take a look. Even if it’s just for show, you should still go!”

“What’s the matter?”

“A lot of people have been commenting on our official Twitter. They’re saying that… That you’re heartless, so even the diamonds that we produce will be meaningless. Everyone is protesting now!”

Mark frowned upon hearing this.

“Mr. Pattinson, I still think that you should go take a look. Even if we aren’t collaborating with Ms. Collins’ company, you should still go check on her as a friend, right? So…”

“So, you’re starting to mind my business?” Mark lifted his head and looked at him.

J, “...I won’t dare!” He then immediately lowered his head.

Mark took a glance at him and said, “Then I’ll just go check on her!”

J nodded immediately and went to get the car.

Meanwhile, in the hospital.

Delilah sat on the bed.

When Mark appeared, she still felt a little doubtful.

It had been so long that she thought Mark would not come, but unexpectedly…

“Why are you here?” Delilah looked at him and asked. Even if she felt excited in her heart, she still put on a cold look.

“To check on you!” Mark said as he glanced at her. “How are you? Are you alright?”

“Looks like I can’t die yet!”

“That’s good then. In that case, I’ll take my leave!” After he finished speaking, Mark turned around and was about to leave.

Delilah looked at Mark’s back. “Mark Pattinson!!!”

She was furious.

“Is there anything else?”

“Are… are you going to just leave like this?” Delilah asked.

“If not? You don’t seem to welcome me anyway!”

Delilah clenched her fists tightly. She was furious in her heart but facing this emotionless man, she had to endure it.

“Mark Pattinson, I’m already like this, but you’re not even going to ask anything else?” Delilah looked at Mark and asked. Even if she was holding in her anger, she still could not help but feel angry.
