Chapter 327 Finding News About Lyla

“You don’t know anything, so don’t talk nonsense!”

“I’m not talking nonsense. What I see is that everyone always says he’s devoted and deeply affectionate, but that woman only disappeared not long ago and he already has a new woman. What’s more, he didn’t even have concrete information about what happened to the previous woman. It’s ridiculous to say that he’s devoted!” Amanda could not help but spit.

“You—”

“You’re right!”

J was just about to say something when a cold voice sounded from behind.

He turned around to see Mark walking over. Mark wore a dark suit which set off his tall and slender frame. His exquisite features were indescribably cold, and his deep and bottomless eyes made it so no one could tell what he was actually thinking.

He walked over step by step and looked at Amanda. “You’re right. I’m a fickle person!”

Originally, it had only been Amanda’s opinion, but now that she heard him admit it, she became furious and felt that he was unworthy of Lyla. “You’ve finally admitted it?”

“I’ve never denied it!” Mark said.

Amanda looked at him and smiled coldly. “Don’t you think you’re letting her down like this?”

“She’s not around anymore!” Mark said with a pale face.

“How do you know she isn’t around anymore? Have you gotten exact news?” Amanda asked. “Have you ever wondered how sad she would be if she was still alive and saw you like this?” Amanda was outraged on behalf of Lyla.

Mark turned around and narrowed his eyes at that. “What does that mean? D-Do you know something?” He asked.

Only then did Amanda remember. She almost let her mouth slip because she was too angry. “I don’t know anything. I just feel that you are unworthy of her!”

Mark smiled bitterly, but not because of her accusations. “If possible, how I wish she could stand in front of me now to criticize me, beat me, scold me, or whatever she wants…” He added in his heart, ‘As long as she appears!’

However, Amanda did not know.

“If I were her, I wouldn’t want to see you ever again in my life!” Then, she no longer wanted to talk to him and turned to walk away.

Mark stood where he was and gazed into the distance. His expression did not change, but his fists on both sides of his body were tightly clenched together. His deep eyes also concealed a lot...

After Amanda left, J immediately walked up. “Mr. Pattinson…”

Mark raised a hand and motioned for him not to say anything more. “You go first. I want to be alone!”

The words in J’s mouth had to be forcefully swallowed back. He looked at Mark in heartache but had no choice but to turn around and leave.

Mark stood where he was and looked into the distance, leaving a lonely and silent silhouette. No one knew what he was doing…

……

When J went out, Amanda had not gone downstairs.

J did not agree with what she said, but he did not want to explain things to her. Thus, he only gave her a cold look and did not say anything when he saw her.

Amanda ignored his foul temper.

In the elevator, the two people looked to different sides, ignoring each other.

The doors opened with a ding, and J walked out.

Amanda watched from inside the elevator, furious beyond reason. Who was he showing off that expression to? With a snort, she also walked out, but the elevator doors just so happened to close at that moment and sandwiched Amanda in between.

“Damn it! Even you’re bullying me!” Amanda said angrily.

J heard the movement and paused. He wanted to turn back but resisted and simply walked away.

……

The time for the engagement ceremony arrived.

Lyla wanted to go see it, but she forced herself not to think about it and go see it. Since she decided to let go, she should be thorough. Thinking this way, she sat at the makeup table and looked at herself who had already put on makeup.

At that moment, her phone rang.

“Hello, Mr. Rice. I’ve packed up!”

“Okay, got it!”

After hanging up, Lyla got ready to go downstairs. At that moment, Amanda walked over and looked at her with a distressed expression.

“Lyla, are you really not going?”

Lyla shook her head. “I’m not!”

“Maybe, maybe he still loves you. Are you really going to give up like this?” Amanda still felt a bit reluctant.

Lyla smiled. “You don’t have to worry about me. I’m really fine. Believe me!”

Amanda pouted. Although Lyla told her countless times not to worry, she was still worried.

“Alright, it’s getting late. I have to go down now!”

“Lyla…”

“Come on, pack your stuff too!” Lyla said and then disappeared from the room.

Amanda watched, her brows still knitted with worry…

……

When Lyla went downstairs, there was already a car parked there.

Seeing Lyla, Mr. Rice opened the car door for her like a gentleman.

“Thank you, Mr. Rice!”

“I should be the one thanking you!”

Lyla smiled and silently got into the car.

On the road, Lyla did not ask much, because it did not matter where she went. However, she just did not expect that the place they were going was to the site of Mark Pattinson’s engagement ceremony.

It was only when the car stopped at the entrance and Lyla got down from the car that the large intimate poster of Mark Pattinson and Delilah Collins was reflected in her eyes that she came to a sudden realization.

It turned out the event Mr. Rice talked about was here.

Lyla was shocked and stood in front of the poster, unable to return to her senses for a long time.

In the poster was Mark’s exquisite facial features, and Delilah was beautiful and enchanting. Although Lyla knew about today’s events, seeing it with her own eyes was a different feeling and experience.

“What’s wrong?” At that moment, Mr. Rice came up and asked. However, Lyla still did not move.

“Ms. Lowe!”

Only then did Lyla return to her senses. She looked at Mr. Rice with an indescribable loss in her eyes.
