Chapter 352 I Shall Formally Pursue You

However, why was Amanda wary of him?

Neil was a decent person. It could even be said that he was someone that made people unable to reject him.

In any case, Amanda’s behavior just meant that she felt differently for Neil.

Lyla felt more relieved when she thought about this.

Just like what Mark said, it was better for them to just go with the flow.

Everyone had a story of their own and different future matters. They were just spectators, so they could only watch from the side and not interfere too much.

“Fine then, since you already said it, then I won’t say anything else!” Lyla said.

Amanda glanced at Lyla and secretly let out a breath of relief. “I’ll go make some coffee!” Amanda said as she walked towards the kitchen.

Lyla smiled helplessly as she watched Amanda’s back.

“Amanda, accompany me to the mall later in the afternoon!”

“Why do you want to go to the mall?”

“My clothes are getting a little tight, so I wanna buy a set of looser ones!”

Upon hearing this, Amanda remembered Mark’s instructions. “You didn’t bring any when you came here?”

“I had to come over here on short notice, so I didn’t bring anything!”

“Why don’t I go buy them for you? You should just wait at home!” Amanda said. This way, she did not have to worry too much.

Although Amanda did not say anything, Lyla could tell that there was something off. Amanda usually loved to go shopping, so there was something off if she was not excited about it.

“What did Mark tell you?” Lyla raised an eyebrow and asked.

Amanda walked out carrying the coffee. Upon hearing Lyla’s words, her expression became a little unnatural. “Nothing!”

“Nothing?”

Amanda looked to the side. “What can he even say to me?”

“Are you sure you’re not lying to me?”

Amanda, “...” She then looked at Lyla. “I can’t hide anything from you!”

Lyla smiled. “It’s natural!”

“But I think we should still follow what Mr. Pattinson said. It’s better to take precautions!”

“Sigh, I feel like I’m being imprisoned nowadays!”

“You should feel happy that Mr. Pattinson is treating you this well!”

“Yeah, yeah, yeah!”

The two of them were still teasing each other while the doorbell suddenly rang.

“I’ll go open the door!” Amanda said as she immediately got up and went to open the door.

However, once the door opened, Amanda was shocked.

Lyla was drinking a cup of water. Before she could react to what was happening, she heard that the door was closed with a ‘bang’.

Lyla looked at Amanda. “What’s the matter?”

“Uhh, nothing, nothing!” Amanda leaned against the door with a panicked expression.

Upon seeing her expression, Lyla could not help but frown. “Who is it?”

“Oh, it’s an insurance seller. They’re doing door-to-door sales!” Amanda made up an excuse.

Lyla did not think much about it, but the doorbell started ringing again and again.

Amanda stood beside the door as her expressions became more and more anxious.

Only then did Lyla realize something was wrong.

“What’s the matter? Who is it?” Lyla asked.

“It’s nothing. It’s just an insurance seller!” Amanda said as she walked toward the inside. She then reminded Lyla, “Don’t open the door!”

Lyla frowned. Just as she was thinking about something, knocking noises started coming from the door.

“I know that you’re in there, so open up!”

Lyla was taken aback for a moment. This voice was... Neil?

Amanda did not expect that he would come knocking on the door and shouting, so she did not know what to do. It was really a speak of the devil moment.

“It’s Neil?” Lyla looked at Amanda and asked.

“No, it’s an insurance seller!” Amanda emphasized. Seeing that Lyla was going to open the door, Amanda quickly stopped her. “Lyla, don’t open the door!”

Amanda’s reaction clearly explained that the person outside was none other than Neil.

Lyla felt a little troubled and did not know what she should do.

At this moment, Neil banged the door. “I’ll give you two choices. It’s either you open the door, or I’ll get someone to unlock it!”

Amanda looked at the door and could not help but said, “You’re so persistent! I’ve already said that I don’t know you!”

“Whether you know me or not, we’ll talk about it face to face when you open the door!” Neil said by the door.

“I don’t want to. There’s nothing that we should talk about!”

“Fine then. I’ll call someone to unlock the door!” Neil said. Then, the outside became silent for a while.

Amanda was stunned as she tried listening to the noises outside.

“Hello, I need to unlock a door, I’m at…”

This bastard was really…

Amanda suddenly opened the door. Neil just stood outside the door and was not even holding his phone. Upon seeing her, he smiled at her elegantly.

“You liar!” Amanda said as she was about to close the door. However, Neil stretched out his arm and held the door.

Amanda was quite strong, so she ended up clamping his arm.

“Ugh…” Neil frowned in pain.

Once Amanda saw this, she was shocked. Lyla watched them from behind and could not help but feel worried for them.

“Are, are you okay?” Amanda looked at him and asked.

“It’s quite painful!” Neil said.

At this moment, Amanda opened the door. “Then, then what should we do? I didn’t do it on purpose, I… I…”

Seeing Amanda’s worried and anxious expression, Neil suddenly remembered there was a similar scene in the past. He remembered that she also looked like this when something burned him.

How could she not be the same person if she had the same expression?

“Let’s talk for a while!” Neil looked at Amanda and said.

“Huh?” Amanda looked at him.

At this moment, Neil immediately grabbed Amanda as he looked at Lyla, who was standing behind. “We’ll go out for a little. We’ll be back soon!”

Lyla nodded as if she was telling them to take their time.

Before Amanda could even react, she had already been dragged away by Neil.

“Hey, what are you doing? Let go of me!”
