Chapter 353 Out Of The Blue

Amanda and Neil continued bickering as they walked back. However, when they reached the entrance, Amanda was taken aback.

The door was unlocked.

Amanda turned back and glanced at Neil. “You didn’t lock the door when you left?” She asked.

Neil was also confused, so he could not remember it. He was only focusing on Amanda at that moment. “I probably did lock it…” Neil said slowly, not knowing the seriousness of the matter.

Probably...

Amanda immediately rolled her eyes at him once he said ‘probably’. She then rushed in with an anxious expression.

“Lyla…” Amanda called out, but no one answered.

She was stunned for a moment when she remembered Mark’s instructions.

“Lyla!” Amanda called out again. She searched through each room and even the toilet, but Lyla was nowhere to be seen.

When she came out of the room, she saw Neil standing by the door with a stern expression. “I think someone came over…”

Amanda’s expression immediately changed.

……

Once Mark heard about the news, he rushed over immediately. When he arrived, Amanda had already burst into tears.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t protect Lyla properly, sorry…” Amanda kept crying as she apologized. Her crying also made Neil feel distressed for her.

Mark frowned gradually. His face stiffened and became as cold as ice. It was as if he could tell that a storm was coming soon.

Upon seeing Amanda filled with guilt, Neil could not bear it. He then walked over and patted Mark’s shoulder with a hand. “I’m responsible for this matter, so it has nothing to do with her. If you want to blame it on someone, then blame it on me!” He said.

Mark pressed his lips together as his fists were tightly clenched by his sides. Even the veins on his arms could be seen. Although he was furious, he knew that it was not the time to be blaming anyone. If he had to blame someone, he could only blame himself. It was his mistake that he underestimated the other party!

After thinking about it for a while, he slowly unclenched his fists and said coldly, “I’ll go ahead first!” Mark then immediately walked out after he finished saying this.

“Mr. Pattinson!” Amanda suddenly spoke, “I’m sorry, it’s my fault. I’ll take responsibility for this and find Lyla!”

Mark just paused for a little and left without saying anything.

Amanda stood behind in guilt as her tears continued to fall. At this moment, Neil walked over. “He won’t blame you, so you don’t have to blame yourself!”

“But Mr. Pattinson instructed me about it before…”

“Alright, since you think that it’s your fault, then let me help you make up for it. Don’t worry, I’ll definitely be able to find Lyla!” Neil said.

“But don’t you know that Lyla is pregnant? I really don’t know what to do if anything happens to her!” Amanda said while crying.

Upon hearing her words, Neil was taken aback.

After being stunned for a moment, he looked at Amanda. “Don’t worry, nothing will happen to her. Mark isn’t an ordinary person, and I’ll be helping as well, so it’ll be fine. Don’t worry!” Neil said.

After hearing his words, Amanda looked at Neil. It was the first time that she thought Neil was a dependable person. It was also the first time she felt that it was good to have someone by her side…

Amanda held in her tears and nodded at Neil.

At this moment, Neil thought about something. He took out his phone and immediately sent a text to Amanda’s phone. “This is my place’s address and lock pin. You should stay over there for now as your place isn’t safe anymore!”

“Uhh…” Amanda was confused.

“Don’t worry, I won’t be going back this period. There’s only a maid there. You can make yourself home there!”

“There’s no need…”

“Your place isn’t safe. Do you want to get captured with Lyla too?”

“Their target isn’t me, so…”

“Even if it isn’t you, they can still capture you to threaten Lyla. You need to believe that if that person can do something like this, then capturing you won’t be anything strange!” Neil said.

Once Amanda heard this, she started to trust his words.

“Then it’s settled. My car is downstairs, and this is the key. You can drive it later!” Neil said as he passed the key to her.

“Then, then what about you?” Amanda asked.

“What? You’re worried about me?”

Amanda, “...”

She immediately turned away. Of course, she was not.

Seeing her change, Neil knew that it was not the time to be teasing her. He then said, “Don’t worry, I have my ways. Just be careful, okay?”

For some reason, Amanda just nodded at him. Maybe something was wrong with her brain.

Neil stretched out his hand and patted her head as if he was pampering her. “Protect yourself properly. I’ll be leaving for now!” Neil said with a smile, turned away, and left.

Watching his back, Amanda suddenly felt that he was not that unlikeable anymore.

…….

Mark was sitting in his car, trying to calm himself down.

At this moment, Neil knocked on Mark’s car door, pulled it open, and sat into the car.

“You’re still angry?”

“If I have the time for that, I’ll rather use it to think about what I should do instead of wasting it!” Mark said coldly.

“What if I tell you some news? I hope you can still be this calm after hearing it!” Neil looked at him and said.

Mark did not say anything. He did know what news could be worse than their situation at that moment.

Neil took a deep breath. “Lyla is pregnant!”

Upon hearing these few words, Mark was stunned.

He looked at Neil in disbelief.

“It’s Chloe, uh, Amanda who told me!” Neil said.

At that moment, Mark could not keep himself calm anymore.

Lyla was pregnant?

All he was thinking in his mind were various scenes with Lyla.

No wonder she was always sleepy during this period. She also would not let him…
