Chapter 61 Slap a Witch Like You

“Shut up!” Mark Pattinson suddenly shouted coldly and startled Kathleen Turner. The next moment, he pulled Lyla and rushed out before everyone could react.

Kathleen Turner looked at their backs. It took her quite a while before she came back to her senses.

What did this mean?

Everyone was exchanging glances as well, but there was one thing that they could be certain of: the relationship between Lyla and Mark Pattinson was definitely not simple!

They had never seen Mark Pattinson so angry before. He became that angry just because he heard that Lyla had a child.

However, none of the people there sympathized with Kathleen Turner.

Even if Lyla and Mark Pattinson really got together, everyone would probably just think that it was logical.

That was because they admired them from their hearts. Besides, Kathleen Turner’s character was awful, and she was not fit to stand between Mark Pattinson and Lyla!

Therefore, Ethan Miller told everyone to go back and continue enjoying themselves. They pretended as if they did not see what happened just now.

Mark Pattinson pulled Lyla outside and shoved her into the car. With a whoosh, the car vanished on the road in a few seconds.

Lyla quietly wore a seat belt when she saw his driving speed. It would be a lie if she said she was not scared.

Her whole body tensed up.

Mark Pattinson became extremely scary when he was angry.

She was not afraid of him getting angry, but she was afraid of sitting in his car! He drove at a fatal speed!

Even so, to be safe, she did not say anything and just waited for the torturous moment to pass quickly.

After driving for some time, the car let out a screech as Mark Pattinson stopped the car.

Lyla was instantly relieved as well.

The inside of the car was silent. There were only the sounds of Lyla’s heartbeat and Mark Pattinson’s breathing.

Mark Pattinson did not expect to hear such a result when he was about to give her his heart!

But when he remembered that Lyla once belonged to another man and gave birth to a child after making love with him, he became so jealous that he wanted to kill that man!

He turned his head. His eyes showed that he was trying hard to suppress his anger. “Lyla Lowe, don’t you have anything to say to me?”

Lyla did not dare look into his eyes. It was probably because she felt guilty. She thought for a while and said, “If you blame me for this matter, then I’m sorry!”

“Sorry? What are you sorry for?” Mark Pattinson asked aggressively.

Lyla did not say anything.

“Say it!”

Lyla still remained silent.

“Lyla Lowe, trust me when I say, I’m going to choke you!” he shouted angrily. His eyes were incredibly bloodshot, and no one knew whether it was because he was drunk or whether it was because of some other reason.

“I’m sorry!” she apologized. But in her mind, another voice was saying, ‘Mark Pattinson, do you know that Hansel and Gretel are your children?”

Unfortunately, she could not tell him about this.

It was because she could not predict the consequences. She could not tell him at the risk of losing Hansel and Gretel!

Mark Pattinson stared at her. He became even angrier when he saw her calm face.

“How old is your child?” he asked.

Lyla was surprised. She obviously did not expect Mark Pattinson to ask such a question.

She looked away and stared stiffly at another spot. “Seven years old.”

‘Seven years old. The child is actually seven years old!’

When Mark Pattinson thought about it, he felt like he was an idiot.

“Lyla Lowe!” He clenched his fists tightly. He could not hold back and threw a punch at Lyla.

Lyla, who sat in the front passenger seat, felt his punch coming, but she did not move.

That was because she could not dodge it even if she tried to.

She closed her eyes and prepared to have his punch land on her.

But after a long time, she only felt a gust of wind pass by her ear. Then, she heard the sound of a heavy punch by her ear.

Mark Pattinson punched at the back of the chair.

Lyla frowned as she looked at Mark Pattinson’s hand. She felt remorseful and guilty when she saw Mark Pattinson’s hurt expression.

The veins on Mark Pattinson’s forehead bulged up.

“Get out!” Mark Pattinson said coldly.

Lyla’s body froze for a moment.

“Get out now!” Mark Pattinson shouted, but Lyla could see that he was trying his best to hold back.

Based on how Mark Pattinson usually acted, he was already considered being really kind!

Lyla unbuckled the seat belt and got out of the car without further ado.

Right after she closed the car door, she heard a loud vroom. The car suddenly started and raced forward. In a few seconds, the car vanished.

……

It was so fast that even the leaves on the ground flew up.

Lyla stood by the roadside and looked in the direction the car vanished. She slightly narrowed her eyes and frowned.

‘Mark, I’m sorry!

‘I can’t tell you the truth.

‘I’m sorry…’

She did not know how to say it. She could be thought of as selfish or something else, but she did not dare take that gamble!

After Lyla watched him leave, she walked along the roadside for a while. She took a taxi and went back home when the taxi passed by her.

…...

After she reached home, Hansel and Gretel were not asleep yet. They sat on the sofa and watched television while drinking hot chocolate. The two little children looked adorable.

Lyla smiled when she saw this scene right after she entered the house.

Gretel turned her head when she saw that Lyla had returned “Mommy, were you trying to come back on time?”

Lyla smiled and changed her shoes. She was incredibly tired. “Yeah.”

When Hansel saw that Lyla was in a bad mood, he immediately asked, “What happened?”
