The doctor’s eyes hovered between them. Lyla sat on the bed with a gloating smile, and the doctor nodded awkwardly. “Well, do call me again if you need anything!” Then, the doctor left.

As soon as the doctor left, Lyla gave a brilliant smile to Mark.

It was as if she was saying, ‘Look, fooled ya!’

Mark was exasperated and slowly walked over. Even if he was angry, he could not snap with Hansel and Gretel around.

He could only endure the anger. However, Mark Pattinson was not someone who would only silently tolerate without acting up. He would wait until no one else was present.

“Mr. Pattinson, what did you call the doctor for?” Lyla asked him. Seeing how he was suffering yet unable to speak out, Lyla felt so good she wanted to squeal.

At that moment, Mark looked at Hansel and Gretel. “Let’s go. I’ll send you back!”

“What about Mummy?”

“Let her stay here alone!”

Lyla rolled her eyes at him. She also felt bad for the children who were accompanying her at the hospital. “Yes, you two go back first. If you’re not here, I’ll be able to sleep!”

“Yep, don’t prevent your mommy from having a good rest. Let’s go!”

Kathleen Turner slept until the evening and only walked down when someone came over to call her down for dinner.

There were not many people in the Pattinson residence. She only knew of the eldest, Daniel Pattinson, but had never met him before. Mark Pattinson was not present either, so there was only Logan Pattinson and a child, Jesse Pattinson.

Kathleen went down and looked at them. “Mark isn’t coming back?”

“He isn’t. Let’s eat first!” Eileen Dawson said.

Kathleen did not ask anything much and sat down.

Logan looked at her with the manner of a rich playboy. “Don’t worry, he won’t come back until Friday!”

Friday was the Pattinson family’s dinner day. It was initially started by Eileen for the opportunity to gather information, and eventually grew to what it was.

“I heard your dad was detained for corruption?” Logan asked while eating. He refused to act civilly to her at the thought that she would be marrying Mark Pattinson.

Kathleen’s expression changed at those words. She froze from eating and looked up at Logan, who had a smug expression.

Eileen opened her mouth. “What are you saying? Hurry up and eat!”

Eileen rarely reprimanded Logan. Being scolded by her, Logan did not say anything more and continued to eat.

Eileen looked at Kathleen. “Logan isn’t sensible. Don’t mind him!”

Kathleen shook her head and forced a smile. She suddenly thought of the phrase ‘living like a parasite under another’s roof’.

So, that was how it felt like.

She ate in silence and did not speak, and Eileen took the opportunity to glare at Logan. Logan pretended not to see and continued to eat.

Then, after eating, he said, “I’m going back to my room!” and left.

Eileen looked at Kathleen. “Eat more!”

After dinner, Kathleen went upstairs to rest.

Kathleen looked at the milk and accepted it with a smile. “Thank you!”

However, the maid did not leave. Kathleen looked at her. “Is there anything else?”

“You can drink the milk, Ms. Turner. I’ll take the cup down and wash it!” The maid said.
